[[folder:Bozu & Sue]]
!!!Bozu is voiced by: Hiroki Goto (JP), Dave Cain (EN)\\
Sue is voiced by: Kyoko Namekawa (JP), Kia Fulton (EN)
[[quoteright:256:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boze_and_sue.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:256:Top: Bozu; Bottom: Sue]]

Two members of Phantom Lord who act as Gajeel's lackeys. Bozu uses Sound Magic, which lets him produce deafening sounds to hinder his opponents. Sue uses Mirror Magic, with which she can deflect others' magic back at them.
----
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Both. Bozu looks to be of African descent and Sue might be Indian as she has a small, green oval-shaped jewel (similar to a Bindi) in the center of her forehead which is usually seen in Indian Hindu culture.
* AttackReflector: Sue. Her Mirror Magic utilizes numerous mirrors, which are used to absorb and reflect an enemy's attacks, as well as to temporarily disable an opponent's movements.
%%* BaldOfAwesome
%%* BaldOfEvil: Bozu.
* ButtMonkey: Gajeel threatens to blame them in case of Lucy's death. They also get caught in Gajeel and Natsu's attacks and are flung around like pinballs.
* ContinuityCameo: They appear briefly alongside Bora in the anime's Fantasia parade sequence. Then again, during the Grand Magic Games arc where all of the other guilds are fighting the dragons.
* CoolShades: Bozu sports a pair of gold-framed glasses that have purple lenses, with one of these lenses being mostly broken.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: After Phantom Lord is disbanded, they turn out to be pretty decent people.
* TheDitz: Sue thinks Happy is a red dog, but [[FridgeBrilliance considering her magic]]...
* KarmaHoudini: Unless you consider the ButtMonkey entry above, and the fact that their guild gets disbanded, they don't suffer much retribution for what they do to Reedus and Loke.
* MusicalAssassin: Bozu’s Magic is based on sound. His attacks utilize various levels of sound intensity (visually shown as a swarm of musical notes), which can either stun his opponent or knock them unconscious.
* NiceHat: Sue wears a purple, jester-like hat adorned with the Phantom Lord symbol.
* PrettyInMink: Bozu has a furred collar on his jacket.
%%* SleevesAreForWimps: Sue.
%%* ThoseTwoBadGuys
* {{Tsundere}}: Sue, for Happy, of all people.
* [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair You Gotta Have Green Hair]]: Sue has dark green hair.

[[folder:Daphne]]
!!!Voiced by: Creator/YuuKobayashi (JP), Gwendolyn Lau (EN)
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daphne.png]]

A young woman who saw a dragon as a child, and resolves to take revenge on the people who didn't believe her by creating an artificial dragon powered by Dragon Slayer Magic.

