BigDamnHug: After initially saying she'd have to kill D if she acknowledged him as an Invader, [[spoiler: toward the climax of the Three Way Battle arc she hugs him while asking him to team up to defeat Death Messiah]].

Added DiffLines:

* MirrorCharacter: Arguably, to D. Both start off with a single minded hate towards the other side in the Ranger-Invader war, develop a disdain for their superiors (Though specifically Red in Hisui's case, as opposed to all Executives for D), and react with short sighted hostility and violence towards their enemy. Both also bond with some among their enemy (the cadets and later Green Battalion for D, D himself for Hisui) and are forced to change their views (with D first feeling conflicted over fighting all the Rangers, and later wondering if he really needed to kill Chidori, while Hisui admits even if she wants to destroy all the invaders, she cares about D enough to want to know what he thinks).

* BrokenHero: Despite joining the rangers to fight the Invaders, he eventually realized that he wasn't cut out for all the fighting, and instead got away from it by just becoming a ranger worker who helps maintain the Bailong's Nest. * SurprisinglySuddenDeath: Just when it looked like he was on the verge of making peace with XX, [[spoiler:he's suddenly shot and killed by Executive Peltrola. He would return during the climax of the Three Way Battle arc and dubbed himself the "White Ranger" before leading the other colorless candidates into battle. The title and leadership position wouldn't last long, however, as he would drop after he joined Hibiki's Neo Rangers

* AttackAttackAttack: Given his dumbness, Tsukasa doesn't really come up with any strategy when fighting his enemies. As seen in the Bailong Nest training against Footsoldier holograms, he just brute forces it by attacking them head on.
* TheBait: During the Bailong Nest training against Footsoldier holograms, Tsukasa and D attempt to attack them head-on, but all that does is draw their attention to allow Angel and Sojiro to shoot them and score the kills. Sojiro even thanks them for being the lure.
* BoisterousBruiser: Make no mistake, this guy is as proud of his muscles as he is of himself, but beneath that is a mountain of strength that can pick up cars over his head, and even shake off ''energy swords''.
* TheBusCameBack: Shippo reappears along with Yamato and Renren after the three of them disappeared for about 60 chapters following the Bailong Exams. The three of them finally reappear during the Three-Way Battle arc as back-up for the Rangers against the Invaders and IRA.
* DistinctiveAppearances: His hair is highlighted multicolored.
* DumbMuscle: He takes the role of being the dumb one amongst the Colorless cadets. It's apparently so bad for Tsukasa that [[spoiler:even though he was part of the Colorless squad that eventually wins the Bailong Exams, none of the ranger battalions were willing to take him in due to how dumb he is]].
* ImprobableWeaponUser: During the Bailong Exams, he's seen in chapter 18 picking up a car and using it as a weapon against Pink Battalion's Masurao Nadeshiko.
* LargeHam: Not so much when he's shaking in his boots, but when he's confident he's the loudest thing in the room.
* TheRival: He ends up in this role with Renren. As the two Pink Battalion candidates, only one is allowed to pass the Bailong Exams.
* RivalsTeamUp: During the Bailong Exams, Tsukasa's forced to team up with Renren due to the two of them being put into a team as the two Pink Battalion candidates. However, this breaks apart once it becomes clear that only one candidate is allowed to pass, and the candidates end up forming 5-on-5 "strong" vs. "weak" teams.
* SixthRanger: Parodied. Because colorless rangers aren't recognized as a formal battalion Tsukasa took it upon himself to become the Keeper leading the unofficial White Battalion. He even [[CallingYourAttacks names his attacks]] even though they're basic martial arts and lacks the intricate naming conventions, instead just calling them stuff like "White Punch" or "White Kick."
* TheTeam: Once it became clear that Sojiro had put together a "strong team" aiming to win the Bailong Exams, Tsukasa falls in with D's "weak team" alongside Ranmaru, Yamato, and Angel, in order to face off against the "strong team."
* WorkoutFanservice: He's usually seen working out and lifting weights, and given how well-built his body is, he does this a lot.

Following the dissolution of the Invaders Rights Association and the restoration of the Rangers Association, Hibiki would lead his own splinter group known as the Neo Rangers.

