** Season 5 offers evidence that Fluttershy enjoys reading. Since the first season it's been shown that a wall on her cottage has a bookshelf. Many of those books are probably about animals, as she uses one to explain to Rainbow Dash that Tank needs to hibernate in "Tank for the Memories", but Rainbow didn't bother listening to her and tried her best to keep Tank from hibernating. In "Scare Master", her plans for Nightmare Night involved lots of books. The "uninvited guests" shown in that same episode suggest she reads manga too. In "The Hooffields and [=McColts=]" she is shown having a book club with her animal friends, where they read a pony version of ''Literature/WutheringHeights'' and discuss its plot. Back in season 1, she is shown reading a fashion magazine at the spa in "Green Isn't Your Color", which might be how she learned about sewing in the first place.