----
* ArcVillain: Of her own self-entitled {{filler}} arc, where she lures in and traps Natsu to use him as a battery for her dragon robot and then attempts to destroy Magnolia with it.
* UsefulNotes/AmericanAccents: In the English dub, she speaks with a Southern twang. It's fake, though, and she drops it when [[LetsGetDangerous she decides to get serious]].
* BadBoss: Whenever her lizard-men are destroyed, she shrugs it off and [[WeHaveReserves makes more]]. Also present when she ordered her artificial dragon hatchlings to devour one another for "failing" to detect the villagers she made vanish, even though it wasn't their fault.
* ContinuityCameo: Is very briefly seen in episode 114 inside a prison cell. The end of the 2014 anime also listed her arc among the callbacks of the previous stories.
* CardCarryingVillain: While never stating to be outright evil, the vibes are still there.
* ClimaxBoss: Was ''supposed'' to be this in the anime, but the anime continued past her arc due to popularity.
* CuteAndPsycho: Constantly switches between cheerful with a high-pitched voice to sinister with a deep, creepy voice.
* DeerInTheHeadlights: Right before Natsu knocks her out, she sees the image of Igneel behind him, which brings her to tears at seeing a dragon again.
* DisproportionateRetribution: She gets revenge on the villagers who ignored her by tampering with the invisibility spell they use to hide from her proto-dragons, making it so they remain invisible for all time. When Natsu defeats her, the curse disappears.
* DittoFighter: Her Lizardmen who copy the fighting style of her opponents, effectively making a MirrorMatch.
%%* EvilIsHammy
* EvilIsPetty: Not to the extent that Jose was, but ''good god''! She uses her '''own hometown''' as a test subject for her deranged experiment [[DisproportionateRetribution because no one believed her claims about seeing a dragon when she was a kid]], has her artificial spawn [[{{Squick}} eat themselves]] for merely malfunctioning, and attempts to eventually destroy not just Magnolia, but the '''entire damn continent''' with her Dragonoid. Seriously, [[{{Understatement}} that's petty]].
%%* FauxAffablyEvil
* FreudianExcuse: She saw a dragon as a child, but no one in her town believed her when she told them. When the dragons never came back, she decided to make one instead, ''no matter what''.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Not a bad plan using Dragon Slayer Magic to power your artificial dragon... unless it's Natsu, one of the most HotBlooded [[PhlebotinumOverload people around]].
%%* HotScientist
* {{Jerkass}}: Definitely, she'll achieve her goal by any means necessary and doesn't care who she has to use or hurt in the process.
* MadScientist: Of the magi-tech variety, her ultimate goal it to make a artificial dragon of her own, though it ends up corrupted in her pursuit to the point she wishes to use it to take over Fiore.
%%* {{Meganekko}}
* MotorMouth: Serious case of it, and the English dub turns it UpToEleven.
* NiceHat: Wears a big, white, "Boss of the Plains" hat decorated with hot pink buttons. The hat itself sports an intriguing design; rather than a normal crown, the crown of the hat is shaped rather similar to a cat's ears.
* NonActionBigBad: She's not a physical fighter in the slightest and relies sorely on her lizard men for the brute force and controls the dragonoid through her console. When forced face to face with Natsu, she can do nothing but shrink back.
* OlderThanTheyLook: It's hard to notice, but in the flashback of her "experiment", she looks '''exactly''' the same as in the present day back when Natsu was still a kid. Maybe those Marimo-chan aren't completely bogus after all...
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Obviously not much of a fighter. She has her proto-dragons do all the battling for her and controls her dragon from her cockpit. Once Natsu breaks free and blasts through her guards, she's left at his mercy.
* SnakeOilSalesman: In addition to being a wizard and mad scientist, she's also a con artist who sells bogus diet food products to fund her experiments.
* StupidEvil: Despite being a scientist and making a highly dangerous artificial dragon, she still has some obvious stupidity, thinking she was good enough to harness [[HotBlooded Natsu's]] power for her own selfish desires. Makarov refers to her as a "reckless fool" for thinking that she could recreate an actual dragon, and [[IdiotHero Natsu]] of all people calls her a shame to Igneel's legacy before oneshoting her.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Metamo-chan, which is a [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything sausage-looking thing]] on a stick.
* TooDumbToLive: See StupidEvil above for full details.
* VerbalTic: Hai, hai! (Yes, yes!)

He's also Fairy Tail's trusted informant, keeping the guild up to date with what's going on in the kingdom. He helps his Earth-land counterpart in his mission to rescue his trapped guildmates.

----

%%* IntrepidReporter
* NiceHat: He wears a dark blue fedora hat with a metal studded band.

[[caption-width-right:260:[[labelnote:Click here for spoiler]]http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/imitatia_6.png[[/labelnote]]]]

A young woman who claims to be Lucy's relative. She arrives at Fairy Tail's doorstep one day carrying a memento from Lucy's father, which sets in motion a chain of events that threatens the end of the world. In reality, she is a member of the Reborn Oración Seis, created by Midnight/Brain II from an old doll of Lucy's named "Gonzales".

