* ChasteHero: She may tick off a lot of boxes when it comes to be a shoujo heroine/magical girl, but the one she ''doesn't'' is in regards to having a love interest, her date with Tony Clark aside. Most of the male figures in her life revolve her family, friends or a ParentalSubstitute in Augustine.

* TheUnapologetic: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. Chloe ''is'' willing to apologize to people, but only to those ''she'' chooses to apologize to, and when she's shown to be in the wrong. This gets PlayedForDrama at the start of Act 2, since [[spoiler:her breaking of Professor Sycamore during the Cyan Desert Car has forced Paimon to reset him, and she can't apologize to him lest she sends him right back to square one again.]]

* LittleMissBadass: She dominated most of the matches in the Ninjala Car and many denizens are fearing for Augustine's life if he has to fight her. The Windchasers also see her in other adventures like fighting an Erlking, clashing against an Angel of Death-though he beat her-and beating up Temple Guards. [[spoiler:And it's she who fights off an Unown-powered Sara and never gets hit by her.]]

* NeverMyFault: Just like her usual ''Blossomverse'' self, Chloe initially refuses to assimilate the fact she has ''any'' connection to how things don't go her way; it's solely her father's fault for keeping her "caged", it's solely Goh's fault that their friendship is failing, it's solely Sara's fault that her classmates bullied her, and so on and so forth. Luckily, she eventually starts to move away from this trope.

* NoSocialSkills: It's implied that she has a problem of not knowing when and when ''not'' to talk about her hobbies; she's presumably turned people away from her hobbies over the macabre (to the point that her classmates immediately can say that Specter look likes her OC) while also pinpointing that she has struggles expressing her problems with her loved ones due to the pressure and bullying placed on her.

* DramaQueen: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. Chloe has a tendency to either get overly emotional when it comes to certain things, or blow certain events or actions way out of proportion, but she doesn't act like this ''all'' the time. An example is her FreudianExcuse: She wanted to go to a softball camp once and behaved for an entire week so her father could sign the permission slip. However, a conference popped up at the last minute that the Professor couldn't cancel, even when she tried to offer alternatives on getting there, practically ''begging'' him to let her do something she loved. But she took all of her father's words to mean that her needs didn't matter to the professor and that she wasn't as important as Pokémon when he said that she could just go to camp next time around and decided to clam up on asking anything from to avoid another "No" from him.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Due to a bad experience of her father refusing to let her go to softball camp -- after she fulfilled a promise to behave for a week and gave alternatives -- she thought of it as "My dad loves Pokémon more than me" rather than reassuring her that she could go next time. This caused her to shut herself off from Pokémon and anyone involved in them because everyone loves ''them'' more thatn they will ever like or notice ''her''.

* IAmNotPretty: PlayedWith. She never sees herself as ugly, the worst is a "Freak" but more for her hobbies than looks, but apparently her female classmates teased her how, when she gave a neutral face or was shy that, "Normal people want ''pretty'', not ''disgusting''." And then there were the comments stating that she'd never win Goh's attention unless she's "dressed like Mew", saying that unless she's a cute little legendary, she's not someone to be noticed nor remarkable by anyone.

** [[spoiler:After she goes through her FreakOut and snaps at Augustine that there is ''no way'' she can be hopeful after seeing what Sara unleashed, which culminates into his black/white view of the world to shatter and he ends up becoming cynical in order to be saved, she asks if this is all her fault. Everyone reassures her that it's not, as it's more a combination of what Augustine has been hiding and Sara's machinations.]]

* StaticCharacter: She's a pretty harsh {{Deconstruction}} of the trope. Chloe ''is'' capable of change, but it's so slow and gradual that it takes a lot of effort for her to change in any meaningful way -- due to having had no proper way to vent out her frustrations due to fears of not having ''anyone'' willing to listen or help in meaningful ways --- and she's also prone to ''backtracking'' on whatever development she had at the first sign of adversity. [[spoiler: This becomes particularly notable by the Cyan Desert Car arc, as by that time she's almost ready to go home, and yet she ''throws all of that away'' to wallow in her spite and angst once more due to Sara essentially having the means to fuck with her life even more, not only causing her number to ''skyrocket'', but taking down Professor Sycamore with her, rejecting him so badly that he gets broken beyond repair and has to have his insanity ''sealed'' just for a chance to not die of despair.]] In ''Oak Lore'', Gary notes that Chloe has just gone through her "Giovanni" moment -- something so traumatic but her ego can readjust itself to help cope, but she will soon hit her "Melissa" moment -- something that will burst her bubble and make her realize that she has no choice but to change.

