* DramaticIrony: The entwined story of Kinoko Kingdom and Las Nevadas is best summed up as this. After El Rapids declared independence, Quackity, the country's President, decided to focus more on L'Manburgian politics throughout the rest of Season 2 and set off on his own to start construction on Las Nevadas to back up the country (and so that the fiancés could get hitched), leading him to seemingly abandon El Rapids without telling everyone else why he did so. This caused the country to become "stagnant", and Karl, Sapnap, and George decided to dissolve El Rapids to create Kinoko Kingdom (though this is also fueled by Karl being urged to move his library after "The Masquerade" to keep it out of the Blood Vines' reach). Though they intended to invite Quackity to the country, Karl, the one who was tasked with this, forgot due to his time-travelling-induced amnesia, and when George finally told Quackity about the country, it drove him down a spiral, believing everyone else to have abandoned him. When Sapnap finally sought Quackity out and actually ''talked'' and brought him to visit Kinoko, Quackity ''did'' acknowledge the miscommunication... only that ''Karl'' never told anyone about his memory issues, which had worsened tenfold in the meantime (so much that he forgot what Quackity ment to him), and Quackity himself started lashing out in response because ''he'' never confided in anyone about his own issues (i.e. copious amounts of trauma), to the point the two had a whole SecondActBreakup and pretty much placed restraining orders against each other. This is why [[PoorCommunicationKills communication is regarded as one of the server's greatest weaknesses]].
* MeaningfulName: "Kinoko" is the [[GratuitousJapanese Japanese]] word for mushroom, which the faction is themed around.

Karl joined around the Election, and went on to found Rutabagville with Sapnap before joining Manberg (though he now denies this) and got named creative director of New L'Manberg before getting angry about being left out of cabinet meetings and joined up with El Rapids, sacrificing one of his lives for it. During this time, he got into a polyamorous relationship with Sapnap and Quackity. \\

Karl is a time traveler, who jumps around the timeline in order to document events as they happen. He tends to disappear and reappear at random as he travels, and has a secret room where he stores all the stories he's collected from the past and future of the SMP. * AwesomeAnachronisticApparel: {{Zigzagged}} depending on the time period he travels to, but whenever Karl appears as himself in the past or future, he is almost always shown wearing his usual clothes -- a hoodie, trousers, and boots.
* BlessedWithSuck: Karl is a time traveler, and it's implied he's done a lot of work behind the scenes to stop events on the SMP from getting even worse, but it's also slowly causing him to lose his memory and sense of self. The episode "The Masquerade" of ''Tales'' mitigates this somewhat when a book in The Inbetween claims that it is possible for Karl to [[HopeSpot learn how to prevent losing memories every time he travels]]. Although the same book also reveals that he has no control over when, where, and how long he travels, and he probably never will have full control over his powers. There's also no telling how much he can trust [[GeniusLoci The Inbetween]], which is later revealed in "The Pit" to be a trap. Ultimately PlayedForDrama when the power-induced memory/identity loss, combined with PoorCommunicationKills, end up causing his relationships to fracture ''heavily''.

* HiddenDepths: Karl's outward personality is very cheerful and carefree, often spending his time messing around and making bright builds. However, Karl's secret journals show that he cares intensely for everyone on the server and desperately wants to use the knowledge he gains from his travels to help them one day live in peace. The normally nonchalant Karl takes his newfound role as a time traveler very seriously and refuses to tell even his closest friends of his journeys to keep them safe despite the ill effect it's having on his memory.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: His reason for siding with Schlatt during the Manburg-Pogtopia War was because he wanted to be recognized. This later continues to be a motivation for Karl even throughout his own arc in ''Tales'' -- the Other Side encouraged him to flee the Inbetween while telling him "For your friends, protect your stories", and in the Season 2 trailer, he says this outright:

One of Dream's closest friends and one of the eight original members of the SMP. He's known for his [[ColorBlindConfusion color blindness]] and for never showing up to plot-relevant episodes. He infiltrated the Manburg government as a member of Jschlatt's cabinet before returning to the Dream SMP proper, where Dream appointed him king. However, despite his title, it was clear that he held no power and was instead a PuppetKing, with Dream being the one calling the shots. When George started acting less neutral than desired, Dream dethroned him as king, claiming to do so for his safety. This ends up severely fracturing their friendship. George was offered the posistion of Vice President of El Rapids from Quackity, and eventually moves on to co-found Kinoko Kingdom with Karl and Sapnap. He is married to Ninja.\\

* PuppetKing: He was, for a time, the official king of the Dream SMP, having been promoted by Dream at the end of the L'Manburg Civil War. However, he's got next-to-no interest in ruling or politics, and holds little power. It's clear as day that it's really Dream calling the shots in the Dream SMP, and that George's title is InNameOnly.