----
* AlasPoorVillain: Despite deceiving them all, once Imitatia tries to save Lucy and is turned back into a doll by Brain II, who has the nerve to step on the doll and mocking her, Natsu is consumed by rage and Romeo cries.
* AntiVillain: Type II as Michelle was driven by loneliness to be with Lucy again, that her deepest wish was to have the good times back. Sadly it was not meant to last.
* ArtificialHuman: Thanks to Midnight/Brain II she was able to come to life instead of having to remain waiting for Lucy to find her again. Unfortunately, in order to stay alive, she became a member of the Oracion Seis and had to do what Midnight/Brain II ordered her to do.
* BareYourMidriff: When she reveals her true intentions, her [[EvilCostumeSwitch new outfit]] consists of showing more skin as opposed to what she once wore.
* BeingEvilSucks: She hates having to manipulate Lucy, but believes that as long as she can be with her in the end, it's all worth it.
* BerserkerTears: While trying to free Lucy from the Infinity Clock.
* BigEater: Since her stomach has been empty for three days when she meets Lucy, it may be justified.
* CerebusRetcon: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]]. Her true form is later shown to be a DarkerAndEdgier variant of a flower-themed dress her doll form came with.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Toward Lucy, as her true wish was to keep her big sister for herself, without Natsu or the rest of her guildmates in the way.
%%* CoolSword
* CuteClumsyGirl: What she pretended to be as Michelle Lobster. She's [[DarkActionGirl anything but]].
* DarkActionGirl: She's strong and skilled enough in combat to keep up with Natsu, Elfman, and Romeo.
* DeadlyDisc: She can use her shield as a [[ChainsawGood saw blade on a cable.]]
* TheDragon: To Brain II, as she is one of two remaining villains left remaining at the end of the arc.
* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: In her true form, at least before her HeelFaceTurn. Natsu points it out, stating that even bad guys have a certain brightness in their eyes when they fight for what they believe in, which he sees as proof that part of her doesn't really want to do this.
* EntitledToHaveYou: Once Lucy has been kidnapped, Michelle goes on all the way up until she pulls a HeelFaceTurn that Lucy belongs to her, and that she refuses to share her with anyone. ''No one else''.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: After showing her true colors.
%%* ExpositoryHairstyleChange
* ExtremeOmnivore: Thinks Sugar Boy's goo looks tasty, and considers eating Byro's octopus Kanaloa.
%%* EyepatchOfPower
* FamilyThemeNaming: Whether intentional or not, her name is shared with a [[Music/TheBeatles Beatles]]' song, just like Lucy.
* FeelNoPain: As an ArtificialHuman, Imitatia doesn´t feel pain and most likely even fatigue, allowing her to stand her ground against Natsu and Elfman.
* FlowerMotifs: The rose after revealing herself as Imitatia.
%%* FragileFlower
* GenderBlenderName: Kid!Lucy originally wanted to call her "Gonzales", and while Layla tried to gently talk her down on that, the Eclipse Spirits Arc reveals that what she still called her. [[FridgeBrilliance Makes sense, since Lucy should have remembered early if her name really was "Michelle".]]
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: She flips out when Brain II tells her that even if she does remain by Lucy's side forever by merging her with the Infinity Clock, she and everyone else won't even know Lucy exists.
* GreenThumb: She can produce thorny vines to attack.
%%* HeelFaceTurn
* IJustWantToBeLoved: Lucy stopped playing with her as a child when her mother died. Being turned into a human by Brain II allows her to re-experience being Lucy's "sister".
* IWillWaitForYou: A tragic example of this as when Layla died, all the grief piled onto a young Lucy at the time was too much to bear that she couldn't even look at Michelle without being reminded of her mother. Michelle understood this, and waited patiently for her for the day Lucy would come back to her. Lucy never came back, thus kick starting all the events of the arc.
* InelegantBlubbering[=/=]OcularGushers: [[RunningGag "Need a tissue?"]]
%%* TheIngenue
* IntergenerationalFriendship: She is an ArtificialHuman at least one month old with the appearance of a 20-something-year-old who forms a strong, sisterly bond with Lucy, a chronologically 24-year-old girl who is physically 17.
* ItsAllMyFault: Blames herself for delivering Lucy the Infinity Clock hand, which set in motion the events leading to the clock's completion. Later [[SubvertedTrope subverted when she reveals this to have been part of her plan]]. Then played straight again after Brain II reveals what'll happen to Lucy after she's absorbed into the clock and that she was nothing more then a pawn that he exploited.
