One of the two Blue Battalion candidates amongst Hibiki's Colorless cadet group, and is friends with Eigen. Ranmaru is cowardly, but has a knack for tinkering with technology. Despite ending the exams on the winning cadet team, he ends up not passing due to injury.

Yumeko's introduced partnered up with the Independent ranger, Hibiki Sakurama, and meets Footsoldier D for the first time during one of her daily ranger routines. She discovers D's Duster identity during his first infiltration attempt, but instead of turning him in, Yumeko proposes that they work together in order to take down the Dragon Keepers and the Ranger Association. Her reasons for why she wants to end the Ranger Association isn't revealed to D. However, Yumeko desires to destroy the Ranger Association alongside him because she's a [[FanOfUnderdog fan of the underdog]].

She discovers D's Duster identity during his first infiltration attempt, but instead of turning him in, Yumeko proposes that they work together in order to take down the Dragon Keepers and the Ranger Association. While the real reason for why she wants to end the Ranger Association remains unknown, Yumeko desires to accomplish this alongside D because she's a [[FanOfUnderdog fan of the underdog]].

* WalkingSpoiler: It's almost impossible to talk about him without giving away that there's a [[spoiler:massive switcheroo scheme going on between him and D]].

After pulling a fake HeroicSacrifice switcheroo with Footsoldier D to save the latter's life, the two of them end up switching places. This allowed D to properly infiltrate the Ranger Assocation in a "Hibiki" disguise while the real Hibiki disappears from sight in order to move towards his goal of achieving peace behind-the-scenes.

As someone who's attempted the Bailong Exams multiple times, but hasn't been able to pass, Sojiro's the veteran of D's cadet group with the most experience of what it's like to be a Colorless ranger.

Hibiki's introduced partnered up with Yumeko Suzukiri for their daily ranger duties, which he pushes a disguised D to join the rangers when they first met. After discovering D's Duster identity from overhearing his conversation with Yumeko, and learning from D that the battles between the Dragon Keepers and Duster footsoldiers has all been a scripted sham, Hibiki proposes that they work together to change and reform the Ranger Association from the inside. Thus, creating a new generation where humanity and the Kaijin can live in peace. [[spoiler:Early on in the series, he decides to let D take on his identity so the latter can infiltrate the Ranger Association properly, while he removed himself from the picture to follow his own path towards his ideals.]]
