!Hyoh of the Delta/[[spoiler: Gamma]] Star
The fourth of the Orders, [[spoiler: later promoted to third]], tasked with guarding the Emperor against the Veritas and Lasswell's party. He is a relatively recent addition, [[spoiler:being in actuality Rain's SecretIdentity in his act to infiltrate the Orders]].

* AIBreaker: The first fight against him has a rather severe one. He starts the fight by preemptively buffing himself in several ways (attack, defense, elemental resistance). If you dispel these buffs, he'll spend the next round reapplying them all at the expense of attacks he might otherwise have used. Dedicating a single unit to dispelling him every round (easy enough, as Dispel is available on three Espers and Fingersnap can be obtained through Odin) will cut off most, if not all of his attacks every round, making defeating him a simple matter of attrition. The second fight is hardly better, as his only improvement is an innate physical/magical resistance that only makes him slightly tougher to kill, and he'll throw in the occasional attack that can be easily healed off so long as the dispelling has been regularly reapplied. Lampshaded in the third fight against him; one of the bonus missions for extra lapis is to beat Hyoh without using a dispel of any variety (though those who don't want to bother with said bonus mission will find that this still applies).
* AmbiguousSituation: He's suspected to be Rain in disguise, as both Sol and Lasswell note he fights just like Rain, but Hyoh denies being Rain and [[spoiler:attacks Fina to prove it]]. It's speculated that he may have lost his memory, or may be a vision of Rain, [[spoiler:the latter being somewhat more likely after the real one shows up and makes him explode in a burst of light]]. Whatever the case may be, his past is still unclear. [[spoiler: It turns out that Hyoh ''is'' Rain, and that during that encounter Nagi was wearing Hyoh's armour at his request.]]
* AnimalMotifs: The name "Hyoh" translates to "Leopard" and he wears a helm in the shape of a snarling cat's mouth.
* TheBattleDidntCount: Hyoh pulls this off against Raegen. This can come off as rather JustForFun/{{egregious}} if you took advantage of the AIBreaker above. At least in this case, it's justified as Raegen successfully wounding him, but Hyoh managing to score a deeper wound in the process, rather than just suddenly powering up as Galas did the first time.
* BlowYouAway: Uses wind magic in a fight. [[spoiler: Subverted, as that Hyoh was actually Nagi in disguise.]]
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler: In Paladia, Rain was taken in by a small town and tried to protect it, only for it to get completely wiped out by a massive conflict due to royal blood he didn't even know he had. The moment thoroughly breaks his psyche, leading him to join the Stars as Hyoh to become strong enough to kill the Emperor.]]
* DishingOutDirt: Has access to earth magic.
* DramaticUnmask: Subverted. While his helm goes flying during a fight scene, he's quick to cover his face and teleports away before his identity can be revealed.
* FallenHero: [[spoiler:He is what happens when Rain, the optimistic protagonist of Season 1, has his mentality broken to the very core.]]
* FalseFlagOperation: [[spoiler:He gets Nagi to wear his armor to throw the party off the trail of his true identity.]]
** In the event "The Color of Heartlessness" he [[spoiler: pretends to kill Domino and Shatal to let them escape with intelligence on Yuraisha's whereabouts]].

* ShockAndAwe: Has some Lightning attacks in his repertoire.
* TheStoic: Shows very little emotion at any time. [[spoiler:This is a front for Rain's now extremely conflicted psyche.]]
* VillainRespect: Hyoh knows of the Sworn Six from Aldore's history books, and he's earnestly congratulatory towards his foes for the effort they put forth against him. [[spoiler:Again a front, as Rain knows every member of the Sworn Eight sans Gilgamesh personally.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: His true identity is central to Season 2's plot.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler:As Hyoh, his goal is to take over Aldore from Emperor Quadis. To do this, he needs to get in the Emperor's good graces by acting as "despicably" as possible.]]

!Yego of the Gamma Star
Third of the Orders, dispatched to take care of Raegan's group if Zolulu and Delulu fail. A girl raised by Malboros and eventually found and taken in by Distorque, who treats her as little more than a slave. Seeing Cid and Mid interact causes in her curiosity about the concept of family, and makes her interested in being part of one.