* BoringButPractical: What type of weapon does the famous idol Chloe of the Vermillion use to smite evil? A donut holer, which is essentially a rusty l-bend steel pipe that was once advertised by a sneaky con-artist cat to punch stuff to turn them into "donuts". It's not as flashy as a well-crafted sword from the Monster City Car, doen't have magic like Amelia's Ice Wand and isn't made of crystal like Yuri's own sword, but a good swing of a heavy pipe to one's face is going to ''hurt'' in the morning and Chloe can easily translate her love of softball into it so she doesn't need that much extra training in order for her to step up to the plate. This is especially noticeable when she fights [[spoierl:Sara, who uses a spiky crystal bat that's on fire and she doesn't get a single hit in]] whereas Chloe fights back without breaking a sweat.

* Leitmotif: "Running with the Wolves" from ''WesternAnimation/{{Wolfwalkers}}'' plays when she decides to unleash her LastStand in the Ninjala Car.

* SpotlightStealingSquad: Despite being allegedly just a SupportingProtagonist this time around, a good deal of Act 1 still focuses heavily on her and her development, with the final confrontation of Act 1 even being a fight between Chloe and her long time bully Sara. However, this trope gets [[DeconstructedtTrope deconstructed]] pretty harshly, since not only does she get the brunt of both good ''and'' bad attention, but [[spoiler: Professor Sycamore neglects his own problems in order to focus on ''her'' growth and quest to stop the Flauros, causing him to become more and more fragile as the story goes on until he cracks when she rejects him.]]

* KarmaHoudini: Despite her verbal lashing at Professor Sycamore nearly causing [[spoiler: the end of the world by the professor's hand]], she doesn't really face any consequences beyond a stern lecture from Auric. Even Sycamore, who has the right to at least be a bit angry at her, immediately forgives her for it.

* LightningFireJuxtaposition: She's the Fire to Specter's Lightning during the Cyan Desert Car. She wields the Cloak of Marchosias and is a hot-blooded FieryRedhead. Specter is fused to a lighthing bolt and is calm, sometimes stoic and good at reading minds.

* AesopAmnesia: Despite being repeatedly taught not to let her anger overtake her and especially not to take her frustrations out on others, [[spoiler: the reveal about the Unown situation causes her to do both: getting so angry at Sara she takes it out on Sycamore, causing him to break.]]

* {{Hypocrite}}: As Goh points out when he snaps at her, she condemns him as being the sole reason their friendship fell apart and for not trying harder to keep it afloat, despite Chloe herself having as much of a role in it going awry as he did.

** Instead of the fanfic focusing on her friendship issues with Goh, Chloe's main motivation is to repair her broken relationship with her father, since Act 2 is going to [[spoiler:focus on her trying to find him when he gest on the Train.]]

** Her ''Blossoming Trail'' self, ''Silent Hill''-wise, was based both on Alessa Gillepsie (who was bullied at school) with Heather Mason (a DaddysGirl who heads to Silent Hill tied to a prophecy to bring about paradise) but her BrokenBird status also gives her traits of Angela Orosco given how she was "abused" by her father and has a distrust of people before she decides to kill herself out of a belief that she can never be saved, her otherworld based on everything set on fire. Fittingly, Augustine Sycamore is compared to James Sunderland and, thankfully, Augustine was able to reach out to Chloe. As of the end of Act 1, she has the film version of Heather Mason added onto the list [[spoiler:because her main mission is to go in search for her father as Harry Mason/Christopher de Silva is alive in that iteration.]]

