!!Main Protagonists

The main character, a dolphin. He is the most down-to-Earth of the group (although Ming and Ranjeet come close, but aren't quite there due to Ming's snark and Ranjeet being a bit easily distracted). Despite being smart and logical, he still sometimes has a lapse in judgment because he's still quite young.

* AmbiguousSituation: Is "Protector" really his last name?
* MisterStrangenoun: If "Protector" really is his last name, then it's a rather unusual last name.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He felt bad for signing Tama up for a game that turned out to be run by the Info Gang, until Kui told him it wasn't his fault.
* VagueAge: He's clever, and he's older than Tama, but he's still not an adult so it's unknown how old he is.

Sprat's best friend, a crab and the most technologically-competent member of the main group. He is very energetic and likes clowns and video games.

* ButtMonkey: Apparently, he's a "magnet for trouble".
* Geek: Likes computers and video games. Ming actually suggested "Geek" as a username for him.
* GenkiBoy: He's very enthusiastic, especially if clowns or games are involved.
* InSeriesNickname: "Super Crab", which he uses as a username.
* MrFixIt: Downplayed. While he couldn't fix Sprat's father's faulty computer but he is known to be good at computer repair in general.
* VagueAge: He hangs out with only Aretha (although Aretha could be an adult) and has a relatively low voice, but he's frequently stated to be a schoolkid and is just learning about cybersafety.

Ranjeet's best friend, a fish. Sprat is nearly as enthusiastic as Ranjeet and likes listening to music.

* ButtMonkey: Ming calls him, along with Ranjeet, a "magnet for trouble".
* GenkiBoy: Nearly as enthusiastic as Ranjeet.
* ALizardNamedLiz: His name, "Sprat", means "little fish".
* VagueAge: Is older than Tama, has a higher voice than Ranjeet, and is allowed to be home alone, so his age is a mystery.

A smart, but rather uptight and snarky, clam and the only female in the main group (Kui appears a lot, but she's not really one of the group).

* CryingCritters: She appears to cry (although it's hard to tell underwater) when she sees a photo of herself with a moustache and glasses.
* DeadpanSnarker: Tends to scoff and make snide remarks.
* EmbarrassmentPlot: In "You're Not Alone", she's deeply embarrassed by a photo of herself with a mustache and glasses.
* InSeriesNickname: She uses "Clamgirl" as a username.
* LittleMissSnarker: Is very snarky and probably not any older than fifteen.
* NotSoAboveItAll: While she usually just gets exasperated if something doesn't go her way, she actually gets sad in "You're Not Alone" when she sees a photo of herself with a mustache and glasses.
* OneOfTheBoys: Her closest friends are all boys.
* VagueAge: While she's snarky and seems to be more worldly than the others, she's much smaller than her mother and appears to be a schoolkid.

A jellyfish who is the youngest and most naive of the group.

* BadassUnintentional: He helped defeat the Info Gang by simply overhearing them.
* CheerfulChild: Is the youngest and he's very cheery.
* ConstantlyCurious: Maybe not constantly, but he's the most inquisitive.
* ElectricJellyfish: When he stings, electrical sound effects play and there appears to be a spark of electricity.
* GenkiBoy: Pretty excitable.
* InnocentBlueEyes: Is the youngest, most impressionable member of the group and has blue eyes.
* KidHero: He overhears the Info Gang's plan, leading to their arrest.
* LiteralMinded: He thinks that "strong" passwords have big muscles and that when Constable Solosolave thinks something is "afoot", it means he wants to investigate Ranjeet's foot.
* VagueAge: He's the youngest, but we don't know exactly how old he is.

An old whale, who often gives Hector (but so far, no one else) advice. She's pretty mysterious; whenever she appears, the surroundings become surrealist and she's described as a "spirit" but doesn't seem ghostly. She doesn't get introduced in the intro but is listed as a main protagonist because her character profile is in the town hall and she's seen in the background of the intro.

* TheConfidant: Gives Hector good advice.
* CoolOldLady: Is "ancient" and the best one to turn to for advice.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: It's unknown if she's really a "spirit" and what that entails.

The police chief and a seahorse. Frequently talks about his "policing senses" and is a noble officer.

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Wears a police hat.
* FriendToAllChildren: He seems to be very good with kids.
* VerbalTic: He says, "eh?" at the end of his sentences a lot.

!!Antagonists

A girl fish who appears in "You're Not Alone", having made a photo of Ming with a mustache and glasses. At first, she seems like a stereotypical "mean girl" bully, but then it turns out that she did not mean to offend Ming and only made the altered photo as a joke.

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Wears a belt for no reason.
* AlphaBitch: Subverted. She seems like a stereotypical snobby girl but turns out not to be.
* TheBully: Subverted. She appears to cyberbully Ming, but then she apologizes and it's revealed that it was only a joke gone wrong.
* HeroAntagonist: She's an antagonist because she caused the conflict and offended Ming, but she didn't intend to do it.

Another fish who follows Bella around.

* BetaBitch: Subverted. Appears to be a stereotypical "mean girl sidekick" but actually didn't mean to offend Ming at all.
* TheBully: Subverted. Like Bella, she didn't intend to bully Ming.
* HeroAntagonist: Like Bella, she doesn't mean to cause the conflict and offends Ming, but does so anyway.
* IDontThinkThatsSuchAGoodIdea: Was the first one to doubt the photo.

The leader of the Info Gang, who got arrested not only for his crimes of stealing information and selling it, but also for making spam (which is illegal in Silicon Deep) and "inking without a license".

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Wears a hat.
* Ahem: He once clears his throat to get the attention of his minions.
* ConMan: Tricked the kids (except Ming) into giving out their personal details for him to sell and he also apparently made spam in the past.

* MonsterClown: Is evil and worked as a clown at the carnival.
* NonMammalianHair: Has a mustache.
* TentacledTerror: Is an evil squid.

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: Humphrey wears a clown's nose and wig and Wazza wears a clown's wig, collar, and buttons.
* ADogNamedDog: A clownfish named "Clownfish".
* MonsterClown: Like Squid, they're scam artists and work as clowns.
* MyGrandmaCanDoBetterThanYou: At one point, Humphrey says, "My grandmother can juggle better than you!" to which Wazza replies, "Yeah, well, my great-grandmother can balance better than you."

Ranjeet's other best friend, who works in the Tech Cave.

Constable Solosolave's friend, another seahorse cop who specializes in cybercrime.

* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: He wears a police hat.