* LivingToys: She's actually a doll that Lucy played with all the time when she was a child and called her "little sister" in her own fantasies, given life by Brain II's magic to serve in the Neo Oracion Seis.
* LongLostRelative: She is Lucy's distant cousin, or so she claims. She's actually Lucy's sister...[[MetaphoricallyTrue at least, that's what both of them believed once]].
* LoveMakesYouEvil: It was her desire to be with Lucy again that drove her to agree with becoming a member of the Neo-Oracion Seis, do anything to have her wish come true.
* LoveRedeems: After realizing her big mistake, she tries to rescue Lucy from merging with the Infinity Clock, and even in 'death' her voice reaches Lucy (who's already merged with said clock) into providing emotional support.
* MagicalEyes: Her left eye can transform into the symbol of Oración Seis.
* MetaphoricallyTrue: She really is Lucy's sister, albeit a make-believe one from Lucy's childhood fantasies.
%%* TheMole
* MurderTheHypotenuse: She attempts to kill Natsu, and wipe Fairy Tail out so that she can keep Lucy all to herself.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[DoubleSubversion Doubly subverted]]; she pretends to feel guilty for "unwittingly" bringing about the creation of the Infinity Clock, but once she learns that she won't even know Lucy exists once she's completely merged with the clock, she is genuinely horrified by what she's done.
%%* NiceHat
* {{Not Quite|Dead}} DeadPersonImpersonation: She takes her name and part of her backstory of a comatose woman unrelated to the Heartfilia family.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: While her affection for Lucy was genuine, she intentionally played up the persona of an emotional, non-combative rich lady to drop everyone's guard.
%%* {{Ojou}}
%%* OjouRinglets
%%* OperaGloves
* OrphansOrdeal: She was once part of a wealthy plantation family that died in a "terrible ordeal", leaving her as the only survivor. Because she has nowhere else to go after giving Lucy [[OrphansPlotTrinket her father's memento]], she is taken under Lucy's wing. It later turns out this part of her backstory is fabricated.
%%* PimpedOutDress
%%* PinkMeansFeminine
%%* PinocchioSyndrome
* PoorCommunicationKills: Really, if she had just told Lucy who she was right off the start, there's a good chance she could've kept her human form and the events of the Key of the Starry Sky arc could've been avoided altogether.
* PressurePoint: Her magic, Cilice, wraps around her targets and attacks their weak points all at once.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Or in her case, being turned back into a lifeless doll.
%%* SomethingAboutARose
* TearsOfRemorse: Twice. Once before she reveals her true colors, and again when she tries to save Lucy from the Infinity Clock upon learning her actions will wipe out all memory of Lucy's existence.
* ThatManIsDead: After she reveals herself to be an Oración Seis member.
%%* TheTragicRose
* TragicBromance: While she and Lucy were never biologically sisters, they clearly saw each other as one. Too bad due to how things worked out, Michelle 'dies' and Lucy is left to carry with her doll of Michelle, never to speak to one another again. Even after she betrayed her, Lucy still misses having Michelle by her side.
* TragicDream: After spending so many years alone, she wanted those good times she used to have with Lucy again, sadly it wasn't meant to last.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] and played straight; she fully knows delivering the Infinity Clock hand to Lucy will help bring about the end of the world, but she didn't know that awakening the Infinity Clock's power would require [[RetGone retgonning]] Lucy.
* UnwittingPawn: Played by Brain II into bringing together the Infinity Clock and delivering Lucy so it can be activated.
%%* WalkingSpoiler
* WasItAllALie: The answer is no, not all of it; see MetaphoricallyTrue above. Also, she really did receive the Infinity Clock hand from Jude, who really did intend to give it to Lucy for safekeeping.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She just wanted to be reunited with her former owner.
* WhipItGood: She can summon her vines to whip her targets, and she can connect them to her shield to create an [[ChainsawGood impromptu saw]].
* {{Yandere}}: A platonic-family kind of love, but refuses to share Lucy with anyone else as she claims that she belongs to her.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Once she tries to rescue Lucy from the Infinity Clock, Brain II promptly reverts Imitatia back to her doll form.