!Physalis of the Pi Star
The 16th of the Orders. A recent addition to the Orders. A GenkiGirl and ThePollyanna despite her horrible childhood [[spoiler:marked by constant racism against her from both Aldorans and Hess thanks to her mixed blood]]. Has a Moogle companion named Moog, who is Physalis' [[TrueCompanions "soul mate"]] and, until she meets Lasswell's party, the only friend she ever had.

* AnIcePerson: Uses ice magic in battle.
* ApocalypseMaiden: [[spoiler: She is the key to awakening the Omega Weapon.]]
* BigEater: Called out on being one by Moog, much to her embarrassment.
* BlowYouAway: Her Esper Unit, Four Winds Physalis, shifts her element to Wind (and [[MakingASplash Water]]) and bonds her to Tetra Sylphid, making her a very strong mage.
* BoisterousBruiser: A fun weird girl [[spoiler: powerful enough to take out the Alpha Star in a single blow.]]
* CastingAShadow: Uses dark magic in battle.
* TheChick: The [[spoiler: seemingly]] weakest of the Stars and the most optimistic of them.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Joined the Orders yet seems to know nothing about what they stand for or their methods and seemingly [[WildChild never took a shower]] before joining their ranks. When she meets the heroes, she is more interested in learning about them than fighting them.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: Moog acts as one to Physalis, though he is often neutral on what she decides to do.
* CurbStompBattle:
** Is shown to have taken Gudon, the fourteenth Star, out in a single punch in her Story Event. This attracted the Emperor's attention and led him to send Juraga to recruit her.
** Later defeats [[spoiler: the Alpha Star]] in a single punch.
* CuteBruiser: A cute young woman who nevertheless [[spoiler: packs quite the punch.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:From a young age she was alienated from the other kids who she just wanted to play with, having been told she is a weirdo and their own parents warning them to stay away from her. She never gives up trying to be nice to them, but is shown to be harboring deep and confused sadness at why she must be alone leading to her deep fear of isolation. It lasted like this until she met Moog who remained with her and could even be inferred that Lasswell is the first man who is truly nice to her.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: Despite using dark magic, she is one of the friendliest if not ''the'' friendliest of the Stars.
* {{Determinator}}: [[spoiler: Despite being fused with the Omega Weapon, which should have removed her consciousness from said weapon, she manages to prevent it from destroying the world through sheer force of will.]]
* DumbBlonde: A blonde {{Cloudcuckoolander}}.
* FriendlyEnemies: with Lasswell. In fact, they're so chummy that they only qualify as enemies because they're on opposing sides: she looks up to him, he treats her with respect, and they fight almost entirely as contests of skill.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: While in the story Physalis is shown to be even more powerful using her fists, her in-game unit can't even equip them.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: She wields a pistol and a rifle. [[spoiler:Subverted later, when she is shown to be even stronger when smashing and defeats Levnato in a single punch.]]
* HalfBreedDiscrimination:[[spoiler: Has mixed blood, her parents coming from both Aldore and Hess. The blend is the source of her incredible strength, not to mention her status as ApocalypseMaiden, and why everyone from her hometown shunned her.]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Joins the heroes in Chapter 7 of Season 2 when she realizes the Aldoran Empire is evil.]]
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Was completely ignorant of the despotic nature of the Emperor until it is blatantly pointed out to her.
* InterspeciesRomance: Moog refers to Physalis as his [[OneTrueLove soulmate]], though seeing as Physalis is [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} so odd]] it's unclear as to whether she understands the significance of this or not. However, based on how Moog is apparently a ShipperOnDeck for Lasswell/Physalis, it's probably closer to declaring her his [[TrueCompanions True Companion]].
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: In Magistellus part 3, she discusses the fun and thrill of random summons and even calls the act of summoning "a pull," much like the player base does. However, she does so in the context of a summon crystal that she found in the Aldorean armory. [[spoiler: When it reveals that the summon is of Zolulu and Delulu, she starts complaining about it like she just got a JunkRare InUniverse.]]
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: Has one in the form of a moogle.
* MakingASplash: Four Winds Physalis can use Water attacks with Tetra Sylphid's help.
* ObliviousToLove: Even when it's pointed out to her that she's becoming enamored with Lasswell, she's totally oblivious as to what that even means.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Physalis may not have the best head over her shoulders, but when this cheery girl [[spoiler:gets ''legit pissed'' about Lasswell basically giving up on Rain at the end of the Rubiena arc]], you know this is real shit going on. In fact, any time she goes ''dead serious'' is a sign something went seriously wrong.
* NiceGirl: She's uncompromisingly sweet to everyone she meets, she had no idea about Lid's situation with Jake when she and Fina were talking about it, but immediately offered her encouragement.
* NonIndicativeName: Her rank has [[spoiler:nothing to do with her power level, unlike the other Stars. She is only 16th because she joined recently.]] Lasswell comments she is at least as strong as Akstar when they fight.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: Downplayed, in that she's always a [[CloudCuckooLander cheery goof]], but she wears sinister night vision goggles with three green, glowing lenses when she's working as an antagonist. [[spoiler: Her HeelFaceTurn is cemented by her removing them.]]
* ShipTease: With Lasswell. Lid and Fina are quite [[ShipperOnDeck happy to tease Lasswell on it]] while Physalis herself is oblivious to most of it, not even knowing what a "date" is. They also have moments to themselves on how much they like one another. Moog also treats the two [[ShipperOnDeck as already in a relationship]].
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Both her and her moogle companion - originally named Faisalith and Guri (short for ''moguri'', the name for moogles in Japan), but now named Physalis and Moog (more obviously a shortened version of their English name).
* SuperStrength: [[spoiler: Defeats an armoured Levnato in a single punch.]]
* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Orders. She is only part of the Orders due to wanting to become the next Emperor and is adamant about preventing death, healing the wounded, and practicing chivalrous conduct. [[spoiler: She eventually joins the heroes after refusing to allow Levnato to kill Lasswell, which to her knowledge would have killed off the Hess royal bloodline.]]
* TrailersAlwaysSpoil: Her appearance and combat style were both shown in promotional material at the 2nd FFBE Fan Festa a month before she appeared in the story proper.
* UnskilledButStrong: As shown in Physalis' story event, she is powerful, apparently as strong as Akstar by Lasswell's estimation, but has been given no training, simply using her basic power to get through life. [[spoiler: Lasswell later surpasses her in power, perhaps due to his training.]]
* YinYangBomb: [[spoiler: Descends from both Aldoran and Hess bloodlines, which grants her her SuperStrength.]]

