* UnholyMatrimony: She and Puriel (who played Zeus) are actually married.

Lies is a handicapped Seosten whose possession power comes with a serious flaw. Once she takes control of someone, she's stuck there until the host dies. For this reason, her treatment at the hands of her people has been... less than ideal. [[spoiler: She is currently possessing the Eden's Garden Heretics Pace. All the personality related tropes on her entry apply to Lies.]]

The Fomorians are another inter-dimensional powerhouse on par with the Seosten, their most hated enemy. They're bio-engineers that field armies their monstrous creations. They tried to invade earth in the late nineteenth century, at roughly the same time as the beginning of the UsefulNotes/SpanishAmericanWar. It lasted a few years until Gaia Sinclaire, working with an independent Heretic named Joshua [[spoiler: Atherby]], managed to seal them off from earth [[HeroicSacrifice at the cost of Joshua's life]].

[[spoiler: The human race as a whole is one of their experiments, designed to be capable of taking on the traits of other races and interbreeding with them. They want the human race back.]]

* AncientAliens: [[spoiler: They created the human race, and a traitor brought them to earth.]]

* BodyHorror: The only term that can adequately describe what they do to their "experiments."

"Grandfather" is a traitor to the Fomorians who stole some early biological prototypes many thousands of years ago and destroyed all the data that led to their creation. He is hated and reviled by his people to this day.

A former Seostenic infiltrator who abandoned her people to marry a human she had fallen in love with. [[spoiler: An Eden's Garden Heretic named Haiden, to be exact. They went on to have twin children, Vanessa and Tristan]]. Her former colleagues later found her and attempted to retrieve her, which didn't end well.

This implies that she usually functions as an assassin. [[spoiler: Which is backed up by the fact that she was apparently brought in to help murder Avalon.]]

* OvertOperative: Long-term infiltration missions aren't Charmeine's forte. WordOfGod states that she's more used to quicker missions, specifically assassinations. [[spoiler: She drops all pretense and outright kidnaps Flick when she realizes that she's been compromised.]]

* AmbiguouslyBi: She's only shown to be in a long and committed relationship with a woman. But as she played Aphrodite once upon a time, it's possible that she's occasionally attracted to men as well.

* Satan: Apollo's original Seosten name is Lucifer, Apollo was the bringer of light, so Puriel thought that by associating that title with the ultimate evil he could shame Apollo into returning. It didn't work, of course.

* Troll: All those myths where Zeus engages in shenanigans for the sake of sleeping around? Apollo spread those just to annoy Puriel.

* Foil: To Sariel. [[spoiler: Both Seosten women fell in love with a human, but Jophiel lacks Sariel's doubts about their people's methods. So while Sariel ran off with Haiden, Jophiel actually ''recruited'' Elisabet.]]

* VillainousFriendship: Calling the two friends might be pushing it, but Fahsteth has a cordial relationship with Fossor.

* MundaneUtility: His ghosts can serve as cigarette lighters. Seriously.

* VillainousFriendship: With Fahsteth, an old prison mate from his youth. The two of them remain cordial with each other after thousands of years.

* OutOfCharacterAlert: [[spoiler: Her Columbus impersonation is good enough to fool Shiori (at least while she's distracted by her own problems), but she has a minor slip-up when Flick makes a reference to Columbus' [[{{ComicBook/Cyclops}} favorite superhero]] that flies over her head. Unfortunately she corrects herself fast enough that Flick doesn't even notice.]]

* SmugSnake: Charmeine looks down on basically everyone that isn't on her side and takes pleasure in tormenting her hosts. [[spoiler: The attitude starts to fall flat when she fails to notice that Flick is on to her.]]

* TheManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler: He's responsible for basically every bad thing that ever happened to Avalon before she came to Crossroads. Her mother's death, Fahsteths' attack, her father's vampirism, and Torv's rape attempt were all his ideas.]]

* EvilerThanThou May or may not be on the receiving end of this from Fossor. It was the Great Evil that convinced ancient Heretics to team up with Fossor, who promptly used the opportunity to launch the BlackDeath. Whether or not this prevented the Evil from achieving its goals at the time is unknown.

* WouldHurtAChild: Oh yeah. He has no problem [[ImAHumanitarian eating]], or [[spoiler: massacring]] innocent Bystanders.

* TheNicknamer: A habit of her's. She calls Fezzik "[[IronicNickname Shorty]]" and a new recruit ([[spoiler:Roxa]]) "Pup."
