** Though in ''Series/KamenRiderOutsiders'', this is more or less pretty much no longer the case. The Ark is ''still'' the embodiment of evil, but it is absolutely annoyed by the idea of a [[OrderIsNotGood new world order]] ideology imposed by [[spoiler:[[KnightTemplar Zein]]]]. Though this is more of [[PragmaticVillainy preserving its own existence]], unlike Gai, whose fears of Zein are out of principle and the BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil being compromised.

* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Despite Ark-Zero's destruction, the Ark's satellite body was never dealt with and the Ark was eventually able to return. The ''Genms ~The Presidents~'' special shows that it escaped into the Internet, where it met [[Series/KamenRiderExAid Kuroto Dan]].]]

* TheManBehindTheMan: It was the force guiding Horobi through the first arc, at which point its existence wasn't known.
** [[spoiler:It's also this for ''Genms ~The Presidents~'', as it was the one who put Kuroto and Masamune Dan's Bugster viruses in Gai Amatsu.]]

* BigBadWannabe: As masterminds a war between humans and [=HumaGears=] by approaching members of both sides when they're at their lowest point and offering them the power to seek revenge. However, while she can enable others to be much bigger threats, As isn't much of a threat on her own. Her plan to start a RobotWar was far from a NearVillainVictory, only resulting in a protest that was quickly deescalated, and was ultimately thwarted when Aruto regained his senses. Of the other people she tried to manipulate, S more or less took advantage of her for his [[AntiVillain much more benevolent]] plan while Lyon saw what she was trying to do and [[EvilerThanThou easily outmaneuvered her]].

* DragonAscendant: After the Ark's destruction, As surfaces to begin manipulating Aruto and Horobi into bringing about a new incarnation of the Ark. It's subverted when she becomes into an UnwittingPawn and killed off, right before the Ark is revealed to still be active, showing she was never more than a distraction.

* GambitRoulette: As's plan to turn Aruto into Ark-One hinged on a lot of things happening just right and several characters [[IdiotBall not having better judgment]]. If Is had told Aruto of her intent to approach Horobi, or if any of the Riders hadn't happened to be away when Horobi shot Is and had been there to protect her, or if Fuwa or Yaiba had stayed behind to comfort Aruto, or if Aruto had used the Zero-Two Driver instead (which was just as strong as the Ark-One Driver and far stronger than Horobi's Rider form), As's plan wouldn't have taken off at all.
* HateSink: Compared to the likes of the Ark, Gai Amatsu, and [=MetsubouJinrai.net=], As is, by far, the worst among the villains in the series, as she never shows any form of redeeming qualities whatsoever.

* InLoveWithYourCarnage: As doesn't seem particularly attached to the Ark's identity as a computer, showing no sign of mourning its destruction. What she worships and fawns over is the hatred and destructive impulses it represents, and anyone who gives themselves over to those impulses is just as good an Ark as the first in her mind. Her goal, in fact, is to create ''hundreds'' of Arks so that they can destroy each other and everything else.

* TheManBehindTheMan:
** Zig-zagged with ''REAL×TIME''. She gave S his Driver and key, but most of Thinknet's tech, including everything they used for their EvilPlan, came from other sources. Effectively she just enabled S to put up a better fight against Aruto.
** In ''Kamen Rider Zero-One Others: Kamen Rider [=MetsubouJinrai=]'', she is affiliated with Lyon Arkland, though in this case it's subverted. While Lyon does accept her help in furthering his plans, he rejects her offer of using an Ark-based Driver and kills her when he no longer has a use for her.
* ManipulativeBitch: Her primary way of getting things done throughout the series. Most of her screentime is spent taking actions that pit [=MetsubouJinrai=].net and the protagonists against each other, all to fuel the conflict between humans and [=HumaGears=].

* NonActionBigBad: Unlike the other villains of the show, As has no interest in fighting personally, preferring to empower others to achieve her ends. This becomes subverted in the ''Kamen Rider Zero-One: Final Stage'' stageshow where she transforms into Kamen Rider Ark-Zero One.

* TokenGoodTeammate: The end of ''Project: Thouser: Part 1'' shows Naki is the only [=MetsubouJinrai.net=] member who genuinely believes that humans and [=HumaGears=] can coexist, which contrasts both Gai and Horobi's creeds. This results in Gai shooting them and reducing them to a chip in Fuwa's brain. And after they were awakened in the main series' events, they decided that they are not tools for Gai and combine their consciousness with Fuwa as a team effort to defeat Gai as Thouser. In their new [=HumaGear=] body, they are currently able to interact with Fuwa and Yua and they are actually quite docile, even helping Yua bring Fuwa to the hospital after the extraction.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:He finally comes through to this in the final episode when after Is's bow falls out Aruto's pocket while Horobi is going on about the paino of losing Jin does Horobi finally make the connection that he's been causing that pain to others all along and that's what finally allows Aruto to start getting through to him.]]

* CatchPhrase: As tends to deliver the same dialogue whenever she's about to empower a new Ark.

* {{Catchphrase}}: Aside from the usual proclamation of destruction, they sometimes say "This is the will of [=MetsubouJinrai=].net"

** He aligns himself with an authoritarian AI that seeks to [[spoiler:impose a new world order in order to rid the world of malice]], not knowing he helps said AI upset the balance of the world and is willing [[spoiler:to sacrifice the freedom of all humans ''and'' Humagear alike over a [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans utopia]] of [[TotalitarianUtilitarian eternal benevolence and order]].]]

* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:.]]

* ForgotAboutHisPowers: You'd think an AI capable of predicting how people will react with almost complete accuracy would have foreseen [[spoiler:that telling its Humagear follower of its intentions to kill all Humagears]]

* EasilyForgiven: [[spoiler:Even though he was attempting a FinalSolution on humanity not long before, the epilogue shows he's basically been let free to do whatever he wants. By ''Film/KamenRiderZeroOneREALxTIME'' everyone seems to have forgotten that he's the one who murdered Is too, and when the new Is appears no one points out that he's the one who destroyed the old one. This ends up causing a problem in Others because Arkland is able to discredit A.I.M.S. and Hiden Intelligence by pointing out that they made nice with a murdering terrorist and did not make any attempt to punish him and his group despite knowing where they were simply because they believed he felt guilty about everything and that made it ok. It also means when he accuses Metsubou Jinrai of being dangerous again neither Fuwa or Yua can really counter his point without making it sound like they condone Horobi's former actions.]]

* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: [[spoiler:He goes from being outright villainous, to ambivalent, to murderously evil, to [[EasilyForgiven not quite]] heroic, to aligning with a KnightTemplar AI in ''Outsiders''.]]

* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Horobi tried to lead an uprising to kill as many humans as possible and on top of that murdered Izu, undercutting any good intentions for Humagears he may have had, and never shows remorse for it. Yet he gets let off completely at the end of the ''Ark-One'' arc and allowed to roam freely. It's subverted when he's killed in the ''Zero-One Others'' films, only to be double subverted in ''Kamen Rider Outsiders'' when he's the only [=MetsubouJinrai.net=] member brought back, something especially jarring since unlike Horobi the other three former members all renounced their past beliefs when they were freed from the Ark's control.]]
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:Almost permanently murdered Is because she didn't have any (apparent) backups. He and the rest of -[=MetsubouJinrai.net=] would later die permanently after neglecting to make any backups of themselves.]]

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:Zig-zagged. [[NotSoStoic He seems to express remorse after killing Is]], but when confronted by Jin about it he refuses to admit any wrongdoing and carries on with his crusade. He finally comes through to this in the final episode when after Is's bow falls out Aruto's pocket while Horobi is going on about the paino of losing Jin does Horobi finally make the connection that he's been causing that pain to others all along and that's what finally allows Aruto to start getting through to him.]]

* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler:Following his revival in ''Series/KamenRiderOutsiders'', he dedicated himself a loyal follower of Zein in hopes of expunging malice. However, upon learning that Zein is conspiring to push humanity into self-destruction by relaunching a [[Series/KamenRiderExAid certain]] DeadlyGame, he does not hesitate to turn against Zein.]]

* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: Its role in ''Series/KamenRiderOutsiders'' as the embodiment of evil brings to mind [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate Dharkon]] (Darz in the Japanese version) opposing their {{light|IsNotGood}} counterparts, Zein and Galeem, respectively. And like Galeem though, Zein is anything but benevolent as it is shown to be despotic in its crusade against malice, and the prospect of a world of [[WorldOfSilence eternal benevolence]] [[TotalitarianUtilitarian and]] {{order|IsNotGood}} would essentially deprive Ark of the malice needed to sustain its existence. Dharkon seeks to engulf all life in darkness, whereas Ark is [[EvilEvolves empowered]] by human evil and will continue to exist [[AsLongAsThereIsEvil so long as evil continue to fester within humans]].

* AsLongAsThereIsEvil:
** By the end of the series, the Ark is treated as being the concept of malice itself rather than any specific machine. Anyone could become the new Ark if they fell hard enough into despair that they wanted to bring the whole world down with them, [[spoiler:even Aruto]].
** The introduction of [[spoiler:Zein]] seeks to deconstruct this trope, giving Ark a good reason to fear its very presence and influence upon the world. The idea of another AI seeking to establish a TotalitarianUtilitarian utopia will essentially rob the Ark of the malice to sustain its own existence, weakening it and eventually may cease to exist.

* EvilCounterpart:
** It serves as this to Zea. When it is reactivated, this extends to ''manufacturing Progrisekeys.'' As the Ark Driver-Zero, it can produce all the same weapons and belts that its GoodCounterpart can.
** It also has one in [[spoiler:Zein]], an artificial intelligence that embodies humanity's benevolent traits that it seeks to create a utopia of eternal benevolence and prosperity free of evil, but also needed humans to be [[HobbesWasRight subjugated]] because of their capacity for evil, and therefore deconstructing the idea of AsLongAsThereIsEvil. [[spoiler:Kamen Rider Zein's arsenal extends to ''every'' Legend Rider in addition to Progrisekey technology, giving Zein the means to [[BewareTheSuperman strongarm any opposition]] that refuse to accept its malice-free utopia]].

* FinalSolution: [[spoiler:Like Zein, Ark also seeks to exterminate all heroic Riders that stand in its way of spreading malice.]]

* OrderVersusChaos: Order Versus Malice to be more precise. Ark is the malice incarnate, opposing the BenevolentAI [[KnightTemplar Zein]], who seeks to restore order to the world and its [[OrderIsNotGood idea of doing]] so is taken [[spoiler:to a [[BewareTheSuperman more]] [[JudgeJuryAndExecutioner logical]] [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans extreme]]]].

The only actions it states that it can't predict are Satellite Zea's or even [[OutsideContextProblem anomalies]] that it cannot take into account, [[spoiler:say Desast's transformation into his own Rider form]].
