* Expy: Hotaru gains several extra stances when she appears in VideoGame/NeoGeoBattleColiseum (which is carried over to VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters XI). This makes it look like she's taking notes from Ling Xiaoyu, especially when one of the new stances is a crouching stance similar to Xiaoyu's. It also helps that both are cheery girls with pigtails who serve as the gentle girl to the brooding males who walk in a dark path and reject their pleas to return (Gato and Jin Kazama).

* DubNameChange: Although it's utterly absurd. The name "Marco Rodriguez" was dropped due to its similarity to a real martial artist, sure, but why was "Khushnood Butt" the winning replacement? This was eventually averted as of the story for King of Fighters XV, where he is referred to by his original name, Marco Rodrigues, for the first time in the official English translation of an SNK title.

And when he makes his playable return in City of the Wolves, he goes fully by his true name.

* JackOfAllStats: Like his father, Rock is an incredibly versatile character in most of his appearances. He has a solid projectile to zone with, a good approach tool that also acts as a projectile call-out in itself, a great (if a tad slow) command grab, and excellent anti-air options; he's the complete package and then some. All of this and the cherry on top go to his ease of use, often a relatively simple character to play.

* LimpAndLivid: His neutral stance is just him standing straight up with his arms at his sides with no appearance of a guard. His head is in the typical pose and he is constantly tensing his arms like he's ready to strangle his opponent at the first opportunity (he's a serial killer, after all). A lot of his attacks are also performed with a distinct lankiness to them that adds to the vibe that he's on the edge of control and only one attack away from going totally berserk.

* MovesetClone: He shares some similar moves to his brother Dong Hwan, which are based on the moveset of their father Kaphwan. Jae Hoon sticks with the forms his father teaches, by and large, only making minor adjustments (such his version of the Ryusei Raku employing a back-legged sweep instead of a front-legged slide) and adding a little ignition.

He does have some unique moves, though, such as the Shakka Shuu -- where he lifts his back leg forward and deflects any inbound attack before retaliating with a series of fast kicks.
