* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: Hutch is a straight-up misogynist and homophobe who started the "No homo!" chant. But he does change because of the JerkToNiceGuyPlot.

* NotSoDifferent: At first, Hutch started out as friends with him as they both bonded over their hatred for fat people.

* IWasQuiteALooker: Subverted. [[FormerlyFat Hutch was very obese himself back in his youth]] and blames his obesity as the reason why he failed to win over his crush which is why he quit sugar and carbs (minus beer) altogether.

* ViolenceReallyIsTheAnswer: Having been chastised by Mike for (unknowingly) allowing his kids to gain weight, Hutch then demands his kids to explain why they gained weight. After they refuse to confess to anything, Hutch genuinely threatens to hurt them should he get fired and so Andy cracks and exposes his stash of fatty snacks.

* TheBully: He won't just stop at throwing raw bacon, he'll also resort to punching hard.
* LeanAndMean: He claims that ripping on fat people while getting shit-faced in vape IS winning behavior, when Hutch calls him out for being too much of a jerk.

The main characters are:
* '''Hutch Daley''', the protagonist; a 26-year old unemployed college graduate who still lives with his mother until she kicks him out and forces him to make his own money by becoming a counselor at Camp Vision.
** BasementDweller: Hutch. His mother spoiled him by letting him stay home without paying rent.
** BrilliantButLazy: Hutch graduated from college as a Psychology major but he has remained chronically unemployed and calls himself an "overeducated Millennial". In addition, he works out constantly and has a great active lifestyle but can't even keep a job as a trainer because he refuses to wake up at 8 A.M.
** CatchPhrase: "I haven't had a sugar or non-alcoholic carb in years!" and "[[TitleDrop Fat camp]]!" when someone tries calling Camp Vision a fitness camp.
** DoesNotLikeSpam: He hates cookies, chocolate, bread, rice or anything else involving sugar and carbs (other than alcohol) because he blames them for having ruined his childhood and his chance to have dated his crush Jill Hendricks.
** DisappearedDad: Hutch claims his dad left him as a child and started eating to fill in the emotional gap, becoming 240 pounds at only 5'5".
** FormerlyFat: He blames his dad leaving for his former emotional eating.
** GoldDigger: Hutch mooches off his best friend Dave to pay for his buffalo chicken salads and anticipates moving into Dave's house just because Dave has a paying job and a house, two things that Hutch lacks.
** {{Hypocrite}}: Hutch scolds his kids for not being physically active yet he himself is too lazy to find a job and move out of his mother's. Ironically, he still stays in shape by routinely working out.
** InsistentTerminology: Hutch keeps insisting on calling it fat camp while his co-workers and boss call it fitness camp.

** LeanAndMean: Hutch while having a good physique refuses to admit he's a petty freeloader with anger issues. He's chronically unemployed and shamelessly makes other people pay for his food, drinks and rent.

Back in his youth, he tried rapping to a white girl (Jill Hendricks) to win her love but she just walked away, which made Hutch blame his obesity for her leaving. Hutch either doesn't realize or secretly knows that there is a chance she also turned him down for ethnic reasons.
