badass princes / actiongirl clean up

* ActionGirl: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. She smacks down a wolf with a lute, hurls flaming wreckage at two more, saves Kristoff from falling into a chasm, knocks a giant {{Snowlem|s}} over with a tree, and [[spoiler:punches her ex-fiancé in the face, sending him flying over a railing]]. Still the story places more focus on her [[PluckyGirl plucky]] aspects than her action ones.

* BadassAdorable: Hikes through a mountain, fights off wolves and still looks so cute throughout the movie.

Added DiffLines:

* ChildrenAreInnocent: Anna was a very idealistic, naive and happy go lucky child. She was the type to feel that nothing could ever go wrong. Unfortunately for Anna, something went severely wrong when Elsa accidentally almost killed her with her magic while they were playing together. The accident had serious consequences which includes having Anna's [[LaserGuidedAmnesia memories of Elsa's magic wiped]], not having social contact with others, and having an estranged and distant relationship with Elsa. Interestingly enough, Anna's actions of wanting to play with Elsa were the catalyst for everything that happened in the story yet Anna was too young and innocent to understand what was going on at the time.
* TheChosenOne: Played With. Anna has been described as being the MessianicArchetype role, the one who is meant to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. It could be argued that without Anna in the story, Elsa and the rest of the kingdom of Arendelle would be damned to an EndlessWinter forever. Anna is clearly the only one who was able to conduct a HeroicSacrifice to save Arendelle as she is the only emotional tie to Elsa. If Anna didn't exist or if she died permanently, Elsa and the rest of the kingdom would be doomed. Nobody else would have successfully gotten through to Elsa other than Anna. In other words, Anna could be perceived as "the chosen one" to unthaw Arendelle using ThePowerOfLove.

Along the way on their journey, they encounter many times when they have to battle numerous obstacles such as werewolves and a large ice monster.

You need to elaborate the "beauty" part, otherwise it's just The Ditz.

* BrainlessBeauty: Downplayed. Anna can be very idealistic and naive and other characters, such as Elsa and Kristoff, are there to serve as the OnlySaneMan to spit some common sense and logic to Anna every once in a while. This doesn't mean that Anna isn't capable of being smart and clever though.

Added DiffLines:

* BigSisterWorship: Despite their estranged relationship, Anna seems to have a strong admiration for her older sister Elsa. She seems to admire her and is amazed by what she is capable of. Such admiration is obvious when Anna and Elsa are children playing together and Anna cannot help but be in awe of Elsa's magic. In addition, Anna is very motivated and determined to rebuild the relationship with her sister as she misses how close they were in their childhood. In turn, Elsa has strong BigSisterInstinct towards Anna and is a CoolBigSis towards her.

Added DiffLines:

* TheAntiNihilist: Despite Anna growing up in grim situations and having a rather dysfunctional and troubled childhood, Anna never stopped believing that one day, it would get better. She extends the same attitude and outlook regarding her sister Elsa and their relationship. She believes that despite Elsa shutting her out for many years, not being able to control her powers, and accidentally setting off an EndlessWinter upon Arendelle that she is worthy of saving and helping. Her optimistic personality won't allow her to not believe that everything will get better with time and that fighting for it is how it can happen.
* AnythingThatMoves: Downplayed. Anna is so desperate for romance that she will pretty much fall for any guy that she comes into contact with. It's justified because for the majority of her life, she has felt isolated lonely, neglected, abandoned and generally unloved. Anna wanted to marry Hans the very same day that they met. One of Anna's character flaws is that she is incredibly naive about romance and true love, which is something that she learns about later in the story.

* ManipulativeBastard: He has very little direct impact on the plot, and doesn't need it to pull off his plan — he's very good at manipulating people in minor ways to push them where he needs them to go and it’s totally calculated. [[EvilCannotComprehendGood From his twisted perspective, perspective]], people are only a means to an end and [[LoveIsAWeakness love as is something]] for the weak-minded that can be easily exploited, considering the fact that he sees it as a [[CrapsackWorld dog-eat-dog world out there]] and that only [[TheSocialDarwinist the fittest survive]], thanks to his harsh upbringing. He plays a long game, planning his marriage to Elsa for years, but when Anna looks like the more likely path to getting what he wants, he changes gears slightly. Hans doesn’t hesitate to lie and bribe, and starts to dehumanize Elsa so she is viewed as a monster and so that no one questions it when he kills her, and he does everything he can to play into that narrative. He consciously mirrors people, showing them what he thinks they want to see, and he sees no reason to use violence if you can use other methods of getting people to do what you want. He’s a master of reading people and he nearly gets everything he’s aiming for.

* NiceToTheWaiter: He's nice to a random girl that just ran into his horse, making sure she's okay and even walking onto the not-that-stable boat to help her up--and that's ''before'' he learns she's Princess Anna. He also doesn't hesitate to hand out supplies and let common people into the palace to keep them warm. Of course, this just shows how dedicated he is to being a VillainWithGoodPublicity.

* SelectiveObliviousness: ''A Frozen Heart'' shows him ignoring any indication that Elsa is not the monster he imagines her as. Any moment he starts to feel bad for her, he immediately attempts to rationalize why he shouldn't.

* TheSociopath: For most of the movie, Hans is shown being a nice person who is always willing to help. It's not until Anna needs his love and they are alone that TheReveal is made, and it's just as shocking to the audience as it is to Anna -- he's a very accurate depiction of a sociopath for a Disney film and the WhamLine he utters also throws his character in question. He was actually working to seize control of Arendelle from day one and is [[TheUnfettered willing to kill anyone]] who gets in his way (namely Elsa and Anna) [[VillainWithGoodPublicity while looking like a gentle and noble person to the characters]] ''[[VillainWithGoodPublicity and the audience]]''. Hans reveals that [[ItsAllAboutMe he only ever cared about getting the throne]], and Anna was the easier of the two sisters to seduce. He then explains that now that she's dying, all he needs to do is kill Elsa and become a king, [[SmugSnake smugly thinking he'll get away with it]].

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Amusingly, for a guy who was villainous in the first place. Hans comes to Arendelle with a relatively simple plot to marry into the royal family and manipulate his way onto the throne, and ends up causing the royal family to fall apart and the queen to accidentally plunge the kingdom into eternal winter entirely by accident. This turns out to be almost the best possible situation for him, but for much of the plot he's as nonplussed as anybody - though [[IndyPloy he ultimately finds out a way]] [[OpportunisticBastard to use it to his advantage.]]

No, it's not. It's about parents who are absent from their kids' lives because they're dead or missing. The "abandonment" in the trope name is misleading - try reading the trope description instead.

* HatesSmallTalk: Hans' father oftentimes got very annoyed whenever Hans tries to make small talk with him, always asking him "to get straight to the point" any time he deemed Hans had overstayed too long in his presence, ordering him to get out. And it's justified as the king has more important things to focus on than Hans' attempts at small talk about his brothers bullying him, coldly dismissing him as nothing more than a whiner and a nuisance.

So to escape from his grimy reality, Hans often fantasized a world where he's loved and appreciated by his family, but those daydreams often ended with his father scolding him for having such thoughts.

* KickTheDog: Eleven of Hans' brothers never get tired making Hans miserable for not living up to their father's cruel expectations. For example, he’s visibly afraid of attending his own mother’s birthday for five minutes, as even a short amount of time with his entire family always ends in a debacle, and as such, he idly stands outside the door for twenty minutes preparing himself. And when he does finally enter the room, his father scolds him for being excessively late and daydreaming, becoming the family's laughing stock.
