In the game, Nick helps him out after Kenny falls into despair after failing to save his friends. Within a few days, Kenny insists that he's been prepared for the apocalypse the entire time and that Nick has been stealing his identity. He even goes as far as to give himself the nickname "Kick", make catchphrases for himself, call his weapon (a garbage bag full of knives and other sharp metals) "pure destruction", and that his weapon can "fight an army of ninjas".

Unlike many of the other characters in the game, Ronald stands out as the most cynical, fully embracing the fact they might not make it out of the outbreak alive, which means giving up on hope or salvation. Furthermore, betraying the Illegals and Nick over to Hemlock is all done so he can collect a promised reward, as well as saving his own skin over everyone else's, in other words, an act of desperation.

* AmbiguousDisorder: She seems to be unable to understand the idea of being full, as she will keep eating way past her limit, vomit it up, then eat more. She's also irrationally possessive of the food in the buffet, showing real panic at other survivors approaching the food and killing a man for even trying to take some.

* IconicItem: While you can have Nick use whatever weapon you want in-game, he is most commonly associated with the [[MixAndMatchWeapon Sledge Saw]], as trailers and promotional materials show Nick wielding it.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: She, just like her brother, is the mastermind behind a zombie outbreak, though arguably for a slightly more benevolent reason.

* TheNeedsOfTheMany: She caused the Los Perdidos outbreak to find a cure to the zombie plague. Millions of people are dead, but her actions might save the remaining billions (her personal reasons are much more self-serving, however).
* {{Pride}}: The secondary motivation behind causing the outbreak. She wanted to restore honor to her family name after the shame brought to it by her brother.

* WellIntentionedExtremist: She caused another outbreak and caused the deaths of countless people as well as the essential destruction of an entire city all to help mankind by finding a cure for the zombie plague.

* KarmaHoudini: Dies from a natural cause, that being a heart attack.

* ActionGirl: One of her first scenes has her easily lodging a crowbar into a zombie's head. Even Nick has trouble removing the crowbar afterwards.
* AllAmazonsWantHercules: Rhonda, a tough as nails mechanic and former soldier of the US Navy, was married to Gary Finkel, a professional wrestler.

* ArtificialLimbs: Gets a mechanical flamethrower-arm after losing her original.

* [[ComicBookFantasyCasting Video Game Fantasy Casting]]: Gary closely resembles a (slightly) aged Wrestling/BrutusBeefcake, though he's much more of a DoggedNiceGuy than Beefcake ever was in real life.

* GlassCannon: He has the lowest health out of all the bosses in ''Dead Rising 3'', but makes up for it with his high damage output and the player being stripped of their weaponry before the fight.

* KnightOfCerebus: Albert is regarded as one of the darkest Psychopaths in the series by producer Mike Jones. To wit, his characterization almost completely lacks any comedic, tragic, or goofy elements, he is largely sane unlike many other Psychopaths (thus highlighting his evilness), and his battle involves plenty of psychological horrors.

* PlotIrrelevantVillain: He's encountered in the main story but he ultimately has no bearing on the plot. He found the military supplies and hoped to sell them for a bigger payday. By the time Nick enters the area, Albert simply knocks him out to harvest his organs. Once is Albert is killed, nobody mentions him again

* AtrociasAlias: Kenny calls himself "Kick" in an attempt to lionise himself and be a hero, something Nick immediately points out as Kenny just adopting Nick's name and changing the first letter.

* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: of the {{Chuunibyou}}, Kenny's imitation of Nick is incredibly dangerous in the outbreak since he puts [[EngineeredHeroics a woman in danger to recreate the moment he saved her]]. His emulation of Nick is pretty much identity theft that turns into murder when Kenny tries to kill Nick for being the copycat. By the end of the battle, Kenny is out of breath and can barely stand since he lacks the stamina to actually backup his claims of heroism and badassery.

* IronicName: Dermot means "free of envy" in Celtic languages.