* FairytaleMotifs: She compares herself to ''[[Literature/TheUglyDuckling The Ugly Ducklett]]'' in the Ninjala Car, as she's pushed around for being "different" and once listed by other girls that her face wasn't good enough -- they reportedly said "People want ''pretty'', not ''disgusting''" -- and that neither girls nor boys wanted to befriend her. And just like the ugly duckling learns that there was a beautiful swan in him all along, she grows up to see a strong, proud girl that doesn't ''need'' to follow the same road everyone else takes.

* FreudianExcuse: The reason why Chloe never asks for anything or keeps saying "No" to Ash and Goh's suggestions to go out and see Pokémon is due to how she once wanted to go to a softball camp in Celadon which her father promised that she could go if she behaved. But when he had to rescind it at the last minute to go to a conference and said that that it wasn't necessary ''now'', despite Chloe trying to find a solution to her problems and fulfilled her promise to behave for a week, his answers basically told her that her needs are not as important to those related to Pokémon, which is why Goh is easily able to tell Ash that "She's just not into them anymore". Not helping was that when Sara learned that her father didn't sign her permission slip, it was just ''another'' way of saying her dad never loved her, something the Professor sees for himself in the Cyan Desert Car.

* GaveUpTooSoon: As revealed later, her FreudianExcuse is that the professor once promised to take her to Softball Camp one time, but a last-minute conference came up and he had to cancel those plans. While Chloe ''did'' try to argue for an alternative, she was pretty dang quick to give up not only on getting her father to listen, but give up on him in general.

* HopeIsScary: She is afraid of putting trust in people, particularly adults, because every single one of them ''promised'' told her that things "will get better". But they didn't and the adults never even thought to be concerned about her but were rather focused on Pokémon or that she'll get ''into'' it. Fittingly, her favorite demon is Marchosias, who is usually described in wishing to return to heaven "but has been deceived of that hope". Thanks to Augustine's promise to be there for her, she's learning to let go of this trope [[spoiler:but slips back into this when Sara gets her hands on the Unown as she feels like there's no way to stop someone with that much power]].

* JerkassRealization: Throughout the Cyan Desert Car and all the way to the Prelude of Act 2, Chloe becomes more and more aware of how insensitive she's been to everyone and culminates with her wanting to be better. The moment that cements that she's really been taking things wrong is when Grace proclaims that she's been ''caged'' by her AbusiveParents to which Chloe realizes that she's really misjudged everyone else's good-natured attempts to try to help her and she took it for granted.

* TheLeader: The leader of the Red Lotus Trio/Uprising, much to Sycamore's shock. She's not afraid to confront villains or speak her ground (Headstrong) and she is a beloved idol on the Infinity Train because of her going up against the Apex and later dismantling the Cage of Flauros (Charismatic).

* MsViceGirl: She shows signs of envy initially -- over seeing how Ash and Goh are privileged to get everything they want, like freedom to travel -- and her most signature sin is wrath due to having bottled up her emotions for years. But that does ''not'' mean she is evil or bad at all and is capable of realizing she's made mistakes when called out on it.

* NeverASelfMadeWoman: Chloe discusses this trope with Goh in their phone call, as she has learned from school and home that the only way she will ever be of any importance is if she is like him,[[note]]Who loves Pokémon than life itself and can't keep a promise to save his life.[[/note]], Ash[[note]]A beloved champion and Pokémon master[[/note]] or her father[[note]]Who has a job involving research with Pokémon and all her classmates ask her "Are you going to be like him?"[[/note]]. Goh quickly tells her that is absolutely unfair.
* NeverBeHurtAgain: Chloe's deepest wish is to be strong enough to avoid being afraid for her life and the fears of being bullied and almost takes up [[spoiler:Dr. Yung's offer to have a Mirage Pokémon]] had it not been for Augustine, Asher and her father convincing her not to. To her, it feels like she's on her back with numerous feet pressed on her neck and finding it hard to breathe.

