* ConflictingLoyalty: By "Conclusive Ocean", she has to choose between following Jill and her plans to get revenge on Embryo, or [[spoiler:side with the DRAGON race to free the Norma]]. Upon realizing how far Jill is willing to go to kill Embryo, she decides to help [[spoiler:the [=DRAGONs=] unite with the Norma on the Aurora]] and kill him.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Ange may be an AntiHero, but she draws the line with Jill's orders to the point that she refuses to sacrifice [[spoiler:the [=DRAGONs=]]] as cannon fodder in Jill's plot in "Conclusive Ocean".

** While she didn't say it, she clearly lied to Julio that she wouldn't kill him if he called off the massacre that was happening at Arzenal. (It would have worked for the best anyhow; Julio secretly intended to continue the massacre later on.) The only thing that stopped her from dealing the fatal blow was [[spoiler:Embryo [[YouHaveFailedMe killing him first]]]].

* PrepareToDie: She is ready to kill her brother as payback in "Arzenal Burns", until Embryo intervenes and does the deed.

* RebelliousSpirit: Don't ''ever'' expect Ange to do what she is told. She will [[ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight ignore orders]], question authority, [[TakeAThirdOption take third options]], break out any hostages you've taken, and [[DefiantToTheEnd defy you until the very end]]. In fact, characters who get along with her best, like Tusk, Hilda and Sala, are universally the ones who let her wild nature run riot and accept her "as is". And this is what Embryo seems to be utterly [[EvilCannotComprehendGood incapable of understanding]] in the GrandFinale: [[spoiler:the more he imposes himself onto Ange, the stronger her will to resist him becomes]]. She also reflects on this as a [[spoiler:common thread between all Norma and their ability and willingness to reject Embryo and his will and vision]].

* WeUsedToBeFriends: Her reaction to Hilda when [[spoiler:Hilda confesses to them in "Goodbye From the Gallows" that she just used them]]. [[spoiler:After she joins Embryo, she thinks Hilda and Rosalie abandoned her, though to be fair, they saw her get shot in the head, her rider crashing and exploding on the runway (if not for Embryo's instant healing, she would have died), and went on a subsequent RoaringRampageOfRevenge.]]

* GetAHoldOfYourselfWoman:
** She tells Salamandinay to get a grip because she's the leader of the army when the latter doubts what to do in a frantic situation.
** She later gives one to her hardass boss Jill, of all people, to get her to stop dwelling and face her responsibilities in "[[Recap/CrossAngeEp23DistortedWorld Distorted World]]".

The main protagonist of the series. A former princess of the Misurugi Empire, she was sent to Arzenal after finding out that she was a Norma on the day she was to participate in the politics of the empire on her sixteenth birthday. Pilot of the AW-[=CBX007=] Villkiss although her first deployment had her piloting a stock AW-[=CBR115=] Glaive that was more of a machine for new recruits.

* TheAce: Ange was supposed to inherit the empire instead of her older brother, showed to be "above average in all areas" in training and is also noted to be one of the [[AcePilot best pilots of Arzenal]], as her performance at Arzenal show. She's also noted to be able to pilot Villkiss skillfully and for awhile, also solos dragon squadrons while dodging UnfriendlyFire from teammates who want to kill her for inadvertently killing two recruits and Zola. It also means that she hoards all of the kills, causing others to go into PerpetualPoverty as their income is based on the number and type of dragons the person kills. And as revealed in "Resonating Front Lines", she is also skilled in different types of sports and capable of driving a ''professional race car''.

* AdultFear: After hearing Sylvia screaming on the other side of the line, Ange has a minor HeroicBSOD and spends a lot of time worrying about her during the Festa.

* AlmightyJanitor: She's just a member of Salia's squad. She still kills more dragons than anyone else (though she also indulges in a lot of kill stealing).
* AlmostKiss: She tries to kiss Tusk, but the flying helicopters [[spoiler:getting themselves in a friendly fire thanks to the DRAGON Ange had to tussle with in a malfunctioning Villkiss in the previous episode, influencing them.]]
* AntiHero: Ange starts out as a ClassicalAntihero before becoming a PragmaticHero. She has enormous trust issues from the lies and attempts on her life and what she has needed to do since being sent to Arzenal. Slides back up towards KnightInSourArmor after forging an alliance the dragons. She knows that doing the right thing is fraught with uncertainty, but persists. She never becomes too merciful or idealistic though: she tears the Misurugi Empire residents a new one for demanding her protection by force, and later decides that the chaos in the former Mana World is not her problem and they can adapt or die.

