The silhouette of the poor girl as he leaves her alone in the forest they're in, is visibly shivering from the cold. He later outright admits that he feels ''nothing'' for Minerva as a father, and only saw her as a tool to be used at best.
* AmbitionIsEvil: He willingly let Tartaros transform him into a demon for power. He also remarks to Mard Greer's face that he plans to usurp him right after he kills Sting and Rogue. Apparently, turning Minerva into a demon was also ''his'' idea, not Kyouka's.
* BackForTheDead: [[spoiler:Killed off no more than one chapter after his return.]]
* BadBoss: Absolutely abuses his employees when they mess up, even when they have a good reason for it. Words cannot really describe it either.

* DisproportionateRetribution: An iron clad rule of his is don't dishonor the guild which basically amounts to "win all your battles". You lose even once, he'll both embarrass you in front of the other members, then boot you out of the guild. It's a wonder he even has a guild with such a harsh rule in place. Also, no animals are allowed to wear the guild mark.
** As a child, Minerva cried when he hit her. His response? Strip her naked and throw her into the woods until she stopped.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: In his first appearance, he had Yukino stand in before him and the other members, orders her to strip naked, throws a bottle at her head and then kicks her out of the guild.
* EvilCounterpart[=/=]ShadowArchetype: He seems to be what Laxus would have turned into had Natsu and Gajeel not stopped him in the Fantasia arc.

* ClimaxBoss: She's the last opponent Fairy Tail faces in actual physical combat on the final day of the [[TournamentArc Grand Magic Games.]]
* CombatPragmatist: She sees nothing wrong with stealing Lucy's celestial spirit keys to render her helpless in battle. Also, as the tactical mind of her group in the final match of the tournament, she tells her teammates to avoid the strongest members of the opposing teams so they can be taken on once weakened from earlier fights. This plan only falls through because Fairy Tail, even when beaten and broken, are literally just too badass to stay down for long.

* EvilLaugh: Indulges in one after she stabs Kagura from behind and taunted Erza.
* ExcessiveEvilEyeshadow: A pale blue color.

* {{Foil}}: Surprisingly, when her backstory is revealed, she's one to Lucy. Both were abused by their father (Minerva physically, Lucy emotionally) because they did not be what their father wanted them to be (Ziemma wanted her to be a ironclad warrior and strong, Jude wanted Lucy to be a ProperLady). Lucy ran away instead, made a new life, and made new friends, while Minerva stayed and became even worse then her father.
* FreudianExcuse: Minerva is a total jerk, but she was not that way as a child. Her dad is at fault. Ziemma made her feel [[ShamefulStrip the same pain]] Yukino felt. Keep in mind ''Ziemma is her father!'' She's only doing what she has been told to do her whole life; be strong.
* TheGoodTheBadAndTheEvil: She's the evil to Kagura's bad and Erza's good.
* HateSink: Her beatdown on Lucy was what turned Fairy Tail from merely annoyed by Saber Tooth's arrogance to viewing them as enemies. She turns herself into Erza and Kagura's mutual enemy by holding their mutual friend hostage (though she manipulates Kagura into taking her anger out on Erza). Joining two Dark Guilds just for petty revenge hasn't done her any favors to public opinion.
** In their most recent fight, however, Erza mentions that her fist is "crying" for fighting such a meaningless battle, though this may be more pity then actual sympathy.
* HavingABlast: Other than space manipulation, she can also cast a spell that [[SummonMagic summons a huge statue-like being]], which destroys everything around it with a colossal explosion.
* HealingVat: Chapter 359 has her in one of these. She lost her battle with Kyouka, but Kyouka indicated that Minerva put up enough of a fight for her to be impressed enough to recruit her into Tartarus, and even nursed her back to health... [[CameBackWrong as a demon.]]
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Hoo boy. Her first FaceHeelTurn was due to her believing that a Dark Guild would be stronger than Saber Tooth after their lackluster performance during the Grand Magic Games. It happens ''again'' after Kyouka [[KillEmAll slaughtered]] Succubus Eye and left her as the SoleSurvivor simply because she put up more of a fight than anyone else in the Guild, resulting in Minerva joining Tartarus, [[CameBackWrong with the body of a demon]]. And now? It looks like she's going to rejoin Saber Tooth, after Erza beat some sense into her, and Sting and Rogue made it crystal clear that they forgive her and want her back.
* HighCollarOfDoom: Her BadassLongCoat as a member of Tartarus has this.
* HornedHumanoid: As a demon.
* IFightForTheStrongestSide: Claims this is her reason for why she quit Saber Tooth for Succubus' Eye. And she wants to move up in the ranks of the dark guilds. Needless to say, she has now achieved this goal, since Succubus Eye is basically defunct, and she has instead been recruited into Tartarus instead.
* [[IHaveYourWife I Have Your Friend]]: She just ''loves'' this trope:
** When Natsu raids their lodge seeking to fight Ziemma, she just teleports Happy into her arms to get him to stop.
** She transports Lector to safety right before Ziemma tries to blast him, but tells Sting he can only see him again if Saber Tooth wins.
** She holds Millianna hostage in an energy-sapping bubble just to get a stronger reaction from Erza and Kagura.
* InTheBack: Stabs Kagura from behind right before she surrenders to Erza.
* ItOnlyWorksOnce: She apparently has a way to counter the Nakagami armor, but we have yet to see it.
* ItsPersonal: She ''hates'' Erza. After joining Tartarus, she was only too happy to take over for Kyouka, and have a chance to finally settle the score with her.
** Subverted when we see the [[DeathSeeker true reason]] why she wants a rematch.

