* OlderThanTheyLook: Just like Boyfriend, she's nineteen despite looking about as young as Skid and Pump, though comparatively to other characters her size, she looks much more mature. Tankman lampshades this when he calls her a teenager.

His songs include "Darnell", "Lit Up", and "2Hot".

* ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: In contrast to Darnell, who was willing to let bygones be bygones with Pico after the latter beats him in their fight, Nene isn't so forgiving and still wants Boyfriend dead so they can get their money's worth.

Actually, Tankman of the ''[[WebAnimation/{{Tankmen}} Tankmen]]'' series is just one of [[PlanetOfSteves an entire army of Tankmen]], a ragtag group of nearly identical, just ever-so-slightly deranged soldiers who drive around [[CrapsackWorld a ruined world]] in tanks while occasionally warring with other guys with pointy hats. They tend to [[WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer solve their problems with tanks]], either by running the problem over, shooting it with a tank cannon or two, or [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs running it over and then shooting it.]] This particular Tankman seems to be their commanding officer, Sergeant John Captain, who's decided to challenge Boyfriend while having his troops hold Girlfriend at gunpoint. A strange, horrifying creature whose origin is a mystery. While he does wish to battle, he doesn't intend to date your girlfriend, instead very much wanting to eat her (and you) alive!

He acts as the final opponent for both Week 2, tricking Skid and Pump into luring Girlfriend to him, and Week 5, hijacking the mall it takes place in during Christmas.

His two songs are "Monster" for Week 2 and "Winter Horrorland" for Week 5.

Meanwhile, the "down" animation has those charming bloody eyes visibly bulge outwards during the motion, looking ready to drop out of their sockets or burst outright, if not both.

* LaughablyEvil: He sings in a goofy manner and even wears a Santa hat during Week 5, but the lyrics to both songs are about severing and cooking two teenagers. Make no mistake, this thing can and ''will'' skin you alive if given the chance.
* LyricalDissonance: Both of his songs have to do with him wanting to gruesomely murder and eat Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Both of said songs are also incredibly chipper and up-beat, with said songs getting bouncier and cheerier whenever he gets to the lines about what he wants to do with you.
* MasterOfIllusion: According to a tweet from [[WordOfGod ninjamuffin99]], Monster is "able to twist perception", implying that the background of "Winter Horrorland" is nothing but an illusion.

* MonstrousCannibalism: One of his main goals is to devour Girlfriend, who turns out to be a demon herself.

* NonStandardCharacterDesign: He has a much zanier and more unsettling design than the rest of the main cast, with a purely black body that looks like it's made out of shadow, prominent ScaryTeeth, eyes with gigantic, quivering pupils, and thinner lines on his face and neck than the game's usual ThickLineAnimation style. His music is out there, too, being inspired by the Blake Robinson Synthetic Orchestra rather than the electronic music associated with the rest of the game.

The trailer for the Full-Ass Game Kickstarter project showcases every then-available opponent but only offers brief and close up glimpses of Monster on stage, and his score meter icon suspiciously lingers longer than the rest of the cast. In actual gameplay proper, he appears twice with no warning to enhance the surprise-factor of encountering a grotesque monster singing [[SuddenlyVoiced clear English.]]
* ScaryTeeth: In comparison to the rest of the cast's simplistic mouths, each of his teeth are drawn separately. They're also all blood red.
* SlasherSmile: He has a wide, open smile with each of the teeth rendered in loving detail, to the point that it makes Daddy Dearest's smile look like a mere smirk. His mouth also contorts grotesquely when he sings. This even extends to his icon on the health bar, which still wears the grin when he's losing soundly.
* SoftSpokenSadist: Despite how horrifying this thing looks, he actually has a rather low, calm, and overall pretty soothing singing voice. All that does is make him creepier and more disturbing since there's some implication that he's acting completely normally and casually in his efforts to kill and eat the main couple as if this was just a regular daily thing for him to do.
* SuddenlyVoiced: While other characters do in fact speak in cutscenes and such, he's the only opponent who ''sings'' in clear English.
* ToServeMan: He wants to eat Boyfriend and Girlfriend so much that he ''sings'' about doing so. In "Winter Horrorland", a significant portion of the lyrics are outright dedicated to him gleefully detailing a recipe for preparing Boyfriend as a Christmas meal, even pairing him with brandy and plums.
* ToThePain: The Monster's lyrics in both Week 5 and Week 2 have him sing in a joyful manner towards Boyfriend and Girlfriend, but the lyrics explains his plans on torturing the both of them.
* VerbalTic: He has a tendency to go "La la la la~!" like a happy little kid, doing so twice in both of his songs, usually right after describing some horrible method of murder or flaying.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: In a happy, goofy little rhythm game, this is a being who wants to mutilate a teenager, leave his mangled corpse in a dungeon, and devour both him and his lover. His design is also a lot more abstract and out there in comparison to the rest of the cast.
* VillainSong: Both of his songs are all about the monstrous intentions he has for the characters, with the majority of their lyrics having something to do with either murdering the main characters or eating them, and the rest of the lyrics being about how he will enjoy doing so.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: His voice has a low reverberating overlap to it, best heard when the vocals of his songs are isolated.

Week 6's ''second'' opponent, a wisp-like entity trapped within Senpai's game by Daddy Dearest. Breaking free of his binds thanks to Boyfriend winning causing the game's code to go screwy, he challenges Boyfriend himself for his and Girlfriend's bodies in a bid to finally escape the game.

His sole song is "Thorns".

