* AttentionWhore: As part of Inari's ReasonYouSuckSpeech he puts forward the suggestion that the root of Orochimaru's evil was that he liked being praised as a genius and being taken on as a student of the Third Hokage a bit too much. With him escalating - trying to keep peoples approval by putting effort into quick and easy paths to success like techniques that were foribbiden and poisons, when his teammates started to get into the limelight he copied their claims to fame (Healing, Sealing, Sage Arts) and then esclated further by copying trying to recreate and claim the abilities-traits of particularly famous Shinobi like the First Hokage's Wood Release, Madara's Sharigan and the Third Hokage's achievement of mastering every jutsu. [[VillanousBreakdown Orochimaru very much does not appreciate this assessment of his character.]]

* VillainousBreakdown: After Karasu destroys his ring, he becomes noticeably unhinged and goes out of the way to spitefully maim Karasu via EyeScream. Taken even further when Inari provides a very insulting summary of why Orochimaru developed into the person he is today while NoSelling attacks from him, this experience leaves Orochimaru roaring with rage and promising to kill Inari then resurrect him for torture.

* SempaiKohai: The sempai to Sir Naruto's kohai.

* SempaiKohai: The kohai to Deidara's sempai.

* KillEmAll: He was somehow behind the death of all Ootsutsuki on the moon, barring Hamura while alive.

* KillEmAll: Killed ''everyone else in his world'' for his own satisfaction. And then he does it ''again''.

* DangerouslyGenreSavvy: Why this version of Orochimaru was able to successfully take over Sasuke's body, he knew damn well Sasuke had no loyalty to him and was following his own agenda so he specifically did not teach Sasuke several important techniques - left flaws in his student he could exploit when the time came. Orochimaru is actually a little annoyed alternate versions of him were foolish enough to seriously train Sasuke as making the kid the most powerful Ninja possible was never the point of recruiting the Uchiha.

* AwesomenessByAnalysis: He can figure out the secrets behind his enemies techniques and then improve upon them with a glance. Chibaku notes he uses his Sharingan better than most Uchiha.

* GuardianEntity: His Yamata-no-Orochi jutsu.

* PowerNullifier: He can use a seal that shuts down people's chakra and organs.
* ShockAndAwe: His main element shown so far. Also has the ''Lightning'' ring, to make it clear.

* TaughtByExperience: The thing that allowed this Orochimaru into the top-tiers was that whenever he made a mistake he made sure he learned from it and developed techniques that would cover up his weaknesses or create a new technique that could counter a new threat. Chibaku sends him into a VillainousBreakdown by saying he only learned from what others did, and that he hadn't had an original thought in years.
* VillainousBreakdown: After Karasu destroys his ring.

* MadBomber: Just like in canon, though he seems to have standards, given that he thinks that the Warlord's [[ForTheEvulz love of death and destruction]] [[EvenEvilHasStandards is sick and twisted.]]

* NotSoDifferent: He points out that the Arashi clan is rather similar to Teikoku, with both organizations having near-impossible line-ups consisting of extremely dysfunctional people.

There are just two differences. One: Obito is a completely oblivious hypocrite. Two: He's a discount-bin version of the Warlord.

* NotSoDifferent: Despite dedicating her life to hating Mikoto if you gave one of them the right colored hair dye she could use Mikoto as a mirror.