* SketchySuccessor: George becomes this after Eret was briefly dethroned by Dream. His reign is wildly unpopular, many people consider him a week ruler for blind obedience to [[EvilChancellor Dream]] and weren't performing his duties as King. Even Dream realized this and decided to dethrone George and [[RightfulKingReturns reinstate Eret back on the throne]].
* ThoughtTheyKnewAlready: Type 3 occurs when Quackity meets up outside of Pandora's Vault. When Quackity tells George about [[Characters/DreamSMPLasNevadas the country he was building for them]], the (former) members of El Rapids, George asks him, "What about Kinoko Kingdom?". It turns out that Karl forgot to tell Quackity about the new country but told Sapnap and George that he did tell, and they just assumed Quackity never showed up. Instead, Quackity had no idea that his fiancés and brother-figure had built their own country and left El Rapids, and quickly came to the "conclusion" that they had abandoned him... and [[UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom immediately started spiralling]] after that.

One of Dream's former best friends, Sapnap is Bad's son and was most known for his near constant murder of pets, starting multiple wars by vengeful members seeking to avenge their fallen pets. Sapnap initially tried to play himself up as a WildCard, but was more bark then bite and got easily defeated by actual wild-cards, Techno and Dream during the Battle of the Lake, leading to him joining Karl's new faction Rutabagville, but later ended up siding with Manberg. Sapnap was a firm supporter of George when he was king, and after hearing that Dream didn't care about anything except for Tommy's discs and George's dethronement at Dream's hands fell out with him, joining Quackity's new faction of El Rapids in opposition of Dream. Sapnap would enter a polyamorous relationship with Karl and Quackity and would come to side with L'Manberg during the Doomsday War, managing to take out quite a lot of Techno's hound army before being defeated. Sapnap would assist Tommy and Tubbo in the Disc Confrontation and would help Karl start up Kinoko Kingdom. Sapnap firmly believes Dream should stay in prison, though he's sad about where he ended up, and is currently trying to keep his relationship together, to no avail. \\

George once tried to kill Sapnap during a light-hearted scuffle by knocking him into lava in The Nether only for Sapnap to calmly reveal that he often swims in lava for the ''fun of it.'' Sapnap initially tried to play himself up as a WildCard, but was more bark then bite and got easily defeated by actual wild-cards, Techno and Dream during the Battle of the Lake, leading to him joining Karl's new faction Rutabagville, but later ended up siding with Manberg. Sapnap was a firm supporter of George when he was king, and after hearing that Dream didn't care about anything except for Tommy's discs and George's dethronement at Dream's hands fell out with him, joining Quackity's new faction of El Rapids in opposition of Dream. Sapnap would enter a polyamorous relationship with Karl and Quackity and would come to side with L'Manberg during the Doomsday War, managing to take out quite a lot of Techno's hound army before being defeated. Sapnap would assist Tommy and Tubbo in the Disc Confrontation and would help Karl start up Kinoko Kingdom. Sapnap firmly believes Dream should stay in prison, though he's sad about where he ended up, and is currently trying to keep his polyamorous relationship together, to no avail. \\

* AmbiguouslyBrown: His initial skin has a deeply tanned complexion, but it is now {{averted|Trope}} as Sapnap's new skin portrays him closer to his real-life appearance as a white person.
* AnimalMotifs: Ironically, given his reputation, as a pet killer he has a more subtle one with dogs and wolves. Sapnap is a strong fighter and fiercely loyal, and even though he is going against Dream, deep down Sapnap still cares for his childhood friend. At one point, Dream even compares Sapnap calling out Dream's name while searching for him to "howling".

* TheBigGuy[=/=]TheBrute: Being a BloodKnight who is very good in a fight, he is usually this to the group he is part of while in battle.

* [[KnifeThrowingAct Bow-Shooting Act]]: Sapnap pretended to shoot ArrowsOnFire at Fungi, Niki's pet fox, and shot above him three times... before accidentally killing the fox with his fourth shot. Needless to say, Fundy, who gifted Niki the fox, was not amused.

* ColonelBadass: As the Head of Military of Kinoko Kingdom. Although he hasn't done much during his time as part of the country, considering his past exploits in battle, he's earned that title.

** Just to drive in the association with fire more, Sapnap is infamously associated with violence and the slaughter of innocent pets, and is HotBlooded, good at PvP and [[FireMeansChaos all-round impossible to contain]]; at the same time, he is often depicted as [[FireOfComfort a caretaker]], being the only member of the Dream Team and the Fiancés who has remained relatively functional[[note]]For clarification, Dream has a god complex and got locked up in jail for crimes against the server (and is currently a fugitive on the run), George is asleep half of the time, Karl is losing his memory involuntarily, and Quackity spiraled into a months-long "villain arc" because of his PTSD and seems to be only just start to recover[[/note]], and is extremely protective and warm to those he loves. Oh, and he's allegedly a PyroManiac to boot.

