* NoNonsenseNemesis: In contrast to Jaysun who likes to prolong the destruction of the world for his amusement, Caitiff is pragmatic and undeterred, attempting to go about the most efficent course of action.

* YourSoulIsMine: [[spoiler:During the "Black Winter" War, Caitiff used Doom Weapons to pierce the Hero's fallen allies, which turned them into Doom undead beings and captured their souls. The souls get released once Caitiff is defeated and Valtrith's mask is destroyed.]]

* {{Megalomania}}: He has a very big ego and eats up any flattery given to him.

* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: To Envy/Aspar. While both are evil beings related to weaving and proficient in BlackMagic, the similarities end there.
** Envy was born as an elemental spirit and thus always lacked physical form, in contrast to the usual situation where Weavers become elemental spirits upon death. Roirr is a Fleshweaver, noted to be the only Weaver family to stave off death by {{Body Surf}}ing.

** While both do horrible things via BlackMagic, their crimes are goals are very different. Envy experimented on humans which twisted them into elemental spirit hybrids and desired to kill every human so they would become elemental spirits like him. Roirr's M.O. was to kill by either devour his victim's souls or [[BodySurf steal bodies]], while his endgame was to [[ImmortalitySeeker grant himself true immortality]].

* {{Expy}}: In addition to being a TerminatorImpersonator, there is also a subtle reference to Hal from ''Film/ASpaceOdyssey'' as the Hero says to him "I can't let you do that, Dave."

* FauxAffablyEvil: As much of a thorough bastard he is, he is capable of hiding his true depraved and twisted nature under a polite facade.

* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: He is the very First Weaver and is functionally immortal due to making use of BodySurfing to stay alive. He is at least centuries years old, having outlived all his children.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: He can easily control the heart and minds of those associated to Fire, just as he pleases. Like Veyla.

* GenericDoomsdayVillain: The only reason given as to why Wargoth goes and rampages on Ateala is because he had been suppressed within Warlic for so long. That's pretty much all there is to his motivation.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: A rampaging fire monster threatening to destroy the world bring to mind Xan and Drakonnan, who unironically are both present in the Saga now as reluctant allies to the Hero.

* NighInvulnerable: While it can be knocked out and rendered dormant, there appears to be no way to kill Kathool Atchoo. It reawakens in ''VideoGame/AdventureQuestWorlds'' to face the Hero again.

* {{Recurring Dreams}}: It is able to [[PsychicDreamsForEveryone send the same nightmares to other humans in its underwater domain.]]

* TheAtoner: [[spoiler:After his HeelFaceTurn, he is making efforts to redeem himself, even if the Hero is not convinced.]]

* BrainwashedAndCrazy:
** Through his [[TheGift mastery]] over [[PlayingWithFire Fire]], he manages to control many of the heroes battling for the side of Battleon, including Artix himself.
** [[spoiler:In Book 2, Wargoth uses Konnan's affinity to fire, and unresolved anger issues, to make him fight the Hero once again.]]
* BroughtDownToBadass: Even though he [[spoiler:loses the Fire Orb and is substantially depowered since his time as Drakonnan]], Konnan is still very powerful as both an opponent and [[spoiler:an ally, as he retains his magical powers (but no longer uses them.)]]

* BerserkButton: He apparently dislikes the idea of being associated to Soulsmithing due to his ancestor, Oyva—at least, enough to snap at Roirr for the insinuation.

* PoweredByAForsakenChild: Contact with a fragment of Lore's mana core has made them very powerful, at the cost of burning out their bodies' ability to store mana. To compensate, {{HumanSacrifice|s}} to their artificial "God" the Shapeless are turned into what are essentially batteries for them, to power their magic while away from the core fragment.

* BecomeARealBoy: Pandora was sterile, had lost her husband, and was lonely, so she created a son out of a fragment of her own soul. The result was not human, but a spirit. Because Pandora had created him while she was angry at the world, he grew envious of real humans and even killed a few. His ultimate goal is to become an actual human, and he is currently using [[spoiler:Tomix's stolen lifeforce]] to do so.

* {{Expy}}: An obvious one to [[Main/{{Transformers}} Optimus Prime]], from both his transforming gimmick and his name.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Maleuros, they're the only ones actively helping and siding with the Hero.

The Mysterious Necromantress who is a WildCard who no one is sure where her true allegiance lies. She has antagonized the Hero just as much as she has assisted them.

Noxus's best student, [[spoiler:who grew up in the same village as Artix before a mysterious green mist turned everyone in the village into zombies. Vayle became the Necromantress after Noxus tricked her into thinking it was possible to bring her brother back from the dead. [[EnemyMine She briefly joins The Hero's party to defeat Noxus]], then disappears, taking the Darkness Orb (which she has merged with) with her. Tomix later separates her soul from the Darkness Orb]].

* MyMasterRightOrWrong: She won't say "no" to any order Noxus gives her, even though if it means undoing her own goals in the process.

* AntiVillain: He doesn't want to be a villain, he just prioritizes the safety of his daughter and is willing to go to any means neccessary.

* SandWorm: A colossal version of this able to lay waste to a whole town.

Warlic's apprentice, a [[HalfHumanHybrid half-dragon]] who had her dragon magic locked away after she misused it. She is irritated with Warlic for his slowness to teach her his secrets, [[spoiler:so she kills him and steals his magic. She then brags about her newfound power and starts a war by invoking the wrath of the Elemental Avatars. After Warlic comes BackFromTheDead and gets her out of trouble, she becomes his apprentice again and gets some CharacterDevelopment in a quest chain in which she learns she is destined to save the good Void Dragons (the Creatioux) from the evil Void Dragons (the Decadere)]].

* Determinator: If the Hero hadn't come to her, Voyna would've hunted them down herself.

* AintTooProudToBeg: After the Hero's memory starts corrupting Lock's data, they approach the Hero directly for help with dealing with the matter.

* BlackCloak: Before their individual reveals, the Maleueros, minus Sinnocence, all wore black robes reminiscent of the Mysterious Stranger before them.

An ex-worshipper of Kathool Atchoo and the second Maleurous that the Hero encounters.

The third Maleurous, a sentient teddy bear with a degree of reality-bending powers.

Lock and Key are strange beings the Hero encounters one fateful Lucky Day. They are later revealed to be Maleurous, sharing the fourth position with each other.

* EvilOnlyByAssociation: They're lumped in with the rest of the Maleueros by the Avatars, but have been nothing but amiable towards the Hero.

A hero from the Land of Fables' past. She makes herself known as the fifth Maleuros to make a move after stealing the unhatched egg of the reincarnated Savior dragon.

* BadassCape: Has a pretty cool one hiding beneath her Maleuros cloak.
