* ChickMagnet: Despite not even trying, he has the most girls to link with. Mostly with Nana, but he's also [[ShipTease teased]] with Sayaka, and later developing links with [[spoiler:Shiima after her HeelFaceTurn]].

* HotBlooded: Can be very passionate about their missions. On the other hand, he have tendency to [[{{Hypocrite}} criticize his teamates when they do the same]]. Hayate even lampshades it.

* TheStoic: Played with. He's prone to goof around with his friends when he's not in duty, but he's generally the most serious about to carry a mission.

* CasanovaWannabe: Many of his focused episodes are about him trying to woo a girl and failing.
* MagmaMan: ''Griffon Magma Galaxy''

* HeroicBSOD: At one point when they lost their power, he thought he got called by Earth Power, despite his friends convincing him otherwise. Turns out they're ''right'', proving that he got a mental breakdown.

The brain of the Earth Defense Force and a sticker to etiquette and manners, pretty much a 'Miss Perfect'. She's a motherly type and like Tsurugi, tends to get involved emotionally in her missions. Usually teams up with Mai.

* [[TheSmartGuy The Smart Girl]]: Is a genius inventor and computer programmer, as well as the team strategist. Not only is she the obvious 'brain', but she keeps her emotions more in check.

* WoundedGazelleGambit: Only appearing once, but she did sucker Mai once with faking a cry.

* DrillSergeantNasty: He's introduced as this, running a training exercise and harassing the recruits in his helicopter while shooting live ammo and GRENADES at them to keep them moving without explaining his goal (which is to push enough people hard enough to awaken the Earth Force). Notably this almost backfires on him badly as him running them ragged with no explaination and justification makes the entire squad including the eventual Changemen quit and are about to storm off as they don't see the point in taking this abuse for no justified reason. It's only lucky that the Gozma attack at that moment and force the issue.

* BizarreAlienBiology: Rigellans have short childhoods and the aura they emit while transition to adult is sought by those seeking to increase their power.

* PlotRelevantAgeUp: In her first appearances, she was a child, once she emits her Rigel Aura, she becomes a teenager and stays that way for the rest of the series.

* BadBoss: Bazoo keeps his subordinates in line by not only threatening them but their home planets, and is perfectly fine with sacrificing them or forcibly mutating them into Space Beasts. Add [[AbusiveParents bad parenting to the list]], since he didn't thought twice about dispose of his adoptive son the moment he discovered Sayaka would Ikarus' intented bride.

* LetsYouAndHimFight: His method of having Giluke and Ahames compete against each other for the right to lead his invasion force. Justified since the two tried to opposed him together when he attacked their planets.

* MotiveDecay: [[spoiler:Giluke starts off the series something of AFatherToHisMen who's only serving Bazoo so his planet can be restored. But after returning from the blackhole Bazoo banished him to, Giluke discards his redeeming qualilties and becomes every bit as bad as Bazoo as he willfully sacrifice his own subordinates and do whatever it takes to conquer Earth.]]

* TheStarscream: In the past he and Ahames plotted to overthrow Bazoo, but their attempt failed. He becomes fiercely loyal to Bazoo after becomes Super Giluke.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He's AFatherToHisMen in his own space pirate crew, loved dearly the female space pirate Jill, his former partner, and also cares for his fellow lieutenant Shiima.

* NobleDemon: Played with. While he is a former space pirate not above to play dirty and officer of a tyrannical galactic army, Booba is one of the most moral and honorable members of the Gozma.
* NoPlaceForMeThere: Somewhat. [[spoiler:After saving Shiima, with no place turn to return and all of his allies dead, Booba opts for a proper death in combat against his old rival Change Dragon.]]

* FallenPrincess: Is actually the princess of the planet Amanga before being forced to serve as one of the Gozma generals.

* AlasPoorVillain: While she was a pretty cruel villain, she has an absolutely tragic final fate, [[spoiler:being forcibly turned into a Space Beast and losing her last grip of sanity after realizing her homeworld is no more before dying in the explosion of the EDF base.]]

* BewareTheSillyOnes: You just ''DON'T WANT'' to threat his family.

* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Even Gator can have some fight on him when necessary. The final episodes post HeelFaceTurn exemplifies that.

* MasterOfDisguise: Continuing in the vein of [[Series/HimitsuSentaiGorenger Peggy]], [[Series/DenjiSentaiDenziman Akira]] and [[Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive Miki]], Mai has a whole episode dedicated to this.

* PlotRelevantAgeUp: In her first appearances, she was a child, once she emits her Rigel Aura, she
becomes a teenager and stays that way for the rest of the series.
