* BecomingTheMask: {{Inverted|Trope}}. Kristoff has put on a mask of being tough and untouchable for so long that he has come to believe it and it's Anna's job to remove the mask.

* BorrowedCatchphrase: "... Wait, what?"

* GoodSamaritan: Anna's "request" of him was simply to help guide her through the wilderness and reach Elsa's Ice Palace. Throughout the trip, he goes above and beyond doing ''just'' that.

* KnightInShiningArmor: Sans the armor...though he probably wouldn't admit it. At heart, he bears this trope in spirit, and his daring sequence in the finale brings it to the forefront.

* HappilyAdopted: As a young reindeer, he and a child Kristoff were taken in, loved, and nurtured by trolls.

* GentleGiant: He's sweet and pleasant for the most part, but when Kristoff makes the mistake of calling him a crook, he gets up out of his chair... revealing himself to be ''massive'', utterly towering over Kristoff (who himself is a pretty big, muscular guy). He then bodily throws Kristoff out with no effort whatsoever.

* FourthDateMarriage: ''Heavily'' ridicules Anna for wanting to marry Hans despite her having met him ''less than a day ago'', even going so far as to say that he doesn't trust her judgement as a result. Defied between him and Anna at the end where Anna explicitly says she wants to "date" him instead of marry him.

* IgnoredExpert: Kristoff has been ice-climbing most of his life for his ice-selling business. When he sees Anna attempt to ice-climb a near sheer cliff, he tries to tell her not to try without being properly prepared. She ignores him, and typically she barely gets a foot off the ground.

* MeaningfulName: In Scandinavian, 'Bjorg' means 'help' or 'salvation'. Fitting, given how he continually helps Anna and her journey even after he has no reason to.

* NiceGuy: At the end of the film, he finally becomes this to show that Hans wasn't really a [[BitchInSheepsClothing nice guy]] after all.

* TookALevelInIdealism: Through his adventure with Anna and Olaf, he learns to understand that while humans can be cruel, many of them are good, and willing to help each other.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Originally they were evil and selfish. Here, they may be meddlesome, but they're also kind and always willing to help.
** Although the way trolls behave depends on how you treat them, if you were nice or nasty to them they'd respond in kind, and judging by the way that Agdar and Iduna react towards the trolls means that the trolls are respected in that particular kingdom.
