A Badass Normal has to keep up with superpowered characters to count. Neither Speedwagon nor George II are indicated to be able to do that.

** While Speedwagon was only antagonistic to Jonathan for a moment and became friends with him right away for sparing his life, Caesar and Joseph don't get along right away but slowly develop into friends over training. In addition to that, Speedwagon is extremely emotional but also determined, whereas Caesar prefers to act calm but in reality is very reckless and impulsive. There's also the fact that Speedwagon [[BadassNormal never learned Hamon]] and lived a happy life, whereas Caesar knew it [[spoiler:and met his end in battle]].

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Compared to Dio, or really, ANY other vampire in the series, Straizo only kills sparingly rather than attempting to create a zombie army or even take over the city/the world. He kills his students and betrays Speedwagon, but when he's lost some blood thanks to Joseph, he moves to take a woman hostage and threaten her with a very minor wound in comparison (removing her tooth) in order to get Joseph to come to him rather than take her blood to heal himself, or attempt to attack anyone else to eat/convert them. his first scene is making a mexican woman lick his face clean after cutting his face accidentally while threatening to cut off her tongue. the second thing he does after keeping a bunch of people jailed, is to slaughter the rest like animals after one attempts to sacrifice himself. he still sides with nazi germany after everything is said and done. was gonna explain every entry but i'll put it as simply as this: jojo and stroheim grew to respect certain aspects of each other. stroheim was still an unrepentant nazi, joseph admits he'd never be happy to see stroheim if he wasn't dealing with pillarmen.

And also realizes that destroying the Pillar Men takes far higher priority than trying to use them as soldiers after what happened in Mexico. He seems to see himself as a German first and foremost, and is not particularly focused on the Nazi ideology.

* PragmaticVillainy: They ''all'' display this, fitting considering they look down upon humans and do not consider them worth their time. They don't go out of their way to kill humans for no reason, and almost all their actions relate to getting the stone in some way, outside of Santana, who was simply trying to see the world. Wamuu was content to leave Joseph, Caesar and Speedwagon alone when Joseph claims he'll beat him in a month, and Esidisi initially completely ignores Joseph when looking for the Red Stone of Aja. Kars in particular seems capable of interacting in human society, getting new clothes and waiting in a city without doing anything needlessly cruel, even if he has no desire to be a part of it.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Pretty much every possible spelling of Suzi is out there. Once (In the Duwang scans of Part 4) even translated as "Sigi".

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: In the manga continuity, he's named George II after his grandfather. The light novel starring him as the main character, however, is titled "Jorge Joestar" with the in-universe justification that he was born in Spain's Canary Islands and therefore used the Spanish spelling, thus also literally making him a ''[=JoJo=]''.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Kars, Esidisi, and Wamuu are consistently used as the official spellings of their names, but The Cars, [=AC/DC=], and Wham! were ([[Music/TheCars the bands]] [[{{Music/ACDC}} that their]] [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wham! names reference]]). Santana's name tends to be spelled consistently unless he receives a DubNameChange for copyright reasons.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Wamuu is the official spelling -- the katakana used by his name in Japanese actually differ from those used by the band name -- but various unofficial translations have also produced Waam, Wham and Whammu.

* MookHorrorShow: Santviento is seen eating a person affected by the Stone Mask in a rather disgusting way, [[BodyHorror to say the least]], literally gets into a soldier, bursts open, then shoots every Nazi soldier with JUST HIS FINGERS. * NoNameGiven: His name was made up by Stroheim. However, Kars later refers to him as Santana, [[{{Namedar}} so maybe Stroheim happened upon the right name.]]
** More likely, though, Kars heard it from when Joseph mentions him back in their first encounter.

* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Caesar has a preference to channel Hamon through ''bubbles'', fragile fleeting things that would ordinarily not last more than a few seconds. He makes very good use of it however.

* CrazyPrepared: Her scarf isn't just an accessory, it's a life sensing tool and a way to channel Hamon to both assist her movements and give her further reach. [[spoiler:Not that it helps her when her guard is down...]]

* InformedAbility: Downplayed. Lisa Lisa is stated to be much better at Hamon than Joseph or Caesar, but never really gets an opportunity to show this off outside dealing with a few mooks. [[spoiler:Not helping things is that her anticipated fight against Kars is muddied by Kars deceiving both Lisa Lisa and Jojo by using a body double.]]

* TheWorfEffect: [[spoiler:She is defeated and nearly killed by Kars to show how much more cunning and dangerous a villain he is, despite not being as mighty a warrior as Wamuu had been]]. To her credit, this only happens once, and it's lessened by the fact that she has been shown to be able to dispatch vampires easily before.

* VitriolicBestFriends: While he and Joseph are borderline inseparable, that doesn't stop them from being at each other's throats half the time. [[spoiler:Their habits of butting heads sadly leads to Caesar making an impulsive decision to fight Wamuu on his own, something that results in his death.]]
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Caesar has four siblings that are never mentioned again once the part had concluded.

Added DiffLines:

* WorfHadTheFlu: [[spoiler:Kars effortlessly beats Lisa Lisa by virtue of completely blind sighting her with a body double to take his place, having been lulled into a false sense of security by his seeming willingness to honor the clash between Wamuu and Joseph without stepping in or attacking her when he had the chance during the former two's fight. Joseph calls him out on it, but Kars defends the action by saying he'd do whatever it takes to win.]]

* AmbiguouslyBi: Caesar's EstablishingCharacterMoment shows him to be quite the lothario around women, but at one point Messina cheekily teases him for his affection towards Joseph, jokingly describing him as having fallen harder in love with Joseph than any of the various women he's been with (comparing him to a SmittenTeenageGirl in the Japanese no less). Caesar for his part does not deny the accusation. That the first thing he does upon reuniting with Joseph is a stock {{Tsundere}} reaction, also doesn't help his case. His CharacterSignatureSong also has lyrics of him speaking about his love for someone who is implied to be Joseph.

* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Subverted. While the Stone Mask-augmented Pillar Men have vampiric traits such as being LifeDrinkers and being weak to sunlight and Hamon, they're never officially referred to as vampires (in fact, they ''eat'' vampires) and show a few noticeable differences. Not only does sunlight merely turn them to stone, but their consumption of other beings seems to be inherent, as normal Pillar Men bore fangs and claws while showing no sign of bloodlust or ferocity.