* NonActionBigBad: His main threat is in the political power he has behind the Zentopia Church. When finally confronted he shows he does have some Magic, but he mainly uses it to hold Laki hostage, and once Byro finally turns on him and neutralizes it, Gildarts takes him down almost instantly.

[[quoteright:260:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/byro_cracy.png]]

The leader of the Legion Corps, and the Earth-land counterpart of Byro. He is fiercely yet blindly loyal to the Archbishop, and punishes anyone who goes against Zentopia's teachings. He uses magic to negate all magical affects around him. He also keeps a giant octopus, Kanaloa, by his side.

----
* AntiMagic: How his magic works. It's so strong that it can cancel out Gildarts' [[PersonOfMassDestruction Magic]].
* BadassBaritone: He's got a deep voice, and anyone who can keep up with [[TheAce Gildarts]] for any length of time is someone to watch out for.
* BerserkButton: Anyone who betrays Legion on his watch must suffer the consequences.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: Compared to his Edolas counterpart, he's the big guy, and much more of a menace.
* TheComicallySerious: Calls Michelle a demon for wanting to eat Kanaloa.
** In the english dub, he points out that Kanaloa is not an entrée.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: He's set up as the ArcVillain until the Reborn Oración Seis enters the scene.
%%* GoodIsNotNice
%%* {{Jerkass}}
* KnightTemplar: Perhaps the biggest of all the members. Even when he begins to have personal doubts about the mission, he still presses on with fulfilling it until he has confirmed proof that the church has been manipulated...and then he decides that [[WellIntentionedExtremist the only way to stop the Infinity Clock is to kill Lucy, as there seems to be no other way without the world falling into chaos]]. The other Knights had by this point either pulled a full HeelFaceTurn, were willing to let Fairy Tail sort it out themselves, or were able to be talked down. Gildarts had to punch him out to finally stop him long enough for the Archbishop to tell him otherwise.
* LawfulStupid: Even after his HeelRealization, he sees Fairy Tail as his enemy until the Archbishop orders him to stop.
* NotSoStoic: After Natsu and Co. call him out on his actions.
* OneManArmy: He is trained to take on at least 50 men at once. He can even trade physical blows with [[TheAce Gildarts]] for a time.
* PerpetualFrowner: Nearly every scene he's in has him frowning, and his subordinates actually note it's creepy when he ''does'' smile.
* RightHandAttackDog: A giant octopus named Kanaloa.
* ShapingYourAttacks: "Divine Arrow" which, as the name suggests, is an arrow-shaped wave.
* SimpleStaff: Wields a white staff adorned with a crescent, which he can use to nullify magic.
* SizeShifter: Kanaloa can turn from giant proportions to small enough to fit in his hand.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: "Cracy" is spelled in katakana as "Kuraki".
%%* TheStoic
%%* TheUnsmile
* WhenHeSmiles: Tries smiling for the first time before seeing Fairy Tail off, but it takes him a great deal of effort, and the other Legionnaires joke about how creepy they think it looks.

* BerserkButton: She hates being called a puppet.
* CurbStompBattle: Gives the Strauss siblings one after Mary takes control of Satan Soul away from Mirajane. However, when Mirajane switches to her Halphas form, Mary finds herself on the receiving end of this even after merging with Satan Soul itself.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Her "Command Magic: Second Movement", which allows her to extract magic from her target, and "Command Magic: Third Movement", which makes her merge with her target.

* SkunkStripe: Like her Edolas counterpart, she has a shock of white hair.
* TookALevelInKindness: Once she pulls her HeelFaceTurn, she becomes a whole lot nicer, even apologizing to Lucy for her previous actions.

* BlobMonster: He has the power to summon massive blobs of phlegm that have minds of their own and paralyze anyone they "eat". He refers to them as his "dogs".
* CatchPhrase: "[[GratuitousEnglish Spicy!]]"

* DarkActionGirl: Initially, she grows out of it by the end of the arc.
* FragileSpeedster: Her powers make her fast and gives some strength to her kicks but she can easily be smacked down by strong attacks.
* {{Jerkass}}: Unlike her Edolas counterpart, who loves Panther Lily and hates violence, she loves violence and [[KickTheDog hates Panther Lily]] (and cats in general).
** TookALevelInKindness: She starts warming up after Lucy rescues her. [[PetTheDog She even apologizes to Panther Lily for her earlier "I hate cats" remark when all is said and done.]]

