* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: While in the original Japanese, Effie was a somewhat soft spoken LadyOfWar, some parts of the localization (like the Private Quarters and her event quotes) have her as a more abrasive (with a more confident voice to match) jock-type who is very much proud of her body and how strong she is. However, as far as actual dialouge in her Supports go, there is very little difference between the two.

* DumbMuscle: Effie tends to believe that her strength can do absolutely illogical things; She tries to fix a jar that she tore the top half off of by forcing the pieces back together. She thought that putting cracks in a boulder would allow her to automatically tell someone's fortune, without even reading up on the fortunetelling techniques (and when it doesn't work, her first thought is to break ''more'' rocks). And she tries to make someone grow by trying to literally ''stretch them out by their head''. And that was just her supports with Nyx.

* CharacterDevelopment: As Inigo, he used to be very awkward and immature at times, and while not an outright JerkAss, he could be very shallow towards those he flirted with and a bit petty and smug to those he didn't. As Laslow, despite still being a flirt, he is more sensitive to other people's needs and tries to help them, even offering wise advice. Inigo was also embarrassed about his secret dream to be a dancer and felt he was never good enough. Laslow, even if he isn't completely confident as his support with Azura shows, is more than glad to dance in public now, to the point his personal skill is a dance that while not as amazing as his mother's dance command, still raises stats while stacking with rally's, showing he's at least making good progress towards [[IncrediblyLamePun following in his mother's footsteps.]]

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: At the end of ''Birthright'' when [[spoiler:Elise is accidentally killed by Xander and he gives the orders for them to not get involved, Peri immediately yells that she's not abandoning him and will fight to the end with him. This is ''especially'' uncharacterstic given how undisciplined Peri is, that she's willing to go that far when nobody expects somebody like her to continue fighting. Her last words is apologizing to Xander for her disobeying of orders and that she was proud to serve him, before tearfully remorsing that this is what death must feel like]].

* TokenEvilTeammate: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. [[InsanityDefense Peri is too insane to really be called evil]], but the distinction can be academic if one focuses entirely on her actions. She's completely and totally unhinged, regularly kills [[ForTheEvulz for fun]], attempts to murder Felicia in their A support, and struggled to empathize with people before Leo (unsuccessfully) and Laslow (successfully) try to teach it to her. However, she's also a loyal ally of Prince Xander, clearly is affectionate and empathetic to the people she ''does'' like, and has a moral code that at worst prevents her from truly crossing any lines and at ''best'' actually has her grow as a person for it.

* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Despite being a particularly morally-questionable person, she -- of all people -- refuses to abandon Xander in Chapter 26 of ''Birthright'' and fights with him to the bitter end to protect her lord when Xander outright gave orders for her to retreat. [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness It's especially notable]] as it's ''[[HeroicComedicSociopath Peri]]'' that does this, yet she continues to loyally serve Xander past the point there was any obligation for her to do so.

* TokenEvilTeammate: She's completely and totally unhinged, regularly kills [[ForTheEvulz for fun]], attempts to murder Felicia in their A support, and doesn't even have the slightest ''concept'' of empathy before Leo (unsuccessfully) and Laslow (successfully) try to teach it to her. {{Downplayed}} however in that she never actually hurts her allies nor does she ever do anything that truly [[BeyondRedemption crosses the line]], with the potential exception of her and Felicia's support - though the latter is mostly PlayedForLaughs.

