Trope is Jerk With A Heart Of Gold subverted, not "jerkass character has no redeeming qualities".

* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: The fact that his faults come from being InnocentlyInsensitive does not redeem him, as unlike the usual character who runs into this trope, Kevin doesn't mean well or have redeeming qualities to make up for it. This is best shown in the first episode when Kevin goes from simply ignoring Allison's desires to outright stopping them from happening. [[spoiler: It is eventually made clear that Kevin knows full well how awful he is but simply doesn't care.]]

* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: The fact A running gag of the sitcom segments of the show is that his faults come from being InnocentlyInsensitive does not redeem him, as unlike the usual character who runs into this trope, Kevin doesn't mean well or have redeeming qualities to make up he will occasionally do something "nice" for it. This Allison, only for him to reveal it's incredibly half-assed or done for a self-serving reason. One example is best shown in the first episode when Kevin goes from simply ignoring Allison's desires episode, where he tries to outright stopping them from happening. [[spoiler: It is eventually made clear that Kevin knows full well surprise Allison with a classy anniversary "dinner" like she'd wanted (as a means of smoothing over how awful he is but simply doesn't care.]]went behind her back canceling their plans to move,) only for him to later happily express how he can't wait to eat whatever ''she'' makes.

This is not what the trope is about to begin with; the entry reads as Obliviously Evil, which is already a trope.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Evil is a stretch, but Kevin seems to be completely unaware of how his actions hurt the people around him and honestly seems to believe his antics are all in good fun. Thrown out the window in Season 2, where it’s shown that his actions are intentionally malevolent.