* PoorCommunicationKills: A lot of her problems at home could've been solved if she was willing to talk about it, ranging from asking someone in the Institue to hear her out or just let her go somewhere. Even asking Ash to just stop asking her to go do Pokémon stuff and bring up her own suggestions or ''finally'' putting her foot down and tell Goh to stop breaking his promise could've been done, no questions asked if she said something. After Goh breaks it down to her that she is also at fault for her mistakes, Chloe agrees and states that the reason that she couldn't speak up is because she felt that everyone ''else'' either pushed her down, ignored her, spoke over her, or she felt terrified of being hurt again before ultimately deciding to be more open about her problems.
* PowerfulAndHelpless: Despite her ridiculously OP artifacts and skills, [[spoiler: she's left unable to console the broken Professor Sycamore in his place, and is nearly ForcedToWatch as he either kills everyone or restarts the world before Auric interferes. She also couldn't stop Sara from her Unown rampage -- albeit more cause she's ''dimensions apart'' -- nor could she stop her dad from being pulled onto the Infinity Train]]
* PowerIncontinence: When she tries to attack Indigo in the Boutique Street Car, she somehow turns into her wolf form by mistake. Chloe is unsure how that happened. When asked of this by Anubis, he states that she'll have to go to Wepwawet (his brother and the one who created the cloak) for more answers.

* ReplacementGoldfish: The reasons why Augustine is so adamant to help Chloe is because, deep down, he feels like it's his chance to do things right in regards to what happened with Alain. [[spoiler:This does ''not'' do wonders to his sanity when she not only refused to calm down with his hope but she also acccepted ''Specter's'' encouragement to stop crying and put her bully in her place.]]

* SecretlySelfish: Admits that she's no better than Sara at some points in what she wanted when Goh calls her in the Ninjala Car.

* SpoiledBrat: What she boils down to upon further inspection, though she's definitely a saint compared to her canon self. Chloe's issues can be basically summarized as being angry because people don't pay attention to her, but she ignores the fact she has a roof under her head, parents who are present if a bit oblivious, and people who'd be willing to listen to her if she actually spoke up. Compare this to her classmates, most of who do not have and ''will never'' have good parents and had shaky prospects for the future even before they were systematically destroyed for bullying Chloe.

* ThereAreNoTherapists: There actually ''are'', except her father has decided to give self-therapy to his daughter instead of running this by with a professional. Needless to say, that was the ''wrong'' decision to take.

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Just like in canon, Chloe became her class's personal punching bag solely under the basis of her father's job and her hobbies. Thankfully she gets a break in the Cyan Desert Car when her classmates, now fully realizing how horrible they were, admit that they seriously messed up and she's willing to give them a second chance.

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The way she alludes that being into Pokémon is equated to being "normal" and how she's [[BullyMagnet been treated]] due to her not liking Pokémon like everyone else expect her to be is akin to someone who is picked on for being mentally disabled. That no matter what she does, she's just not going to fit in. Chloe even states that her (possible future) teachers will assume that her not liking Pokémon is just a ''phase'' she'll grow out of, not to mention that her father also secretly admitted WhyCouldntYouBeDifferent and couldn't comprehend why his daughter just ''wasn't'' into Pokémon. Moreover, the fact that the class is taking ''advantage'' of the fact that she's (presumably) mentally disabled in order to get what they want, not to mention the teachers turning a blind's eye over the suffering of someone autistic or the lack of therapy or counseling, reflect how those mentally disabled are seen as liars or fakes and frowned upon society. This is also reflected when Chloe notes that she ''has'' to be dramatic and have meltdowns or else no one is going to believe that she's actually in a lot of pain and suffering.

* YouKeepUsingThatWord: Just like in the original trilogy, she insists on calling what was happening to her at the Cerise Institute as her being "caged" despite there being plenty of reason to believe otherwise. This, too, eventually begins phasing out.

* AllUpToYou: With Sycamore [[spoiler: going on his own mental therapy with Auric]] and the rest of the teams focusing on [[spoiler: fighting the Shadows]], Chloe's ultimately the only one left to [[spoiler: confront Sara and end her reign of terror once and for all.]]
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: No matter what Sara does in the Cyan Desert Car arc, she can never best Chloe. When the two fight, Sara has to upgrade her bat to shoot crystal spikes and ''set it on fire'' and she never gets a hit in. Chloe simply uses her donut holer as it is, and also resorts to punches and kicks if need be, only using her cloak's power ''once''.

