* DidntThinkThisThrough: Evil-Lyn and Trap Jaw combine their powers to create the Dreadwing, a {{Magitek}} fighter jet in the shape of a massive bat. Their hostage at the time, Justine, innocently asks them how they'll get the Dreadwing out of the chamber they created it in since the Dreadwing nearly fills the entire space. There's a pause as the realization dawns on them before the Dark Masters all tell her to shut up. They ''do'' get it out of Snake Mountain, but we never see how.

* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: The Power of Havoc turned R'Qazz and Kronis into pretty ugly hulking monsters, but for some reason just gave Evelyn a makeover and long hair, the most monstrous of her changes being her now purple eyes and a pair of magical bat wings growing out of her head.

It's implied that this is at least partly because Havoc brings out your inner darkness, which for a {{Narcissist}} would logically include looking attractive.

* AdaptationalUgliness: While previous Skeletors were never pretty pictures to begin with, this one has his left hand forearm melted into a ''skeleton''.

* BreakingOldTrends: This is the first time since the minicomics and 1983 where Skeletor hasn't worn a cape, whereas his 2002, 2012 comics, and ''Revelation'' counterparts wore one. This is [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] because capes are notoriously difficult to animate in CGI.

* {{Claustrophobia}}: Her parents were killed when their ship crashed, she herself only surviving because she had her father's helmet on, and she was trapped in the wreck for ''three days'' before the Tiger Tribe could get her out. She thus understandably has a bit of a panic attack when trapped in a different ship under a pile of rubble.

The artbook establishes that Eldress killing all the Aquaticans was not an accident, but rather intentional - to quote page 80, "after King Grayskull turned evil, Eldress was forced to freeze Leviathae to keep the Mer-Folk from helping him wipe out all life on Eternia."
