* AllLovingHero: Optimistic and positive, Tanjiro believes that humans and demons alike can choose to do the right thing.

* TheHero: Textbook example. He possesses limitless empathy for friend and foe alike, is a proficient sword user, combined with an iron will to see his sister Nezuko's humanity restored. Once he meets the Hashira and convinces them to let him keep carrying [[TheBerserker Nezuko]] with him, he slowly changes all of them for the better which gives them the strength to come together and take on Muzan in the series' final arc.

* NoListeningSkills: Despite his enhanced hearing, he is hardly a very attentive listener, and when jealous completely stops listening to reason. He insists he has any say, [[{{Hypocrite}} while he refuses to let anyone who attracts girls or he thinks are flirting with someone talk, even telling them they are fantasing when he is told the true version of the story, despite being the one who is overthinking.]] When he saw Nezuko for the first time, he didn't listen to Tanjiro trying to tell him her backstory, instead trying to kill him while thinking she was his girlfriend. When Tengen tasked the trio to help him infiltrate the Red District, he didn't listen to Tengen telling him he sent certain people (his wives) to infiltrate there to hunt a demon, assuming he asked the trio for help to find a bride, despite being already married, even telling him he is fantasing everything when he told part of the real version of his story, much to Tengen's annoyance.

* ChickMagnet: Tanjirou at the very least has the majority of the girls in the Butterfly Manor, Aoi and Kanao especially, interested in him. Mitsuri also expresses fondness and affection towards him (much to Obanai's chagrin), although that can be explained by her friendly nature ("Love Hashira" after all).

* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: An interesting case. Tanjiro is determined to kill the evilest demons even if they lose their fighting spirit, or are trying to flee for their lives. But he is also completely willing to see demons as humans and will fight to protect them if they are really remorseful and will not attack innocent people. He also tends to have a lot of SympathyForTheDevil as soon as the fight is over. On the other hand, towards humans, if Tanjirou had a strict no-kill policy or not to them was not really explored, but most likely he did. One of Tanjirou's main concerns through the final in the Infinity Train was the safety of the guy that critically stabbed him.

* TheUnapologetic: He attacked Zenitsu when he shielded Nezuko. Later, Tanjirou demands that Inosuke apologize to Zenitsu for attacking him, he refuses.