!Galas of the Omicron Star
The fifteenth of the Orders, and the first that the party encounters. A hedonistic man who only cares about climbing positions in the Orders so he can live more comfortably. His strength serves as a wake-up call for Lasswell that the opponents he's about to face are above the tier he fought in Lapis.

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: Their ranks are determined by their ability, with the 1st becoming the new emperor if the current one dies or retires.

* SuperiorSuccessor: The Orders are able to fight and defeat the Veritas, their predecessors, with nary a casualty among them. Later subverted when [[spoiler: several of them fail against the Veritas.]]
* ThemeNaming: Their titles all use a Greek letter followed by "Star," with the letter's place in the Greek alphabet corresponding with their rank in the Orders.

!Zeno of the Beta Star
Second of the Orders. A man whose entire life is a complete mystery, and a close position to the Emperor, second only to Levnato, the Alpha Star. Many can only speculate his intentions, some even saying that he's in this only so that he can kill the Emperor himself. See [[spoiler: Akstar]] for more tropes that apply to him.

* AmbidextrousSprite: He stands out for this because he's in a game that's generally good about representing FashionableAsymmetry. The lines on the left side of his armor are supposed to glow red [[spoiler: as they're meant to be {{Magitek}} augments for Akstar's missing limbs]], but generally, the side facing the camera will be shown as glowing red outside of his boss battle sprite.
* DualWielding: Wields [[KatanasAreJustBetter two katanas.]]
* FallenHero: [[spoiler: If Akstar's tale about his backstory is true, he once tried to kill the Emperor with his friends, only for them to all die and him to be rendered a HandicappedBadass.]]
* TheGhost: While the emperor of Paladia has mentioned them by name and noted that they're more powerful than even Hyoh, they've yet to appear as of the third part of Crystallis. [[spoiler: Subverted, as he has been around the party for quite some time.]]

* NoSell: No sold Hyoh of the Delta Star's attacks through the use of magical barriers and [[spoiler: seemingly comes out of Mombert's attack completely unharmed.]]