* AdmiringTheAbomination: Despite D being an enemy Invader, Hibiki truly is amazed by what the former can do having powers that are beyond that of humans.
* AllForNothing: Basically says this word-for-word during his talk with D in chapter 8. His desire is to bring peace, but Hibiki starts crying due to his inability to tell the world about the sham fights between the Dragon Keepers and Dusters as he was almost caught by rangers during the phone call, which is the moment Hibiki learns that the corruption in the Ranger Association runs deep. However, D cheers him up a bit that he just has to defeat all the enemies before him, including D.
* AnArmAndALeg: He tears off his arm during the fight with Hekiru in order to prove his resolve to reform the Rangers and in order to make his disguise as D more convincing.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: In chapter 8 during his attempt to befriend D, Hibiki asks D why the latter wishes to fight so badly (D keeps trying to fight Hibiki despite having a bad injury from Blue Keeper's Divine Tool). D replies with the simple answer that it's because he hates him, but that still doesn't stop Hibiki from wanting to know more about D.
* {{Backstory}}: Chapter 11 delves into his backstory through a story that Hibiki tells to D. The explanation under Hibiki's DarkAndTroubledPast trope goes into more detail regarding it.
* BefriendingTheEnemy: Believes that humans and invaders can live side-by-side, and thus tries to befriend invaders D and XX. He seems to be successful in both regards.
* TheBet: Before splitting up, Hibiki and D make a bet regarding how they will deal with the Ranger Association. Either D fully destroys the Ranger Association, or Hibiki manages to fix the Ranger Association before D fully destroys it.
* BodyHorror: [[spoiler:Hekiru's acid completely destroys his body, leaving horrific burns all over and scarring his scalp. Nobody can recognize him at first glance--which works for him just fine when he's sneaking around and obtaining information.]]
* TheBusCameBack: After being gone from the story since chapter 12, Hibiki starts to pop up again around the Dreamy School Life arc; showing that he's been lone working behind-the-scenes towards his overall goal.
* CommonalityConnection: During his attempt to befriend D in chapter 8, Hibiki claims that he has this with D given that they're both parentless. The Footsoldiers were just beings made by the Executives, and Hibiki's parents dying in the war with the Invaders.
* CrazyPrepared: When he sets out to accomplish something, Hibiki will usually have the necessary tools with him that he prepared beforehand.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite being seen as a {{cloudcuckoolander}} by his colleagues for his idealistic views, it is said that he's the first amongst his batch of colorless recruits to be able to take down a Kaijin invader in their simulation training.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:At a time when Hibiki was 4 years old, his parents were cultists who worshipped a monster-like entity (Peltrola) whom they believed was a "God" who would save them from the Kaijin army invasion. Said "God" killed them during a sermon, while his athletic older sister Sesera became crippled protecting him. Motivated by the original Red Keeper he watched on TV, he gains a HeroicResolve to join the Rangers in order to protect whoever's left that's dear to him.]]
* {{Determinator}}: He remains determined to achieve his goal of wanting peace between Humanity and the Invaders. So much so that he's willing to put up with anything if it means that he can befriend D. [[spoiler:His determination is so crazy that he even cuts off his own right arm just to make sure that D survives]].
* DisguisedHostageGambit: The plan he puts together with D in order to fool Hekiru revolves around this. [[spoiler:Near the end of their fight with Hekiru, it looks like D has taken Hibiki hostage when in actuality, it's Hibiki disguised as "D" that is holding D as "Hibiki" hostage. It gets to a point where "Hibiki" chops "D's" fake head off, which is enough to fool Hekiru into believing that Hibiki stayed loyal to the rangers. Thus, allowing D to infiltrate the Ranger Association still disguised as "Hibiki"]].
* DistressedDude: Hibiki ends up getting imprisoned at the IRA during the Three-Way Battle arc. [[spoiler:He's freed by XX given that she likes him]].
* DressingAsTheEnemy: In order to make the switcheroo plan with D succeed, Hibiki dresses himself up as "D" as D takes the form of "Hibiki." D as "Hibiki" then proceeds to pretend to kill "D" off, which fools Hekiru into believing that Hibiki killed the footsoldier.
* ExactEavesdropping: In chapter 3, he overhears a conversation between Yumeko and D where he catches on that D's a footsoldier attempting to infiltrate and destroy the Ranger Association. Hibiki confronts D over this after coming up with an excuse to get the latter away from Yumeko, but after hearing the truth from D about their neverending sham battles with the Dragon Keepers, he offers D a team-up to change the Ranger Association for the better from within so that they can all live in peace.
* ExoticEyeDesigns : He has small star shaped pupils in his eyes.
* {{Fanboy}}: His backstory as a young kid shows him off as one towards the Red Dragon Keeper after watching the Dragon Keepers fight on TV, which he's left impressed by their heroism. Though that might not be the case anymore in the current day after what he learned about the Dragon Keepers' sham battles from D.