** During the challenge on the fourth day of the Grand Magic Games, she disarms Lucy of her keys and leaves her defenseless prior to resorting to giving her a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown that doesn't stop until Arcadios begs the referee to end the match.
*** This one in particular almost started an all-out brawl between Saber Tooth and Fairy Tail. She and the rest of Saber Tooth arguably got ''extremely'' lucky. Had a fight actually started it's unlikely that anybody in Saber Tooth would have walked away in one piece, especially given how many ludicrously powerful wizards were present in the coliseum at the time (two official Wizard Saints, one former Wizard Saint, at least four other wizards on par with a Saint... and most of them are members of [[BadassCrew Fairy Tail]]!).
** She declares she's holding Lector hostage right as Sting gives her his heartfelt gratitude for saving him.
** Lastly, she holds Millianna hostage and shows her magic being sapped in front of Erza and Kagura just to provoke them. And ''then'' she whip Millianna's back into a bloody mess of scars to pass the time while Erza and Kagura duke it out, and returns by getting Kagura InTheBack just as she surrenders to Erza.
** She even doesn't care at all when Jiemna, her own father, is hit by Sting. Yes, he was a bastard in every way but it is supposed to be her father still. Considering his [[AbusiveDad treatment]] of her. It's not that surprising.
** Once Erza is turned into a child with limited magic power, she challenges her to a fight to the death.
** [[OverlyLongGag And]] [[SerialEscalation now]], she's doing it ''again'', only this time she has become a demon, and she's going to show Erza her 'new power' after Erza had been fighting (not to mention [[ColdBloodedTorture tortured by]]) Kyouka for several straight chapters.

** A flashback in Chapter 388 shows us that that is ''exactly'' the case, with Ziemma even making her strip naked [[DisproportionateRetribution just because she cried from her being hit]].

He later outright admits that he feels ''nothing'' for Minerva as a father, and only saw her as a tool to be used at best.
* AmbitionIsEvil: He willingly let Tartaros transform him into a demon for power. He also remarks to Mard Greer's face that he plans to usurp him right after he kills Sting and Rogue. Apparently, turning Minerva into a demon was also ''his'' idea, not Kyouka's.

You lose even once, he'll both embarrass you in front of the other members, then boot you out of the guild. It's a wonder he even has a guild with such a harsh rule in place. Also, no animals are allowed to wear the guild mark.
** As a child, Minerva cried when he hit her. His response? Strip her naked and throw her into the woods until she stopped.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: In his first appearance, he had Yukino stand in before him and the other members, orders her to strip naked, throws a bottle at her head and then kicks her out of the guild.
* EvilCounterpart[=/=]ShadowArchetype: He seems to be what Laxus would have turned into had Natsu and Gajeel not stopped him in the Fantasia arc.
** Also is one to Makarov, both being Guildmasters but have totally different viewpoints on their guilds membership.

* GagNose: Despite being pretty large and bulky, he has a surprisingly thin, long nose.

