* DoggedNiceGuy: He fell in love with Crystel after she came across his injured form from losing another battle with Seimei [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe and offered to help him with his bleeding ass.]] Because of the enmity between their two clans however, the most he could do was watch her from afar. When Seimei offered a peace treaty between the clans, Doman used it as an opportunity to make an ArrangedMarriage with Crystal be the condition for it, Seimei agreeing out of guilt for their friendship breaking up long ago. Despite being married though, the relationship was surprisingly chaste, largely because Crystal didn't reciprocate his feelings, but he never forced himself on her and seemed more content just getting to be with her, the feud between the clans only restarting because Seimei helped Crystal end the marriage after seeiing how unhappy she was, with Antenmaru feeding on Doman's resentment of the Ketsuno siblings abandoning him. At the end of the Diviner arc, Doman has ultimately accepted that Crystal doesn't love him though, and is content with just being one of her fans.

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: After the cataclysmic events of the "Silver Soul" arc, the new Japanese government sees Katsura [[spoiler:ascending as Prime Minister--which is remarkable considering the highest his historical counterpart ever reached was primarily Imperial Advisor. Not that he gains any dignity for it--especially when he's publicly known as "[[UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump Donald Zurump]]"]].

* EverythingsBetterWithPenguins: Or ducks... or whatever Elizabeth is supposed to be.