----
* AttackReflector: His "Ricochet" shield can deflect anything, be they magical or physical attacks.
* CasanovaWannabe: Like to think of himself as a ladies man and any girl he takes a fancy too is automatically his "girlfriend". When he moves on to the next girl, he claims his previous crushes to be his "Ex".
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He's a goof, but he can make good use of his weaponry when he gets serious.

* {{Expy}}:
** Basically he's Erza's replacement for her Edolas counterpart, since of course Erza is the Earth-land version. He likewise has a similar design, uses magic weaponry and has an opposite personality (Erza's strict and no-nonsense; this guy is anything but).

A mysterious woman who does not like wizards or magic, and holds one half of the [[MacGuffin Phoenix Stone]]. She also cannot [[LaserGuidedAmnesia remember her past]].

----
* CallForward[=/=]ContinuityCameo: She and Momon appear in a panel in ''Fairy Tail Zero'' chapter 4.
* CryIntoChest: After she learns of her father's death, she and Lucy share their pain of losing their fathers without even being there, Éclair can only sob into Lucy's arms.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Despite members like Natsu and Lucy showing their willingness to interact with and befriend her, Éclair remained cold and emotionally distant. However, after spending time with them, as well as seeing the lengths to which they were willing to go to help her, Éclair gradually opened up more and became more accepting.
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: She dies in Lucy's arms before her body fades away.
* DisappearsIntoLight: After Momon and she say their final goodbyes to Natsu, the two form into a literal non malicious phoenix as they descend to the afterlife, leaving being a image of the Fairy Tail symbol as thanks for their efforts.
* DoesNotLikeMagic: Because magic is what made her immortal. After all, {{who wants to live forever}}?
* FaceDeathWithDignity: When Makarov presents the arrow that will end the phoenix and, in turn, kill Eclair. She has no objections since it will save her new friends despite Lucy's objections.
* FortuneTeller: She works as a fortune teller to give people advice by recalling her pasts. This isn't because she has magic of her own, or even any precognitive ability, but because she's immortal.
* GoOutWithASmile: She clearly has no regrets on spending her final moments in the arms of her new friend, Lucy, and even tries to convince the poor girl that she's ready to move onto the afterlife.
* {{Immortality}}: She's kept immortal by the blood of the phoenix.
* ImmortalityHurts: She might have CompleteImmortality, but she feels pain just as well as any other person, and is genuinely horrified when it looks like she's gonna [[BurnTheWitch burn at the stake]].
* KilledOffForReal: At the end of the movie, to destroy the monster summoned by Prince Cream and Dyst. Her life is tied to the phoenix, so when it is destroyed, she has to go too. Lucy isn't happy, but Eclair is happy in death.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Éclair has very few to almost no memories of her past. The only thing she knew for certain was that she was meant to deliver the Phoenix Stone.
* {{Miko}}: The movie's titular Phoenix Priestess.
* NoOntologicalInertia: Her village elder gave her immortality in the hopes of locking away the Phoenix and that someday someone would be strong enough to destroy should it be resurrected. When it is, Markov finds the means to kill it and Fairy Tail manages to do so. Eclair finally dies as result since her lifeforce was linked to it.
* RapunzelHair: More noticeable when her hair comes undone as it goes down nearly to her feet.
* [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld Really 400 Years Old]]
* ShipperOnDeck: Seemingly for Natsu/Lucy; she tells Natsu that Lucy needs him and to help "mend her heart".
* TheStoic: Even towards children, Éclair maintains a straight face and speaks in a matter-of-fact tone when relaying information, telling things as they are and not sugarcoating the truth.
* TogetherInDeath: She reunites with Momon, who had earlier sacrificed himself to save her, after her death.

* BigBadWannabe: He's presented as the antagonist with ThePlan but he's also made out to be an ineffectual, small-minded villain, with the real threat being the Carbuncle guild he's hired to help him.
* DisproportionateRetribution: While he's interrogating Éclair in the prison, she headbutts him, bruising his nose. His reaction is to slash her shoulder with a dagger, and unlike the [[BloodlessCarnage anime]], we do see blood.