** Ange slaps Tusk to wake him up in "Goodbye From the Gallows".
** She also slaps towards Jill in "Distorted World". That and her RousingSpeech enables Jill to come back and pilot Ersha's Ragna-mail.
* ArentYouGoingToRavishMe: Their second night after arriving in the [=DRAGON=] Earth; Ange, Tusk, and Vivian seek shelter from a snowstorm in an abandoned hotel. Ange and Tusk wind up sharing a room together and to her surprise and frustration, Tusk doesn't try to make a move on her.

* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: On the night before her Baptism, Ange wishes for a challenge. Guess she got more than she bargained for.

** She also has one with Hilda in "Distorted World". [[spoiler:After Hilda confesses her feelings to Ange, she starts angsting about Ange being in a relationship with Tusk and how both of them being women [[{{Gayngst}} makes it weird]], and Ange reassures her by pushing her against the wall and kissing her.]]
* BigSisterInstinct: She will do anything to protect her little sister Sylvia. [[spoiler:It ends up biting her in the ass.]]

* BlasphemousBoast: In "Distorted World", during her RousingSpeech, she says "We can beat anybody, even ''God''."

* BreakTheCutie: While telling that mother of the Norma baby that she should have another child was cruel, what happened afterwards was a bit much. Her only sins were her ignorance of such things and her pride, natural byproducts of her upbringing. With [[TraumaCongaLine the swift and abrupt escalation with little explanation or demonstration]] it's little wonder she was stuck in such a state of denial throughout the first couple episodes, leading to the deaths of three of her comrades.

* BystanderSyndrome: Completely justified in her case. When she is approached by the now mana-less band of citizens in "Distorted World" demanding for help, being a princess, she refuses to oblige, fully remembering how they treated her following her outing as a norma. Their audacious response? They accuse her of the mana disappearing, and one prepares to kill her, only for her to score a BoomHeadshot on him first, [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere scaring the rest away]]. Finally, she scares Sylvia into walking on her own feet before leaving.

* TheCaptain: [[spoiler:Hilda relinquishes command to Ange during the final episodes of ''Cross Ange''.]]

* ConflictingLoyalty: By "Conclusive Ocean", she has to choose between following Jill and her plans to avenge Embryo, or side with the DRAGON race to free the Norma. * CoolBigSis: She was a kind-hearted sister toward Sylvia [[spoiler:until the latter turned on her]]. Later, not only does Ange comfort Vivian when she finds out she's a DRAGON, but seeing as she was initially more friendly to Ange than any other Norma, she also expresses delight when Vivian is reunited with her mother.

* CrucifiedHeroShot: The fixed second opening has Ange in this pose, along with BoundAndGagged.

* DangerousDeserter: Right before combat, Ange attempts to flee back to the Empire with her paramail and Salia threatens to execute her if she doesn't turn around. She ends up getting Zola and her comrades killed because of her attempted desertion.

* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: She attracts blushing worship from her teammates in "The Fallen Imperial Princess", then Coco in the third...and Zola's less-than-welcome attentions. Suffice to say that everyone wants her.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Ange draws the line with Jill's orders to the point that she refuses to sacrifice the dragons in Jill's plot in "Conclusive Ocean".
* ExplainExplainOhCrap: When Sala asks her where did Ange think {{Mana}} came from, Ange starts explaining till she has a sudden revelation that Mana [[spoiler:came from Aura]].
* FallenPrincess: She's the former princess of the Misurugi Empire at the start of the anime, to which "The Fallen Imperial Princess" mentions this trope.

* FirstKiss: She shares her first kiss with Zola and she's not happy about that one.

** She later gives one to Jill of all people to get her to stop dwelling and face her responsibilities in "[[Recap/CrossAngeEp23DistortedWorld Distorted World]]".

* GoldenSuperMode: While it has been shown in the opening, [[spoiler:''Dragon Song'' marks the first time Ange uses it and the trigger is singing her mother's song.]]

* HeroWithBadPublicity: Looks as if Julio had set her up as public enemy number one to run unopposed as emperor.