* MadeOfIron: Takes several lightning- and fire-enhanced attacks from Natsu without any visible injury. A full-throttle Dragon Force blast from Sting, however, put a hole through his chest. He ''survived''.
* NotQuiteDead: Many thought he was dead after he had a hole blown through his chest by Sting. He survived.
* ProphetEyes: His eyes are white, round and surrounded by a black shade. They make him look a lot creepier.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: A ''huge'' believer of this. The only instance where he accepted losing was when Sting got last place on the Chariot event, and this was only due to being unaware of Sting's motion sickness beforehand.
** It seems he only considers this with actual fights however as Olga didn't receive any consequence for getting 4th place in the Pandemonium/MPF event.

The two also mock Natsu for failing to kill Acnologia despite not knowing the details behind the incident or having actually seen the dragon in action. When they're faced with real dragons, they find that they're tougher than they imagined; just because they ''killed'' dragons before, that doesn't mean they ''fought'' them.
** And this comes back to bite them in the ass when they're forced to fight real dragons and find they're much tougher then he thought. What's more said dragon he killed ''requested'' it of him to complete his training. Rogue's dragon likewise was just ill and he mostly [[MercyKill mercy killed him.]]
* ArrowCatch: His introduction involves him catching and then eating an arrow fired at Rogue.
* BadassBoast: Before launching an attack, he has a tendency to describe, in an arrogant manner, how that particular move will affect his opponent. However, every one of those moves has little to none of the desired effects on Natsu.
* BareYourMidriff: Most of his outfits show off his abs.
* BenevolentBoss: Under his leadership, Saber Tooth has become a much nicer place. Even the citizens of the town where Saber Tooth is located say their lives have improved because they no longer have to deal with [[BadBoss Ziemma]].

* DeerInTheHeadlights: He's about to attack the severely wounded Fairy Tail members in the last moments of the tournament, but one look at their determination and he freezes up completely before realizing he can't go through with it.