* DisneyVillainDeath: Falls from the Phoenix as he's defeated by Natsu.
* FreudianExcuse:
** His cameo on the movie's tie-in prequel shows that he developed an insatiable lust for power and eternal life...because his pet weasel died when he was a little boy. ...Yeah.
** Well it goes deeper obviously. It's not so much his weasel dying but Eclair (who at the time was working as a fortune teller when he came to her) telling him all things have to die eventually and to cherish your life while you can. He took it the wrong way however and was more afraid of dying.
* ImmortalitySeeker: He wishes to use the Phoenix blood to become immortal.
* MindOverMatter: His magic involves Telekinesis. He can use this magic to directly blast his opponent or to [[DishingOutDirt shoot him down with debris.]]
* NoSell: Thanks to his magic, he can simply push back anything thrown at him, even Natsu's flames.
* PyrrhicVillainy: He awakens the Phoenix as planned but doesn't get his desired immortality due to mistakenly believing it's the blood that will grant it, when really it's the ''tears''. A fact that Eclair never shared with anyone.
* TheStarscream: Just as Cream summons the phoenix, Dyst blasts the prince away in order to gain the power of {{Immortality}} for himself.
* VillainousBreakdown: After he manages to awaken the Phoenix, he tries to cut it to get at it's blood as he thinks it's the key to immortality (it's the tears actually), but can't break through its skin.

[[folder:Daphne]]

%%* {{Meganekko}}
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Metamo-chan, which is a [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything sausage-looking thing]] on a stick.

* InelegantBlubbering[=/=]OcularGushers: [[RunningGag "Need a tissue?"]]

* KnightTemplar: When it comes to fulfilling their orders from the Zentopia Church, especially ones from the Archbishop, they're ''very'' willing to go to dangerous lengths to fulfill them, even if that means hurting others.
* PoorCommunicationKills: They could have avoided resistance from Fairy Tail if they'd explained why they want the Infinity Clock parts.

* UnwittingPawn: They are manipulated by Oración Seis through the Archbishop into gathering the clock parts for them.

* DiscOneFinalBoss: He's set up as the ArcVillain until the Reborn Oración Seis enters the scene.
%%* GoodIsNotNice

----
* CallForward[=/=]ContinuityCameo: She and Momon appear in a panel in ''Fairy Tail Zero'' chapter 4.

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Éclair has very few to almost no memories of her past. The only thing she knew for certain was that she was meant to deliver the Phoenix Stone.
* {{Miko}}: The movie's titular Phoenix Priestess.
* NoOntologicalInertia: Her village elder gave her immortality in the hopes of locking away the Phoenix and that someday someone would be strong enough to destroy should it be resurrected. * TogetherInDeath: She reunites with Momon, who had earlier sacrificed himself to save her, after her death.

* DisneyVillainDeath: Falls from the Phoenix as he's defeated by Natsu.
* FreudianExcuse:
A wizard of the Carbuncle guild. He uses a sort of [[CastingAShadow Shadow Magic]].

----
* BladeBelowTheShoulder: Draws one from his sleeve while chasing Lucy and Éclair, claiming that it will drink their blood.
* CastingAShadow: Can literally turns himself into a shadow.
* TheDragon: Inside the guild he's one to Dyst, as he seems to be the most trusted of his men.
* FaceFramedInShadow: Almost all the time.
* GlassCannon: Taken down with one strong hit by Gajeel.
%%* HyperspaceArsenal
* IntangibleMan: He is even capable of going inside of people's bodies, where he usually stabs them with dozens of blades ''from the inside''. He cannot use it defensively, however. While he does make multiple shadow copies that ''are'' intangible, once you find the real him he's rather easy to take down.
%%* InTheHood
* KnifeNut: His usual manner of attack involves volleys of knives. [[FamilyUnfriendlyViolence Sometimes from the inside of the people.]]
* MaskPower: Because shadows and hoods weren't enough, it seems.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: Unlike his partners he doesn't boast and is much more ruthless, as seen when he immediatly attacks then chase after Lucy and Éclair when both are unprotected.
%%* TheStoic
* WolverineClaws: Seemingly his weapon of choice, composed of three blades.