First of the Orders, a nihilistic man totally in tune with the Emperor's intentions and willing to go the full distance and far more than that to protect him. [[spoiler:This is because he is actually Vlad, the first Emperor, in his most recent body, watching over Quadis and all other Emperors that came before him as they rule Paladia with an iron fist in his name.]]

* BodyBackupDrive[=/=]CloningBlues: [[spoiler:This is how Vlad managed to live for seven centuries, by making copied bodies of himself, having them becoming the next Emperor of Aldore, and then possessing that person with a Vision Crystal of himself, a process he calls "Soul Replication". He intended to do it with Quadis as well, but thanks to Rain and Lasswell beating him into submission, [[TeachHimAnger Quadis decided that anger was a better source of power than solitude]], which causes Vlad to [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness scrap his plans for the current Emperor]] and [[YourSoulIsMine outright absorb him]].]]

** TheManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler:He's secretly Vlad, the first Emperor, controlling the current Emperor of Aldore and preparing to transfer his soul to the Emperor's body once he's ready.]]

** [[spoiler:Vlad is on the run for one of the pettiest villains ever in a ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' game. The entire drive for his actions, his high levels of nihilism and OmnicidalManiac tendencies? The fact that the Aldore is ruled by a single bloodline, meaning that he would never rise to power had he not killed King Rubens.]]

* ItsPersonal: [[spoiler:Vlad has serious problems with Raegen and his family due to their royal blood.]]

* OmnicidalManiac: His true purpose for activating Weapon - he wishes to end all conflict on Paladia by killing everyone else off, leaving him the sole living being left. This reveal causes several of the Orders to outright rebel against him (or, as the case may be, to stop any subterfuge and make their opposition explicit).

* TeachHimAnger: [[spoiler:After his final defeat to Lasswell's team in the Aldore Tower, Quadis realizes that rage might actually a far better source of power than solitude. Unfortunately for him, this also means [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness he's now unfit to be Vlad's next body]].]]

* TheGhost: While the emperor of Paladia has mentioned them by name and noted that they're more powerful than even Hyoh, they've yet to appear as of the third part of Crystallis.

* ReforgedIntoAMinion: They were initially [[spoiler: Kagane, who died protecting Emperor Vlad. On his orders, her soul was kept in storage and the current Emperor decided to put it to use.]]

* ThemeNaming: Their titles are named after a different version of the upgraded Mirror of Equity move (Absolute and Obliterating versions known by Lasswell, True version known by Akstar [[spoiler:and, by extension, Zeno]]). Their personal names are a ShoutOut to ''Literature/TheDivineComedy''.

Sixth of the Orders.

Fifth of the Orders. He joins the tournament for a chance to become Alpha Star.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: He grants Lasswell's group a special pass to advance in the tournament preliminaries because he wanted to defeat them in the tournament proper. Then he's forced to fight them in the final preliminary round and is soundly beaten by Lasswell.
* KickTheDog: He kills Pris and Atole at the bridge leading to the tournament grounds just because he could, not even giving them a chance to compete. He also tries to kill Jake when Jake is unconscious.

The 4th of the Orders, [[spoiler: later promoted to third]], tasked with guarding the Emperor again the Veritas. Mid notes he is a relatively recent addition. [[spoiler: Is Rain's SecretIdentity he used to infiltrate the Orders.]]

* TheBattleDidntCount: Hyoh pulls this off against Raegen... this can come off as rather JustForFun/{{egregious}} if you took advantage of the AIBreaker above. * AmbiguousGender: In part due to translation issues and in part due to an androgynous sprite, Yego is frequently referred to as male and female interchangeably, though she is meant to be female.
* TheBattleDidntCount: No matter how easily you win the battle against her, Raegan's party still has trouble and can only manage to hold her off. This is justified as the party being exhausted from fighting Zolulu and Delulu in addition to all the monsters they had to slay.
* TheBeastmaster: She rides a Malboro into battle and even commands it to attack for her. It's so important to her that, as an enemy, she counts as both Human and Plantoid in terms of what can affect her for extra damage.

* CoolShades: Sports a pair.
* CuriosityCausesConversion: As she was [[RaisedByWolves raised by Malboros]], and then later by [[AbusiveParents Destorque]], she doesn't understand familial bonds between humans at all. Seeing [[spoiler: Mid being willing to betray the Orders for love of her father]] intrigued Yego enough to [[spoiler: join Mid, once it was revealed that Yego didn't kill Mid after all]].

