* BreakoutVillain: Like Saber Alter, she's popular enough to be a playable character in spinoffs like ''Fate/unlimited codes'' and ''Fate/tiger colosseum''. For a while, it got to the point that Dark Sakura had arguably more exposure than actual Sakura, although the pendulum swung back once things like the ''UBW'' anime came out.

* FinalBoss: Effectively the nearest the game comes to one. She's the final foe on the final route, and both Shirou and Rin have to discover a way to overcome her and, hopefully, restore her to normal.

* WalkingSpoiler: She is the final antagonist of the final route of ''Fate/stay night''.

* WalkingSpoiler: She is the final antagonist the corrupted and malevolent form of Sakura who takes center-stage as one of the final route of ''Fate/stay night''.major villains in ''Heaven's Feel''.

* WouldYouLikeToHearHowTheyDied: [[spoiler:In the "Femme Fatale" BadEnd, Sakura informs Shirou that she's defeated and absorbed Rin and is slowly torturing her to death. And she goes into ''plenty'' of detail.]]

** Taken UpToEleven later in the same route where [[spoiler:his body and mind are breaking from overusing his magic, yet even though he's practically a walking vegetable the only thing that actually kills him in canon is the destruction of the Holy Grail... And he can even survive THAT with a little help from Illya]].

* GenerationXerox: "Mind of Steel" sees Shirou go down the exact same route as his foster father and willingly damn himself for his ideals. Kotomine, who knew his father, even points this out.

* GenerationXerox: Shirou's primary motivation for being a hero of justice is to honor his adoptive father's own dream, and the "Mind of Steel" BadEnd sees Shirou go down the exact same route as his foster father and willingly damn himself for his ideals. Kotomine, who knew his father, even points this out.

* EvilIsNotAToy: In ''Unlimited Blade Works'', after Rider dies, Gilgamesh volunteers to become his new Servant for shits and giggles, [[spoiler:and so that he'd be in the perfect position to turn Shinji into the substitute Grail if his initial plan failed]]. Shinji actually thinks he's in charge, and is oblivious to the fact he has no actual control over Gilgamesh until it is too late.

* MetaphoricallyTrue: In all three path's he calls Rider a "weak servant" and basically [[NeverMyFault she's useless]]. What's ironic is that Shinji is right, she is a weak servant. The problem? That's because he's a piss poor Master.

* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Of the noble, self-sacrificing hero who wants happiness for all, [[HeroicSacrifice even at his own expense]]. The VN takes a lot of steps to show how twisted those ideals are, and how mentally screwed up you'd have to be to be willing to follow them. His single minded pursuit to sacrifice himself for others is usually viewed somewhere between [[SenselessSacrifice stupid]] and [[MartyrWithoutACause horrifically]] [[BrokenHero broken]].

* ShameIfSomethingHappened: In ''Fate'', when Shirou runs into Illya at the shopping district, he is initially very apprehensive about her offer to hang out with him, and tries to talk his way out of it. Illya then loses her patience and says "So you don't like me then, Onii-chan?" with an unsettling smirk. Shirou interprets her reaction as this trope and promptly acquiesces as a result.

* AmbiguousSituation: [[spoiler:In BadEnd #16, Shirou gets ousted from the Holy Grail War due to Rin subjecting him to LaserGuidedAmnesia. However, when he wonders aloud whether or not he's forgotten something, Sakura promptly reassures him that nothing's wrong. However, given the revelations of ''Heaven's Feel'', where she's revealed to be a Master who only avoided the war by giving her Servant to Shinji, it's left unclear whether her reassurance was genuine, or if she deliberately deceived him to ensure he wouldn't remember the war.]]

* LivingEmotionalCrutch: To Sakura. Her love for both Shirou and [[spoiler:Rin]] are a great part of what makes her keep her sanity for so long after [[spoiler:awakening as a Holy Grail]].

to:

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Gets subject to this in BadEnd #16, where he's unable to escape Rin's attack on him at the school. As a result, he loses his memories of the war and goes back to his normal life none the wiser. This is the only ending in the VisualNovel where Shirou can survive the Holy Grail War without seeing it through to the end, and the Tiger Dojo segment even pokes fun at this fact by initially claiming that you've reached the True End of the route.