* {{Foil}}: To Yumeko. Both are the first people D runs into after putting his plan into motion, and both of them want to ally themselves with D for their goals, but that's where the similarities end. Hibiki is a lowly cadet with a heart of gold, whereas Yumeko is the powerful NumberTwo of the Yellow Battalion and is AmbiguouslyEvil. Their goals and respective approaches are also wildly different, with Hibiki making a bet with D and working from the outside to reform the Ranger Association without relying on his help, while Yumeko forces D into helping her kill the Dragon Keepers while maintaining her cover as a Junior First Class. Their eyes also heavily contrast, with the outwardly idealistic Hibiki having [[ExoticEyeDesigns star-shaped pupils]] while the secretly cruel Yumeko has DullEyesOfUnhappiness.
* GoalInLife: He really seems to believe that everyone can live in peace, even the rangers and invaders. Thus, he's determined to make it happen, such as befriending D after finding out that the latter's trying to infiltrate the Ranger Association. He also learns from D that the battles between the Ranger Dragon Keepers and the Footsoldiers has all been one big sham that's been going on for 12 years, which it becomes Hibiki's goal to reveal the truth to the world, and reform the Ranger Association into something that's not corrupt.
** Another goal of his is that he wants to free his sister from whatever has her trapped. [[spoiler:His sister turns out to be the Pink Dragon Keeper, which makes it clear that Hibiki wants to save her from the Ranger Association, and from D potentially being the one that kills her given D's goal to defeat the 5 Dragon Keepers]].
* HeartwarmingOrphan: His parents were killed in the first year of the war with the Kijin. After meeting Blue Keeper, Sakurama decided that he didn't want what happened to him and his sister to happen to any other child, and maintains positive ideals.
%%* He and his sister were both rescued by the previous Blue Keeper, which inspired them to join the Rangers
* HeroicResolve: Despite being just a 4 year old boy, [[spoiler:and up against a "God" that had just killed many humans, including his mom and dad, Hibiki stood ready before Executive Peltrola to protect his older sister, who had just become crippled due to rubble falling upon her]].
* HeroOfAnotherStory: As readers of the series follow along with D's journey to infiltrate the Rangers, Hibiki's got his own adventure going on behind-the-scenes where he pushes towards his goal of achieving peace between humanity and the aliens.
* HeroWorshipper: His backstory makes it quite clear that watching the Dragon Keepers fighting on his home TV left a major impact on Hibiki to the point of respecting the rangers' heroism, and wanting to become a ranger himself. He becomes a fan of the Red Dragon Keeper in particular to the point that he's even quoting Red Keeper's lines. In the current day, Hibiki's become a ranger, but his opinion on the Dragon Keepers ends up changing due to his encounter with D, and finding out that the Dragon Keepers' fights with the Footsolder Dusters is all one big sham.
* HiddenDepths: Despite coming off as an all-around NiceGuy, he's also one heck of a crazy schemer in order to get what he wants, [[spoiler:such as having the balls to ''cut off his own hand'' just to pull off the switcheroo plot with D]].
* HostageSituation:
** In chapter 10, D tries to invoke this situation to stop Hekiru from attacking him by taking Hibiki hostage and threatening to kill him. Unfortunately for both of them, Hekiru's someone who will gladly ShootTheHostage to kill the target, which forces D to let Hibiki go.
** D pulls this stunt again on Hibiki two chapters later. [[spoiler:Only this time around, Hibiki's working with him disguised as "D" while D is disguised as "Hibiki." The result is "Hibiki" making it look like he chopped off "D's" head in order to make the watching Hekiru believe that Hibiki killed the footsoldier that was keeping him hostage. The plan works, which allows D to infiltrate the Ranger Association disguised as "Hibiki" while the real Hibiki disappears from the picture in order to follow his own path]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: His fellow Colorless cadet, Eigen Urabe, calls him out as one in chapter 13 for fighting and defeating a footsoldier despite all the times that Hibiki's claimed that they can make peace with the Invaders if they just talked to him. This is false as at the time, [[spoiler:Eigen doesn't know that Hibiki and D had already teamed up and swapped places, which Eigen was actually saying this to D]].
* InternalReformist: Rather than destroy the rangers, he wants to fix them, and make a society where rangers and villains can live side-by-side. Mook D rejects him because he truly wants revenge against the rangers for what they did to his race, as do a couple of his Colorless colleagues for thinking that a comparatively bloodless solution is possible.
* InTheHood: In chapter 4, Hibiki's seen wearing a hooded jacket while phoning someone in a phonebooth to keep people from noticing that he's revealing to someone on the other end the truth that he learned from D regarding the scripted matches between the Dragon Keepers and Footsoldiers.
** Later on, Hibiki goes around wearing a hooded cloak to hide his identity. [[spoiler:This is due to the fact that D is using his disguise as "Hibiki" to rise up in the Ranger Association, so the real Hibiki has to keep people from noticing that he's out away from the association]].
* MrExposition: He provides some information to D as to how the Ranger Association works, such as explaining the battalion ranger rankings from the highest ranked First Class to the lowest ranked Independent.
* MoralityChain: Eventually becomes this for D. [[spoiler:He even shows up in D's thoughts as the personification of his conscience.]]