* {{Foil}}: To Punz, his brother-figure. Both are good at PvP and have a chaotic mindset to thrive on violence in major wars. Whenever the conflict is over, however, Sapnap settles down and stay loyal to his friends, and has experienced CharacterDevelopment to become more peaceful, but Punz only cares for his own profit and is willing to betray anyone as long as there is money for him to obtain.
* FunctionalAddict: He offhandedly mentions that he has a drug addiction in a Dreamon Hunter episode, but otherwise seems to live life fairly normally… or as normally as one can on the SMP.

* HideYourGays: Implied. During the ''Tales'' episode "[[FutureImperfect The Lost City of Mizu]]", Ranbob tells the fishermen that Sapnap was said to have had a BedFullOfWomen, despite Sapnap having two male partners, Karl and Quackity. The fact that just like in Sapnap's room, Quackity's room in the lost city also had three beds doesn't help either.

* LaceratingLoveLanguage: Sapnap's idea of showing affection to Squeeks, Tubbo's pet fox, is to punch him (which he considers "petting"), and shoot at him with flame arrows.
* MartialArtsHeadband: He wears one around his head.

* SecondLove: He, along with Karl, are Quackity's [[{{Polyamory}} jointly second]] long-term partners.
* ShrinkingViolet: [[DownplayedTrope Not as severe as most cases]], but Sapnap tends to keep quiet in group discussions and seems a bit nervous about speaking in front of people, often feeling it's not his place to speak.

* FlowersOfFemininity: She wears flowers in her hair.

* IconicItem: Possibly her carrot hairclip, on a meta level. In the former ''Among Us'' mod "Town of Salem"[[labelnote:*]]now revamped as "Town of Polus"[[/labelnote]], a custom carrot hat was added to the game in honour of Tina the content creator, who often correspondingly wore the custom hat when she played rounds with the mod.

* CoolMask: He wears a Captain America mask.
* DrivenToSuicide: PlayedForLaughs. He non-canonically kills himself depending on certain situations, be it danger or embarrassment, one such example being doing so following Sapnap's freestyle ending in a rather… awkward line.

* ColourMotif: Green, just like her brother, and also her favourite colour.

* GodOfChaos: {{Implied|Trope}}, if Tommy referring to her as "God Lady" while speaking to Wilbur is anything to go by.

A mushroom-themed settlement Karl made south of spawn after the events of the ''Tales From the SMP'' episode "The Masquerade". Its formation lead to the disbandment of El Rapids, and all its citizens are former members.

* ActualPacifist: Kinoko Kingdom is the only present-day country that hasn't been involved in major conflicts so far. Even though the place has a military headquarters as of Quackity's November 27th lore stream, and Sapnap is the Head of Military there, they still haven't made use of the building much.

* CallToAgriculture: The purpose of the nation's establishment is to get away from any "drama", as Karl puts it, and the nation itself is located near a flower forest.

* MushroomSamba: According to Sapnap, "shrooms" are grown in Kinoko Kingdom, and when someone consumes them, they "[[{{Hallucinations}} see things that aren't actually there]]", though he later denies that they are using those mushrooms to get high. Bonus points in that Kinoko Kingdom ''is'' named after mushrooms.
* NatureLover: {{Invoked|Trope}}. The one rule of the faction is to not pick flowers, and when one does, they would have to place them back.

* SuperiorSuccessor: Is arguably this to El Rapids, which was dissolved by the founding members of Kinoko because it had become "stagnant" and little work had been done to improve the country after its independence.

* TragicTimeTraveler: He can travel through time, but not only has he no control over when it happens or where/when he goes, but every time it happens his memories deteriorate, which leads into some bad PoorCommunicationKills with one of his fiancees. [[spoiler:To add insult to injury, the god who gave him his powers in the first place implies he'll kill him once his memories deteriorate to the point he can't time travel anymore.]]

* TheChosenOne: Karl was given the ability to time travel by [=DreamXD=] after he [[ExactWords "got rid of"]] the last one when they forgot they were a time traveler. [[ItSucksToBeTheChosenOne Unfortunately, there seem to be more drawbacks then positives to these powers.]]

* IJustWantToHaveFriends: His reason for siding with Schlatt during the Manburg-Pogtopia War was because he wanted to be recognized. This later continues to be a motivation for Karl even throughout his own arc in ''Tales''--the Other Side encouraged him to flee the Inbetween while telling him "For your friends, protect your stories", and in the Season 2 trailer, he says this outright:

* AssociationFallacy: The first person Drista kills after her dog Bruno's death is Tommy, who had nothing to do with it and was just with the group who killed him while Foolish killed Bruno.

* JerkassToOne: Drista is ''incredibly'' mean to Tommy, bullying him every time she logs onto the server. This is exaggerated once her dog is killed by Foolish, where she instead focuses her anger on Tommy and ambushes him with two Netherite swords. Nevertheless, the two are still [[VitriolicBestBuds friends]].
