* HellOfAHeaven: {{Play|ingWithATrope}}ed with. Heaven itself is, for the most part, rather idyllic, people that ascended there being polite and decent. The problem stems from its ''staff''. Most of the known Angelic characters are shown to be a different kind of unpleasant: the members of C.H.E.R.U.B. are willing to protect anyone regardless of their sins if they're properly paid or even if their target ''wants'' to live anymore; the bureaucrats like Deerie are extremely condescending and willing to banish their own for even a single mistake; the Extermination Angels are shown to be sadistic pricks using the excuse of "stopping an uprising" to justify exterminating Sinners with impunity, with Adam in particular being a misogynistic asswipe who would gladly subject Hell to genocide if he could; and the entire reason for Hell's existence and Lucifer and Lilith's damnation to it being because they dared to go against Heaven's intended plan in favor of demonstrating free will and wanting to punish them by surrounding them with only the ''worst'' humanity has to offer. Sera, Emily, and [[spoiler:Vaggie]] are the only real exceptions, as Sera only authorizes the exterminations out of genuine fear that Hell will rise against Heaven and wanting to protect her people while disproving of Adam and Lute's sadism, Emily disapproving of the exterminations and finding herself agreeing with Charlie after seeing how Angel Dust fits the criteria to be in Heaven yet isn't, and [[spoiler:Vaggie]] being made into a FallenAngel for sparing a demon child rather than just killing them like Lute wanted resulting in their being maimed and left for dead.

* AssholeVictim: Cheating on his wife before death ceratnily doesn't endear him to anyone, the fact that he knew that Martha had a husband and kids only shows that he didn't care about being a potential homewrecker either.

* {{Idiot Hero}}: Their idea of armaments for their security team are a bunch of weapons from the Edo Period against I.M.P, who have a multitude of firearms as well as explosives, and have Millie, who is far more skilled with melee weaponry than any of the agents are, and Loona, who is both extremely strong and fast and has a variety of natural weapons, such as her incredible bite strength and claws. Their excuse? They think the Edo Period was badass. They also forget to ask Blitzo and Moxxie any questions during their interrogation of them after they doused them with a gaseous truth serum and were much more concerned with watching them freak out.

* HarmfulToMinors: They end up watching their teacher kill her adulterous husband and then herself on a live video call.

* AllForNothing: They attempt to get someone as horrible as Lyle Lipton into heaven with the implication that they are only doing it for their reputation since they don't even think that he is a good person to begin with. By the end of their debut episode, not only do they accidentally kill Lyle themselves after they break into a fight with I.M.P. right after he finally seems to have an epiphany that his life does have meaning, they are also banned from ever returning to heaven as a result while Lyle still went to Hell. [[spoiler: "Welcome To Heaven" from "Hazbin Hotel" eventually reveals that [[BlackBox not even the Angel leadership of heaven know what it takes to actually get into heaven even when Sinners try to redeem themselves]], just when a new soul arrives there, implying that C.H.E.R.U.B.'s plan to redeem Lyle was never going to work to begin with.]]

* CorruptedCharacterCopy: Agent One and Two are likely parodies of the popular [[Series/TheXFiles]] protagonists Agent Mulder and Agent Scully, being a male and female duo obsessed with exposing supernatural evidence to the world, while the difference is that Agent One and Two willing to do so via illegal and oppressive means.