* NiceGuy: As far as we know, he truly believes that the Rangers should be a force of good, and acts accordingly. He's respectful to his fellow rangers, does his best when in front of civilians, and most importantly is willing to hear out D's side of the conflict, unlike his higher-ups.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: He has no issue with getting up real close to D when he spots the latter taking the exams to become a new colorless cadet. D doesn't appreciate it one bit. It happens again later on when D gets annoyed at Hibiki trying to get a closer look at the gapping hole injury that a Divine Tool left on D's chest.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: Basically says this to D in chapter 12 that if D is someone who truly wants all the fighting to end, then their goals are the same.
* ThePlan: After hearing the truth from D about the never ending sham battles between the Dragon Keepers and Duster footsoldiers, Hibiki becomes determined to work alongside D so that the two of them can change the Ranger Association from the inside for the better of everyone. [[spoiler:After pulling off a switcheroo to get D into the Ranger Association as a cadet disguised as "Hibiki Sakurama," the real Hibiki disappears from the limelight to follow his own behind-the-scenes path towards said ideal]].
* PowerOfTrust: In order to help D escape from Hekiru, Hibiki comes up with a plan so insane that even D fines it too insane to attempt. However, Hibiki puts his faith in D that the two of them can pull it off given that it's because they're both after the same thing (a peaceful world for the Footsoldiers).
* PutOnABus: After playing a huge role early on, Hibiki disappears from the story after chapter 12. [[spoiler:He goes into hiding after allowing D to replace him, knowing the latter would be outed if someone were to recognize that there are ''two of him'' going about]]. Hibiki briefly reappears again dozens of chapters later showing that he remains solo and out of sight as he works towards achieving his goal.
* RivalsTeamUp: Desires this with D for the sake of the plan for a world where everyone can live in peace.
** Hibiki tries to get Footsoldier D to team up with him at first so that the two of them can work together to fix the Ranger Association, but fails to do so after D witnesses Red Keeper's murder of Footsoldier F, which cements D's motivation that the Dragon Keepers need to go.
** D's eventually forced to team up with Hibiki from chapter 10 onward in order to survive against Hekiru, who was ordered to hunt for D following the successful theft of Red Keeper's Divine Tool. This of course leads into the [[spoiler:switcheroo plot where D as "Hibiki" fake kills Hibiki as "D" in front of Hekiru to make it look like Hibiki did his ranger duty killing off a footsoldier. Thus, allowing D to properly infiltrate the rangers as "Hibiki" while the real Hibiki disappears to go down his own path towards his goal]].
* RoseHairedSweetie: All early impressions of the young man exhibit positive moral character, even after he learns D tried to infiltrate and destroy the Rangers.
* SecretKeeper: He's one of the few people that knows about D's infiltration into the Ranger Association. [[spoiler:Doubly so in that his FakingTheDead plan allowed for D to properly infiltrate the Ranger Association as a cadet under the "Hibiki Sakurama" disguise]].
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He has a uniquely designed set of eyes, which he shares with his sister, Sesera.
* TheStoolPigeon: A heroic variation. He knows to an extent that his organization is teeming with corruption, and has attempted multiple times to contact the outside so the facade can be exposed. However, he's either interrupted or intercepted every time.
* TacticalWithdrawal: In chapter 10, he runs off with D the moment Hekiru was distracted, which the two of them come up with a plan to truly deal with Hekiru.
* TraumaCongaLine: Contrast to D forming his own sense of justice, it seems like the world is constantly kicking Hibiki down at every turn. He starts out as a promising but ultimately stagnant Colorless with ideals that nobody he knows understands or agrees with, but over the course of a few months he: [[spoiler:loses his hand and scars his body protecting an Invader, becomes utterly unrecognizable afterwards and scares off civilians with his appearance, accidentally harms a Ranger while trying to protect himself, becomes the reason his sister gets a grievous injury while trying to save his life, and has the aforementioned harmed Ranger accuse him of being an Invader in disguise and getting Pink Keeper killed on purpose.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: It's almost impossible to talk about him without giving away that there's a massive switcheroo scheme going on between him and D.
* WideEyedIdealist: He heavily believes that humanity can find a way to peacefully co-exist with the Kaijins, which leads many of his colleagues to see him as a {{cloudcuckoolander}}.
* YesMan: In the past, he truly believed that his parents' words were always right. His sister even calls him out as being his parents' "yes-man" that just follows whatever they order him to do.

Nobody can recognize him at first glance--which works
[[Characters/GoGoLoserRangerNeoRangers Neo Rangers]] page for him just fine when he's sneaking around and obtaining information.]]
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite being seen as a {{cloudcuckoolander}} by his colleagues
for his idealistic views, it is said that he's the first amongst his batch of colorless recruits tropes relating to be able to take down a Kaijin invader in their simulation training.
* HostageSituation:
Hibiki.
