One of the Nine Great Clans, the Beldrobbaen have a very traditional view, unfortunately, this is part of what's killing them, as their refusal to adopt new members or mate with anyone who is not of Val status (combined with the loss of an entire generation of girls in a demon attack) has meant that their numbers are severely diminished.

!The Clan as a whole
* AnimalMotifs (the spider)
* DarkIsNotEvil (they dress in all black and revere the darkness... but their members make up some of the nicest ([[hottip:*: by human standards]]) members of the cast)
* DespairEventHorizon (the massacre of a generation of girls at Orthorbbae caused many members to cross it)
* DyingRace (in the sense that the clan is like a race unto itself within Chel, their numbers took a big hit during the Orthorbbae massacre and entire houses have died out)
* LawfulNeutral (their general strategy and clan philosophy is to wait, like a spider, and not involve themselves in outside disputes unless necessary [[invoked]])
* ProudScholarRace (they have an entire house of males devoted to scholarly pursuits)
* TheRemnant (they're one of the oldest clans in Chel, and it's heavily implied that there might even be a few dark elves hiding in the clan)
* SlobsVersusSnobs (somewhat on the snobbish side of the scale as they pointedly refuse to mate with non-Vals and do not adopt commoners. !!Waes'soloth Val'Beldrobbaen

The powerful and mysterious Ill'haress of the Beldrobbaen, Waes'soloth is described as being the only thing holding the declining Beldrobbaen clan together.

* CurtainsMatchTheWindow (probably natural, since Waes is most likely a second generation drow)
* {{Goth}}
* HotMom
* MamaBear (single handedly killed every slave in her fortress after a tainted slave went after one of the children)
** [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6989 "This means I will not have to regret sending back their envoy short a few limbs."]] Don't mess with Waes' kids.
* ModestRoyalty (considering her status and compared to the [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=5557 other Ill'haresses]] Waes dresses [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=488 pretty plainly]], though her lack of ornamentation may be as much a statement as their inclusion on others' clothes. Another explanation could be that she dresses modestly because it's rude to stand out or wear bright colors in Beldrobbaen culture, as Naal'suul explained to Kiel'ndia)
* MultiArmedAndDangerous (apparently her spider "legs" are actually shadows)
* NoIndoorVoice (as can be inferred from her speech bubbles, she speaks in a loud, echoing voice)
* PeekABangs
* PersonOfMassDestruction (according to WordOfGod, Waes'soloth is old enough and powerful enough that, if she went all out and had nothing to lose, she could take out an entire ''army'')

!!Naal'suul Val'Beldrobbaen

Waes'soloth's daughter and heir who was the only person to survive the massacre at Orthobbae-albeit heavily tainted. She is [[spoiler: was]] a member of Chry'stel's GirlPosse at Orthobbae and Kiel'ndia's best friend. Naal'suul is often the [[OnlySaneMan voice of reason]] amongst her friends.

* [[spoiler:BodyHorror]] ([[spoiler:what the glutton demon turned her body into.]])
* BreakTheCutie (pre broken, though we do see flashbacks of before)
* CatchPhrase (to Kiel: "You're weird." Probably a compliment by now)
* CoolPet (her spider, usually seen riding on her back, nicknamed "Fuzz Fuzz" by fans)
* CryCute (see NotSoStoic)
* CutenessProximity (has this effect [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6738 on Kharla]] of all people)
* DeadpanSnarker (she makes the same sort of comments she did before her tainting, but due being an EmotionlessGirl now she does it with a deadpan expression)
* DarkIsNotEvil (dyes her hair black, dresses in all black, specializes in shadow sorcery, comes from a Clan that reveres darkness, and is the closest to what humans would consider good or moral)
* [[spoiler:DemonicPossession]]
* ElegantGothicLolita (many of her clothes, especially when she was younger, and [[http://www.drowtales.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/youngnaal_kiel_small.jpg one sketch]] of a young Naal describes her as "doll-like")
* EmotionlessGirl (somewhat, since she does show emotion, just comparatively little of it)
* GrayEyes (originally)
* [[spoiler:KillTheCutie]] ([[spoiler:it wasn't exactly unexpected, but the manner and timing were still a surprise]])
* MindRape (what being tainted did to her)
* NotSoStoic ([[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6786 one of the most powerful moments in the series thus far]] and one ''hell'' of a TearJerker)
** Later, [[spoiler:[[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7125 she starts crying right before her seed takes her over]]]].
* [[spoiler:NotQuiteDead]] (it's heavily implied that [[spoiler:at least ''something'' of Naal's original consciousness still exists, judging by the fact that she didn't eat Kiel]])
* PerkyGoth (originally)
* RomanticTwoGirlFriendship (with Kiel, and it's hard to deny after [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?order=chapters&id=1230 this]])
** Then there's [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=6783 this]] nuclear warhead of a ShipTease. The fandom nearly exploded with {{squee}}. May have officially upgraded to LesYay at this point.
* TooManyBelts (they help her feel secure. And yes, [[RuleThirtyFour the fandom ran with this]].)
* YourDaysAreNumbered (knows that her seed could overpower her any day now [[spoiler:and now it has]])
** WhyAmITicking (when her seed overpowers her, it will result in a rampaging demon that could pose a serious threat to anyone in the vicinity of her at the time)

!!Khal'harror Val'Beldrobbaen

A son of Waes'soloth and Naal'suul's younger brother. Unusually for members of his clan he has a rather upbeat personality. Is very interested in re-animating corpses and is rarely seen without ''Bob'', his ''[[TheMagnificent undead chicken of doom]]''.

* DraggedIntoDrag (along with [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7067 Nau'kheol]])
* GirlishPigtails (gets these when he gets DraggedIntoDrag)
* GrayEyes
* {{Necromantic}} (not yet, but he tells Naal that he'll bring her back as a golem when she dies, she tells him not to bother. [[spoiler:He does make a "Naal 2" to try and cheer up his mom, [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7907 with predictable results]].]])
* NightmareFetishist (likes bones and bodies just a bit too much... this leads to a FunnyBackgroundEvent where he can be seen [[http://www.drowtales.com/mainarchive.php?sid=7111 inspecting a dead body]] to see if it's suitable for golem making)
* PerkyGoth (compared to the rest of his clan, though Naal was very similar to him pre-tainting)
* PunnyName (his name is based on the French exclamation "Quel Horreur!" which means "The Horror!")