She gets away with it ''because'' she's such a talented fighter. * UnluckilyLucky: One would think the gods hate him with his awful luck, but this man survived multiple events that by all rights should have killed him. He gets regularly struck by lightning, falls off of ravines, hit by carriages and mistaken for bandits at every turn, yet he frequently gets just enough leeway to survive it by the skin of his teeth. He's unquestionably cursed at every turn by bad luck, make no mistake, but the gods seem to [[ItAmusedMe find his suffering far too amusing to kill him outright]].
** This is best illustrated in his A-Support with Corrin; Arthur was elected to do a fire drill for a nearby village and Corrin, being appropriately GenreSavvy, advises he douse himself in water [[ManOnFire to be on the safe side]]. Arthur remembered to soak up in water... only to slip on the mud and fall face-first into the water, when it rained the night before and was full of debris washed in by the rainfall. Regardless, Arthur somehow swam back to shore to a ''round of applause,'' apparently it being the best show they've seen in years! Even when the gods apparently curse him, they can't help but bless him at the same time.
** Plus, he may be hit with bad luck but ''others'' can use this to their advantage and reap benefits. i.e., when he's carrying freshly purchased fish with Selena, he gets hit by lightning... with the side-effect that the fish are ''somehow'' perfectly cooked by the same bolt, so the two end up having a delicious feast.
** Even more interesting than that is how his status as UnluckilyLucky is [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration reflected somewhat in story]]: Arthur is amongst the few characters in ''Conquest'' that merely retreat than outright die in the game's [[{{Permadeath}} Classic mode]], and even in ''Birthright'' where it's possible for him to die, he's one of the few Nohrian characters who can survive the entire route if [[TheHero Corrin]] talks to him first. And even ''then,'' if Arthur's defeated by an enemy unit during his retreat, there isn't even a death quote to begin with, which implies he never truly died to begin with. The only time he could even ''possibly'' croak aside from ''Birthright'' is in ''[[DownloadableContent Heirs of Fate]]'', which even then, is a [[BadFuture bad timeline]] where ''everyone'' but Corrin died trying to fight Anankos, and that presumably took an outright ''god'' to kill him!

* HeroicNeutral: Unlike most of the army, Nyx isn't motivated by loyalty or good-will, and would much rather keep to herself. She only joins out of self-preservation. Because of this, Nyx is the only Nohrian playable character who doesn't even appear on the ''Birthright'' route, as [[ForWantOfANail without having met Corrin, she would have had no reason to join the Nohrian army in the first place]].

** [[spoiler:Her and Odin's supports reveal that her curse of perpetual youth was the result of this; a spell she was casting went out of control and took the lives of an entire village, the subsequent influx of life-force effectively rendering her unable to age]].

* MysteriousPast: She does not like to talk about her past, though she hints that she was very cruel in her youth and would inflict curses on innocent people and torment whole villages. Due to her past actions, Nyx thinks it's best that she be kept as far from society as possible. [[spoiler:In his A Support with her, Odin informs her of a story he heard that the curse that keeps her young was because she'd accidentally absorbed the collective life-force of an entire village when one of her spells backfired, which Nyx subsequently confirms to be true]].

* TheCynic: She has a ''very'' low opinion of people and the world, believing that people only value appearances over what's inside and that everyone is out for themselves. [[spoiler:This is because [[FreudianExcuse she was bullied mercilessly as a kid]] solely for her [[TheLadette Ladette]] persona, with nobody caring for her but her [[GoodParents godsend parents]]. When she became a soldier to capitalize on her fighting skill, her Ladette aspects again got her ridicule at worst and drove people away at best. Thus, she developed into this archetype and [[HumansAreBastards believed that she'll only be loved if she sexed herself up.]] It takes ThePowerOfLove - both from friends and a love who cares about her real self - for her to regain her faith in humanity.]]
* CharacterDevelopment: Has a surprisingly complex one for her character. [[spoiler:As a kid, she was a total tomboy, but was bullied mercilessly solely because she acted outside of her gender role. Even with her loving parents, [[HumansAreBastards this lead her to believe that people only want to see what's on the outside]] and [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon don't want the gender status-quo to be tipped]], so she deliberately appealed to that standard. Some supports and some [[ThePowerOfLove true love]] made her realize humans as a whole weren't as bad as she thought, though.]]

** She assumes Peri is performing ObfuscatingInsanity to be appealing to men; when it becomes apparent that no, she really is that crazy, Charlotte is noticeably disturbed.

** Charlotte has a love for anything golden, but even she wouldn't want to con somebody for her own financial security. She's ecstatic in her early supports with Kaden when he brings her gold nuggets, but when he reveals in their A-Support that he's been cutting off his fur to trade for gold nuggets, Charlotte [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold immediately forbids Kaden from doing such a thing again both out of guilt and moral concern]].