** When Natsu raids their lodge seeking to fight Ziemma, she just teleports Happy into her arms to get him to stop.
** She transports Lector to safety right before Ziemma tries to blast him, but tells Sting he can only see him again if Saber Tooth wins.
** She holds Millianna hostage in an energy-sapping bubble just to get a stronger reaction from Erza and Kagura.
* InTheBack: Stabs Kagura from behind right before she surrenders to Erza.
* ItOnlyWorksOnce: She apparently has a way to counter the Nakagami armor, but we have yet to see it.
* ItsPersonal: She ''hates'' Erza. After joining Tartarus, she was only too happy to take over for Kyouka, and have a chance to finally settle the score with her.
** Subverted when we see the [[DeathSeeker true reason]] why she wants a rematch.
* {{Jerkass}}: Let's put it this way: She makes {{Jerkass}} extraordinaire Ziemma's KickTheDog moments look like ''complete child's play''. And if you look at the entry just below this one, she just keeps on going. Of course they could be because he didn't have enough screen time.
* KickTheDog[=/=]KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: To what could be considered SerialEscalation levels. Here is the list:
** During the challenge on the fourth day of the Grand Magic Games, she disarms Lucy of her keys and leaves her defenseless prior to resorting to giving her a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown that doesn't stop until Arcadios begs the referee to end the match.
*** This one in particular almost started an all-out brawl between Saber Tooth and Fairy Tail. She and the rest of Saber Tooth arguably got ''extremely'' lucky. Had a fight actually started it's unlikely that anybody in Saber Tooth would have walked away in one piece, especially given how many ludicrously powerful wizards were present in the coliseum at the time (two official Wizard Saints, one former Wizard Saint, at least four other wizards on par with a Saint... and most of them are members of [[BadassCrew Fairy Tail]]!).
** She declares she's holding Lector hostage right as Sting gives her his heartfelt gratitude for saving him.
** Lastly, she holds Millianna hostage and shows her magic being sapped in front of Erza and Kagura just to provoke them. And ''then'' she whip Millianna's back into a bloody mess of scars to pass the time while Erza and Kagura duke it out, and returns by getting Kagura InTheBack just as she surrenders to Erza.
** She even doesn't care at all when Jiemna, her own father, is hit by Sting. Yes, he was a bastard in every way but it is supposed to be her father still. Considering his [[AbusiveDad treatment]] of her. It's not that surprising.
** Once Erza is turned into a child with limited magic power, she challenges her to a fight to the death.
** [[OverlyLongGag And]] [[SerialEscalation now]], she's doing it ''again'', only this time she has become a demon, and she's going to show Erza her 'new power' after Erza had been fighting (not to mention [[ColdBloodedTorture tortured by]]) Kyouka for several straight chapters.
*** [[DeathSeeker Or not]]...
* KickTheSonOfABitch[=/=]TheDogBitesBack: However causing her father to be kicked out of the guild due to his own rules was completely justified and karmic.
* LackOfEmpathy: She seems pleased when her father is gutted by Sting (though to be fair, that could be because of [[AbusiveDad his treatment of her]]). Even moreso when she uses the chance to manipulate Sting with the promise of getting Lector back.
* LadyOfWar: Uses SheFu in battle while retaining an air of calm and grace.
* [[LikeFatherLikeSon Like Father, Like Daughter]]: Based on what she does to Lucy, it seems she inherited his cruel tendencies too. Subverted because it was most likely beaten into her, rather than her simply taking after him.
** A flashback in Chapter 388 shows us that that is ''exactly'' the case, with Ziemma even making her strip naked [[DisproportionateRetribution just because she cried from her being hit]].
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming: Admits this when talking about Millianna's screams as she tortured her while waiting for Erza and Kagura to finish their match.
* MakeupIsEvil: In contrast to Lucy and Erza, she wears a noticable amount of makeup.
* ManipulativeBitch: Vying with Pre-TimeSkip Ultear for the top spot. Makes Sting believe Lector's life is on her hands to get him to fight with the PowerOfFriendship.
** She also uses Millianna as a hostage to give Erza and Kagura more incentive to fight each other. Erza seems to catch on and keeps a level head, but Kagura quickly flies into rage and starts doing exactly what Minerva wants.
* NoHoldsBarredBeatdown: To Lucy on Day 4 of the Grand Magic Games.
** And later to Erza in the Sun Village arc, where Erza is a child who can't fight back.
* OdangoHair: Her hair is tied into a pair of bun-shaped loops at both sides of her head, and a [[BraidsOfAction braid]] is present some inches below each of such loops.
* OhCrap: Immediately loses her composure when Erza actually manages to hurt her, and even more when Erza [[NoSell cuts through her magic]] and kicks her [[SmugSnake arrogant]], [[{{Qipao}} qipao'd]] hiney.
** And another one when she returns to Succubus Eye's headquarters to find the place trashed, the other guild members reduced to paper dolls, and Tartarus' Kyouka calling Succubus Eye too 'weak' to work for them. When Kyouka says she's about to find out if the same is true for Minerva, her eyes go wide with fear.

* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Probably even moreso than the other demons from the Book of Zeref; she ''was'' human, and following her defeat at the hands of Kyouka, has been resurrected as a demon.

* SoreLoser: Of the worst kind. Just because she lost to Fairy Tail in the [[TournamentArc Grand Magic Games,]] she flees Saber Tooth and joins a Dark Guild to exact revenge on them. This clearly contrasts most of her former guild-mates, who have [[GracefulLoser accepted their defeat]] and vow to create a more caring atmosphere at Saber Tooth.
* TheStarscream: She does not hesitate to usurp her father and kick him out of the guild the moment he was beaten.

When her magic proves ineffective against Erza's new armor, she starts losing it and yelling for Erza to stop. And finally after Saber Tooth loses the final round, [[BrokenTears she is reduced to a sobbing wreck.]]
** Suffers an even worse one after Erza easily beats her again even after she turned into a demon. She turns into a DeathSeeker as a result until Sting and Rogue save her.
* WouldHurtAChild: While her Succubus Eye superior turned Ezra into a child, she takes too much pleasure in beating her like that.
** Becomes even more [[HarsherInHindsight harsh]] when you learn her backstory, that her father beat her and made her strip like he did with Yukino. [[FridgeHorror It's possible she saw the same weakness in the young Erza which only made her want to kill her even more]].
* YouAreNotAlone: [[spoiler: The reason she wants Erza to kill her is a belief that, because of her actions, no one wants her around. Erza finds this ridiculous and tells her there is someone out there who wants her. Sting and Rogue then show up specifically looking for her to bring her home.]]
