His half-brothers include Giorno Giovanna from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureGoldenWind Golden Wind]]'', and Ungalo and Rikiel from ''[[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStoneOcean Stone Ocean]]'', with Donatello Versus of the same series as his younger brother.

* TarotMotifs: As in canon, his Stand is named ''Emperor'', after the Emperor tarot card. Upright, the Emperor card represents masculine power, authority, control, success, discipline, but when reversed, it represents tyranny, abuse of authority, recklessness, and helplessness. According to him, he had always been the "number two", and after becoming a gunslinger mercenary, he wound up becoming a servant of DIO, who used him to kill his enemies. But once he GrewASpine, betrayed DIO, and took control of his own life, his Stand power and accuracy [[TookALevelInBadass increased]].

* PointOfDivergence: Because Hol Horse betrays DIO and joins the Stardust Crusaders following the battle with Enya, she ends up taking his place as the partner of Boingo.

* ShapeshifterBaggage: Despite being a big guy, he's able to disguise himself as someone half his size thanks to Stand.

* ForceAndFinesse: The finesse to his younger brother Ramades' force. He even notes to Polnareff that his favorite thing about controlling fire isn't how destructive it can be, but how it can easily be used to inhibit an opponent's sight.

* InformedAttribute: While Avdol does note that Gray Fly has caused numerous death with his accidents before, his attempts to kill the Joestar team ultimately only results in seven casualties, four passengers and the three pilots.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: He refuses to gamble with Iggy's soul, as he's too much of an animal lover.

* AdaptationalSuperpowerChange: [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipisMagic Canon Fluttershy]] could not only talk to animals (and take care of them), but she also had a unique ability called "The Stare", which is essentially a magical DeathGlare with nigh-hypnotic properties. Here, Fluttershy could still talk to animals, but it's an extension of her Stand, Music in the Trees, since animals are part of [[GreenThumb nature]]. She also lacks her canon counterpart's Stare ability.
