The Junior First Class ranger of the Pink Battalion. A tall and muscular man with short hair and a pencil moustache. An eloquent and polite man, he serves as Pink Keeper's personal assistant, helping her on her daily routine and programmed appointments.

* CurbStompBattle: The Pink Battalion candidates, Tsukasa and Shippo, were no match for him when they fought on the Bailong Exam's first day. So much so that Renren's seen all roughed up and exhausted once the first day of the exam was over while Masurao remained perfectly fine. Even though he's not seen with the other exhausted Colorless cadets as he immediately went back to the training room after the first day, it's implied that the same beatdown happened to Shippo.
* TheDriver: Since his boss is a paraplegic outside of her uniform, Masurao serves as Pink Keeper's dedicated driver.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: He's the big guy to Pink Keeper's tiny girl whenever they're seen together as members of Pink Battalion.
* MadeOfIron: When he confronts a group of thugs bothering a woman at the park, one of the thugs tries to punch Masurao in the face. Masurao's body is so hard that the thug's hand is left completely broken while Masurao's face remains perfectly fine.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: Aside from a thug breaking his hand when punching him the face, Masuro gave a bear hug to a Monster that killed it outright. Said monster towered over him and was significantly heavier too.
** In another case he deflected the blade of a Ranger tool by flexing his neck muscles and got away with only a shallow cut.
* NumberTwo: Serves as the second highest ranger in Pink Battalion.
* RealMenWearPink: Mild mannered and both the tallest and most muscular out of all Rangers, not just pink battalion.

One of the two Yellow Battalion candidates amongst Hibiki's Colorless cadet group. Yamato comes off as the CasanovaWannabe of the bunch, and was the first to befriend D when the latter first arrived at the Bailong's Nest disguised as "Hibiki." Despite ending the exams on the winning cadet team, Yamato gives his spot to Angelica.

* BestFriend: In an attempt to suck up to Hibiki's sister, Sesera, Yamato claims that he's Hibiki's best friend, even though they've only been together for one day at the Bailong Nest.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Despite being the NiceGuy of the male cadets, even Yamato takes part in suddenly attacking the footsoldier holograms during training, and even calls out D that it's the faster method to resolve the problem.
* TheBusCameBack: Yamato reappears along with Renren and Shippo after the three of them disappeared for about 60 chapters following the Bailong Exams. The three of them finally reappear during the Three-Way Battle arc as back-up for the Rangers against the Invaders and IRA.

In order to finally win the Bailong Exams, Sojiro goes about creating a team that he believes to be the strongest, which puts his strong cadet team at odds with D's weak cadet team.