* CannotSpitItOut: Early Act 1 has her not wanting to admit that she should confess to her problems under the belief that she has doubts that ''anyone'' back home believes her. In fact, most of her problems -- while they could have been noticed sooner if someone else noticed it -- could've been solved if she spoke up as to ''why'' she doesn't like Ash constantly asking her to see Pokémon, ask her father to let her do something outside being in the Instiute or even reminded Goh to ''finally'' keep a promise to see her on time. Chloe later admits that she's just so ''scared'' to speak up because she's been told time and time again that "No one loves if you're not into Pokémon" and she later admits to her mother that she blows up because she feels like it's the only way that for ''someone'' to finally notice her.

* CurbStompBattle: What got her on the Train was being pushed to fight [[TheAce Ash Ketchum]] in a battle by her classmates. She lost because she's not into battling and doesn't know anything except "Yamper, use Spark" while Ash is the Alola League Champion. This ended up being one of the final straws because it just showed Chloe that she's an absolutely ''nothing'' compared to him and that she was dreading the reactions of her classmates when they found out.

* EasilyForgiven: Despite [[spoiler: driving Professor Sycamore past the DespairEventHorizon by not only rejecting his attempts to help her calm down, but coldly rebutting him and chiding him with extreme pessimism]], which even Chloe herself believes was too much, the professor tells her that she's forgiven and to forget about it. However, she doesn't feel like she deserves to be forgiven.

* TraumaCongaLine: Everything was looking so well for her throughout Act 1. Then Sara destroys everything with the subtlety of a meteor killing the dinosaurs and she's struggling through keep calm while having to deal with Augustine's blunt honesty telling her that she's selfish and [[spoiler:her father stuck on the Infinity Train with implications that he's a stone's throne from ''throwing himself onto the wheels.]]

Near the end of the Cyan Desert Car, when the classmates admit that if they realized ''who'' they were bullying, they wouldn't have done so. Chloe, however, remarks that it ''wouldn't'' have mattered; regardless of her status, they would've bullied her because they just wanted to hurt ''someone'' and not care of the consequences.

She always feels like she is pressed on her back with numerous feet on her neck and Mirage Mewtwo squeezes her neck when she starts mouthing off at Dr. Yung. It represents how suffocating it feels for her to talk about her problems due to the environment she lived in back in Vermillion City. Her second artifact is a necklace that lets her summon a demon whenever she wants.

** Her black attire, firepower, love of fighting, closeness to Specter (during the Cyan Desert Arc) and direct ability to summon demons instead of just imagining them bring to mind Koharu Sakuragi from ''Fanfic/InfinityTrainBoilingPoint''.

* KarmaHoudini: Despite her verbal lashing at Professor Sycamore nearly causing [[spoiler: the end of the world by the professor's hand]], she doesn't really face any consequences beyond a stern lecture from Auric. Even Sycamore, who has the right to at least be a bit angry at her, immediately forgives her for it.

* BackhandedApology: Post Cyan Desert, her apology to Ash is filled with caveats about how he still screwed up a ton, as opposed to the Blossom Chloe whose apology was far more genuine.

* BoringButPractical: What type of weapon does the famous Chloe of the Vermillion use? A donut holer. It's not as flashy as a well-crafted sword from the Monster City Car, doen't have magic like Amelia's Ice Wand and isn't made of crystal like Yuri's own sword, but a good swing of a heavy pipe to one's face is going to ''hurt'' in the morning.

* BullyMagnet: Was bullied at school for her "privileged" life of being a professor's daughter, to the point that she's unfazed by Asher freaking out at seeing Marchosias' seal on her sheath and begins listing ''every single thing'' she has had to go through at school. Asher tells her that even ''if'' Chloe conformed to their wishes, they still would've bullied her cause they enjoyed her suffering. Near the end of the Cyan Desert Car, when the classmates admit that if they realized ''who'' they were bullying, they wouldn't have done so. Chloe, however, remarks that it ''wouldn't'' have mattered; regardless of her status, they would've bullied her because they just wanted to hurt ''someone'' and not care of the consequences.