* ActorAllusion: Spirit's hyper-realistic face, according to WordOfGod, was based on Tom Fulp, the founder of Newgrounds.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: While he's quite obviously not human [[HauntedTechnology now]], it's not clear what he was like before getting trapped in the game. Whether he's a [[WasOnceAMan former human]], a former demon, or has always been a [[GhastlyGhost horrifying ghost]] is not hinted about in his dialogue.
* AmbiguousSituation: It's clear he knows Girlfriend by association with her father, but it's unclear if he knew her personally or only learned of her off-hand before his imprisonment (or during it). After his defeat at the end of "Thorns", it's left unanswered whether he was vanquished or left behind in the game as the protagonists escaped.
* AndIMustScream: Daddy Dearest trapped him in Senpai's dating sim, stuck behind the code for who knows how long until Boyfriend and Girlfriend came along. He in turn plans to give the two the same fate by [[DemonicPossession taking their bodies]], allowing him to escape while they remain trapped.
* EvilIsVisceral: Downplayed; his silhouette resembles an anatomical human heart and his form even pulses with the rhythm of the music. While he does [[OrificeEvacuation explode out of Senpai's face]], it's only shown via a ShadowDiscretionShot.
* GhastlyGhost: He's called Spirit and [[OurGhostsAreDifferent looks the part]]. He's also malevolent, with a [[ItsPersonal nasty vendetta]] against Daddy Dearest and a willingness to subject Boyfriend and Girlfriend to DemonicPossession in order to carry out said vendetta.
* HauntedTechnology: A GhastlyGhost sealed within "Hating Simulator" by [[GreaterScopeVillain Daddy Dearest]].
* HeWhoFightsMonsters: Before his song, he states that he wants to make Daddy Dearest pay for what he did to him and the others, implying that he wants to get revenge for everyone Daddy Dearest has disposed of. However, his plan would involve trapping Boyfriend in the same FateWorseThanDeath he's been going through by taking over his body, despite Boyfriend being completely innocent.
* KnightOfCerebus: While Monster is a [[VileVillainSaccharineShow horrifying abomination that shows how the game isn't going to be all lighthearted rapping fun]], he was still mostly just as random a battle as the other opponents. Spirit here, on the other hand, fully recontextualizes everything about the game by bringing in the actual plot, and while his overall character is softer than Monster and only fought in Week 6, his existence and reasons for battling Boyfriend show that there's more to the story going on than just a man wandering around having rap battles with people.
* NoNameGiven: Goes unnamed within Week 6 itself; his files refer to him as "Spirit", but considering how he got trapped, it most likely isn't his actual name.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Spirit has a realistic-looking face, clashing jarringly with both the game's normal cartoony art style ''and'' the {{Animesque}} video game Week 6 takes place in. The file for his sprites is a .txt, unlike the other characters' .xml formats. This [[BuffySpeak non-standardness]] even extends to "Thorns", which takes a departure from the game's usual musical style by sticking pretty solidly in Phrygian mode.
* OrificeEvacuation: He manifests himself by [[YourHeadAsplode exploding out of Senpai's eyes and mouth]].

* WasOnceAMan: Spirit is a human-faced wisp of red smoke, who rather violently rips himself out of Senpai. Whatever he is, he definitely isn't human -- or at least, not anymore.

Goofy-looking demons that work under Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest. A bit lacking in smarts, they seem to just do what they're told no matter what. They appear in Week 4, dancing to the beat in the background without a care in the world.

* AffablyEvil: They work for a murderous psycho demon couple, yet they have the time of their lives just dancing the day away.
* ArtificialHuman: Moreso Artifical ''Demons''. [[WordOfGod Apparently, somehow they're grown in jars.]] [[invoked]]
* BadassDriver: In Week 4, one of the Henchmen drives the car where Boyfriend and Mommy Mearest are battling it out. He never crashes the vehicle or even makes a mistake, even though Mommy Mearest is standing ''directly over the windshield''.
* BigRedDevil: Well, more of a pink, but they fit the bill.
* CoolShades: They've got big and reflective black sunglasses.
* DumbMuscle: They've got huge numbers, complete obedience, and groovy dance moves, but not much in the way of wit. Girlfriend's parents would want them no other way.

While [=SoftDon=] didn't make music, Cassette Girl still became popular on Newgrounds, and she was set to appear as a future opponent and playable character, until some controversy stirred up from her creator and she was scrapped from the game entirely.

* GuestFighter: A unique case in that unlike the other characters, Cassette Girl never starred in any animations or games made or approved by her creator prior to her planned inclusion in ''Friday Night Funkin'''. This was changed when ''Rushdown Rivals'' was released and had her as a playable character (keep in mind that this was prior to the controversy).
* MeaningfulName: Her face can open up to reveal a cassette player, hence her name.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: In terms of confirmed playable characters, Cassette Girl was the only female so far.

* WinsByDoingAbsolutelyNothing: In the promotional video for his Newgrounds figurine. Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest attack him and turn him into a figurine, which they then give to Girlfriend. This not only nets him a date with her where she takes him everywhere stuffed into her bra, but she turns him back via a TrueLovesKiss while in her room, which lets the two have sex unimpeded.

* RealityWarper: Once he hijacks the mall in Week 5, the background turns sinister and everyone besides Boyfriend and Girlfriend is nowhere to be seen. It's implied that Monster is able to twist reality in however way he sees fit and that's how he managed to take over from Girlfriend's parents just to have another go at Boyfriend.

* VocalDissonance: He's almost as short as Boyfriend and can't be much older than a young adult, but he's also got the deepest singing voice of the cast.
