The titular character of the series, Kim Shin was a general in 1078 Goryeo who was executed by King Wang Yeo for an apparent rebellion and was cursed by the gods to live as an immortal dokkaebi. His curse can only be lifted by his bride pulling his sword impaling his body, after which he can finally die and enter the afterlife.