* TheDreaded: Mid is terrified of her, and for good reason. Her Malboro eats Zolulu and Delulu for failure.
* GoodFeelsGood: [[spoiler: Spending more and more time with Cid and Mid and bonding with the two as family makes Yego feel better, even if [[WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove she's confused about it and can't describe it well]].]]
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler: Joins the Sworn Six.]]
* MoreThanMindControl: Her mentor Distorque [[spoiler: conditioned her to be unable to resist certain commands.]] She is later able to break this due to ThePowerOfLove.
* MurderTheHypotenuse: When Cid refuses to become her adoptive parent due to already having a daughter, Yego has her malboro eat Mid. Subverted as [[spoiler: she only had the malboro stick Mid in its mouth and it spits her back out.]]

* WhyAmITicking: [[spoiler: Has a bomb implanted inside her by her AbusiveParent Distorque, who threatens to blow her up if she does not return to Aldore with him for reeducation.]]

* LikeBrotherAndSister: Late in season 2, he forms a bond like this with Nagi [[spoiler: after both of them make a HeelFaceTurn upon hearing Sieghard's thoughts on the subject - he becomes their adopted older brother, and both are oddly happy being the younger sibling.]]

The 16th of the Orders. A recent addition to the Orders. A GenkiGirl and ThePollyanna despite her horrible childhood [[spoiler:marked by constant racism against her from both Aldorans and Hess thanks to her mixed blood]]. Has a Moogle companion named Moog, who is Physalis' TrueCompanion and, until she meets Lasswell's party, the only friend she ever had.

* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: She wields a pistol and a rifle. [[spoiler: Subverted later, when she is shown to be even stronger when smashing and defeats Levnato in a single punch.]]

* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler: Joins the heroes in Chapter 9 of season 2.]]

* NonIndicativeName: Her rank has [[spoiler: nothing to do with her power level, unlike the other Stars. She is only 16th because she joined recently.]] Lasswell comments she is at least as strong as Akstar when they fight.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: Downplayed, in that she's always a [[CloudCuckooLander cheery goof]], but she wears sinister goggles with three green, glowing lenses when she's working as an antagonist. [[spoiler: Her HeelFaceTurn is cemented by her removing them.]]

A trio of women known as Paradiso, Purgatorio, and Inferno who serve the Emperor.

* SquishyWizard: While he's incredibly powerful, he's very weak if one manages to land a proper hit on him. [[spoiler:Physalis is able to defeat him in a single blow.]]

* ThemeNaming: They each are named after a different version of the upgraded Mirror of Equity move (Absolute and Obliterating versions known by Lasswell, True version known by Akstar [[spoiler:and, by extension, Zeno]]).

* EvilMentor: Mentors both Yego and Shamlin.

* ShipTease: With Lasswell. Lid and Fina are quite [[ShipperOnDeck happy to tease Lasswell on it]] while Physalis herself is oblivious to most of it, not even knowing what a "date" is. They also have moments to themselves on how much they like one another. Guri also treats the two [[ShipperOnDeck as already in a relationship]].

* AmbiguousGender: Similar to Yego, it's currently unclear whether Shamlin is a man or a woman.

* BackFromTheDead/FakingTheDead: He comes back late in Season 2 after Omega Weapon has been defeated and Lasswell and company make their final assault on the Emperor. It's not clear which it is, or if Distorque even knows which it is.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler:From a young age she was alienated from the other kids who she just wanted to play with, having been told she is a weirdo and their own parents warning them to stay away from her. She never gives up trying to be nice to them, but is shown to be harboring deep and confused sadness at why she must be alone leading to her deep fear of isolation. It lasted like this until she met Moog who remained with her and could even be inferred that Lasswell is the first man who is truely nice to her.]]

* HalfBreedDiscrimination:[[spoiler: Has mixed blood, her parents coming from both Aldore and Hess. The blend is the source of her incredible strength, and why everyone from her hometown shunned her.]]

* ThoseTwoBadGuys: Along with his partner Zolulu, he spends most of his appearances acting like a bit of a dunce and providing exposition so that Raegen (and by extension, the player) get an idea of what's going on.