** Among the Hoshidan characters, she's this to Rinkah. Both are very tough female warriors who are among the best melee combatants for their respective factions, as well as being some of the strongest in terms of physical ability. Both also fulfill a berserker-like battle role, preferring to charge their enemies and beat them down through raw power. Both are also rather cynical, seeing the world as a rather harsh place that doesn't do favors for anyone, having had trouble being accepted by the rest of the world for their being female fighters. However, Charlotte is crass but hides her crude side beneath a frilly exterior and false persona while desiring acceptance, while Rinkah is bluntly straightforward, doesn't care much about what people think about her and looks down on people who hide their true selves.

* GoldDigger: Her dream is to marry into status and wealth. [[spoiler:Unlike most examples of this trope though, it's actually not about raw greed; she had a [[KidsAreCruel very shitty childhood thanks to bullies]], [[GoodParents but her parents always loved her for who she was, despite being very poor.]] This led her to want to marry a wealthy nobleman as her way of saying "thank you" to her parents for being there for her, despite believing HumansAreBastards. Another major difference is that, by her own admission, she won't marry someone ''[[EveryoneHasStandards just]]'' for their money - if they're a complete dirtbag, she won't go with them no matter how much wealth they have.]]

** Charlotte enlisted in the military because fighting was her best skill - but she proved so good at it that nobody would approach such an overpoweringly-strong woman, and anyone who did was either scared off by her strength, put off by her being [[TheLadette a Ladette]], or had issue with her being stronger than them. This led her to believe NoGuyWantsAnAmazon and doll herself up for everyone else since.

** Her Supports with Silas reveal that her becoming a fighter was actually a direct result of her poor lifestyle. [[spoiler:Being a capable fighter was literally the ''only'' thing she had going for her, so it became the only way to gain respect - only for her to turn out to be [[GoneHorriblyRight far too good at it]] and end up frightening most people with her strength. Combined with the bullying issues she talks about in Xander's Supports, is it any wonder she got so jaded about the world?]]
** It's also implied that she doesn't act cute just to win guys over, but also because she has issues genuinely opening up to people. She tells Xander in their A-support that men would grow afraid of her whenever she tried to be herself around them, so eventually [[StepfordSmiler she just started wearing a mask instead.]] Silas' Supports exposit on this further, [[spoiler:hinting that she's actually worn the mask so long that it's causing an identity crisis - Silas even goes as far as suggesting Charlotte no longer knows which side of herself she dislikes; the frilly part that she fakes for everyone, or the crude part that hides from everyone.]]

* ManipulativeBitch: Knows how to use her cute looks to get her way. [[spoiler:This is because she believes people only want to see what's in front of them and they hate when those perceptions are slanted, leading her to have a low self-esteem on top of a very [[HumansAreBastards cynical belief system.]] [[FriendlessBackground Given]] [[KidsAreCruel her childhood]] and [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon prior mistrust over her strength]], we can't blame her.]]
* MsFanservice: Deconstructed to hell and back, and even outright stated by Charlotte herself to be a deliberate fabrication for the sake of evoking this trope in the eyes of potential husbands. [[spoiler:Despite having loving parents, she was bullied a lot as a kid solely for not being feminine enough and given zero recognition - or even outright mistrust - for her fighting prowess due to said gender, not only leaving her with the belief that HumansAreBastards but an abysmal sense of self-esteem. Thankfully, her Supports with Corrin, Xander and other characters - even without an S-Rank - can help her [[HumansAreGood see otherwise]]]].

* OnlyInItForTheMoney: Charlotte specifies several times that money is her main motivation to marry, and would not be interested in most things without that incentive. [[spoiler:Although, she does admit in her supports that she wouldn't marry someone just because they were rich; just that them being wealthy is her ''starting'' criteria for finding a husband - she'd still refuse to marry someone who was rich if they weren't a good person. The biggest kicker though is the reason she wants the money in the first place; to get her [[GoodParents loving parents]] out of poverty, in repayment for having raised her though tough times and being the only people beyond Corrin's army to ever like her for her true self.]]

** [[spoiler:Benny's solo ''Conquest'' ending has him deciding to desert the Nohrian army and stay with his animal friends in the forest.]]

* HeroicSelfDeprecation: While he's quick to correct grand misconceptions about his achievements, he never really says anything nice about himself, either. He admits he's very scary-looking and timid, and claims he's only good for muscle and not brains.
