* AdaptationalVillainy: In ''Savers'', Yggdrasil only wanted to kill all humans because he's seen what [[MadScientist one human]] can do and [[AntiVillain is justified]], and was also placed in an 'us or them' situation due to said on human that made the decision rather understandable from his point of view. In here? Yggdrasil decides outright to conquer the human world despite humans saving his world multiple times, not to mention the only humans that ''were'' evil were only brainwashed by an evil Digimon.

Trope Misuse.

* BadassBystander: It is regarded as a famed protector in the Digimon franchise, yet has not appeared in the Adventure timeline until the events of Tri. Given how the Digital World came very close to being destroyed or taken over by several evil Digimon, one can wonder where it has been all this time. Of course, Alphamon wasn't even created when the first two seasons were produced.

* ShipTease: She gets a fair bit of it with Taichi during the latter half of the series, Meiko confiding in Taichi specifically during ''Coexistance'', and Taichi being egged on by the [[ShipperOnDeck others]] into calling Meiko during the epilogue. While Taichi is more tense in during the call, Meiko is shown more at ease, even addressing him less formally.

Alphamon is now unambiguously in Yggdrasil's faction. His actions were to further Yggdrasil's goals - and Yggdrasil explicitly removed the 02 children, and Alphamon, his servant, was seen over their bodies.

* AmbiguousSituation: BigBad? KnightTemplar? AntiVillain? AntiHero? BrainwashedAndCrazy? His status as TheVoiceless prevents us from grasping the reasoning for his actions, or even what gender he is. All we really know is that he seems to be after Meicoomon.
** Additionally, most evil Digimon tend to kill from the start. Alphamon is never shown doing this. Every time he's onscreen in ''Reunion'', he uses the minimal effort to throw the Digidestined Digimon aside when they get in his way, certainly knocking them out, but not enough to kill them, despite him easily having the capacity to do so. It's only when Omegamon/Omnimon appears, whom he can't ignore, that he starts fighting seriously. Even with that, he leaves without finishing the fight.
** Further, the scene with him and the 02 quartet is its own vague situation. ''Did'' he actually curbstomp them as the fandom has broadly inferred, or does he have another reason for being there? And if he did, why?
** Revelations in ''Confession'' and ''Loss'' muddles things up even more. Was he going after Meicoomon [[spoiler:to snuff out the source of the infection, or to bring back [[BigBad Yggdrasil's]] TykeBomb]]?
** TheReveal of [[spoiler:Yggdrasil]] as the BigBad muddies the waters even further, [[spoiler:considering that historically, Alphamon has always been in opposition to Yggdrasil's schemes]].

* CurbStompBattle: [[AmbiguousSituation Possibly dishes one out against the 02 cast]] and later definitively does to the '99 Chosen Children ''without even trying''. Alphamon only starts taking the fight seriously when Omegamon is formed, and eventually escapes while Omegamon prepares the Garuru Cannon. And again in ''Coexistence'', when he takes out seven Partner Digimon, six of whom are at Ultimate-level like Alphamon itself, with ''one'' swing of Ouryuken.

Yes it's Word of God / All There In The Manual. The site the chart comes from is literally the official site for Tri - we clicked on eggs to get tri news ages ago. We know Ordinemon is a Fusion and not a Jogress because of that site. The link for the official site on tri's trivia page for Scrappy Mechanic takes you to the site, and you can see that chart by hovering over Character and clicking on Chart. Information on other series' official websites is taken as canon and listed under All There In the Manual, why is information on Tri's official site being doubted and having its canonicty called into question? Also, apocryphal, but someone who saw Tri in theatres claims they're ninety percent sure that the opening text that summarizes previous Tri movies outright says Alphamon was working for Yggdrasil https://withthewill.net/threads/18468-Digimon-Adventure-tri-Part-5-Symbiosis-Discussion/page22?p=324618&viewfull=1#post324618. Less apocryphally, Yamato says Yggdrasil after Alphamon appears in Coexistance.

Unless the chart is considered a case of All There In The Manual or Word Of God and not simply the site makers assuming rather than the writers themselves, the canonicity is dubious at best. And as no distinction was made in the movies themselves, his allegiance is therefore unknown.

Official tri material has Alphamon in the Yggdrasil camp. How is that not him being officially stated to work with Yggdrasil?