* HumansAreTheRealMonsters: If you go by the mana-users are the only true humans common belief, then sure, this is what Ange arrives at by "Goodbye From the Gallows".

* {{Yandere}}: Even after learning how Embryo sees her as nothing but a too, Salia is so starved for love that she not only stays with him but vows to kill Ange to prove how much better she is so Embryo will have no choice but to lover her.

* TheStarscream: Subverted. Hilda becomes vice captain after Zola's death and frequently challenges Salia's authority though it's more to get under her skin than any real ambition. Then, in "God's Soul-Searching," she leads a mutiny against an increasingly unstable Jill who appoints her to command after she steps down.

* TheStarscream: Challenges Salia's authority and wants to replace her as captain of the squad and does so by the time "The Right Arm's Past". Then, Salia's defection leads to Hilda assuming Jill's command by the time of "God's Soul-Searching".

* UsedToBeASweetKid: Even as a little girl, despite her high status, Ange cared deeply about other people (or mana users at least). A flashback during episode 6 showed that when they were kids, Momoka accidentally broke one of Ange's dolls and Ange was more upset that Momoka was injured and hadn't treated her cut, even ripping her dress to make a makeshift bandage and saying that both the doll and the dress could be replaced but Momoka couldn't.

* BraidsOfAction: Downplayed. She is the least action-focused member of a team of {{Action Girl}}s and is protected by others, usually Rosalie.

* LoveableAlphaBitch: She hates Ange, possibly for reminding her of how she herself used to be while at Arzenal, and spends just about every waking moment trying to torment her, even sabotaging her vehicle before a fight. But then it's revealed she was mostly acting the part so she could survive, and her only wish is to escape so she can finally reunite with her mother. After that ended in heartbreak and being returned to Arzenal, she becomes one of Ange's strongest allies.

* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: All the scars she got from Sylvia whipping her? They're gone by the next episode.

* BerserkerRage: She has gone into one on two occasions when killing dragons.

Chris is of Zola's former lovers before she died. She wants to avenge the death of her beloved captain by attempting to kill Ange. Pilot of the AW-[=ZZR520=] Hauser Chris Custom.

* AwfulTruth: One that is kept from kept from almost everyone, [[LockedOutOfTheLoop herself included]]: she's part of the race she's been brought up to believe is less than human, and as a result, is sent to a PenalColony to be used as CannonFodder against interdimensional dragons.
* BackToBackBadasses: With Momoka in episodes 9 and 10.

* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: All the scars she got from Sylvia whipping her? Gone by the next episode.

* BiTheWay: DoubleSubverted. She's initially shipped in the show with Tusk and resists any attempts by the other Norma women to seduce her. To drive the point home, in the montage of important characters and moments played in the finale' credits, both instances were highlighted.]]

* TheBigDamnKiss: With Tusk in, appropriately enough, "Ange and Tusk", where they pick up from their earlier AlmostKiss after Tusk confesses his feelings for her. They likely would have gone all the way if [[spoiler:they weren't {{interrupted|Intimacy}} by Salamandinay's soldiers]].
** She also has one with [[spoiler:Hilda in "Distorted World". After Hilda confesses her feelings to Ange, she starts angsting about Ange being in a relationship with Tusk and how both of them being women [[{{Gayngst}} makes it weird]], and Ange reassures her by pushing her against the wall and kissing her.]]

* CartwrightCurse: Zig-zagged a bit. Her mother died protecting her in "The Fallen Imperial Princess". Then in her disastrous first deployment, she got her captain and two of her comrades killed. On at least a couple occasions since, her teammates joked that anyone who gets close to her dies. Defied afterwards so far in that there have been no subsequent casualties with her around; she saw to it. She constantly lampshades this trope in the previews.

* CharacterWitness: Has one in Momoka, who has been devoted to her ever since she treated one of her wounds when they were children.

* DefectorFromDecadence: Not at first, and she had already been disinherited, but when she has the chance to re-integrate, twice, the first being when her brother makes a sheepish plea bargain, she has already seen the evils of her former society, and refuses it.
* DefiantCaptive: To Embryo, to the point where she breaks his mind control. [[spoiler:Played more straight in "God's Soul-Searching" where Ange manages to break out of her MindRape, telling Embryo to suck it. Embryo just responds with, well more brainwashing.]]

* DispenseWithThePleasantries: No Misty, Ange doesn't want to hear all that small talk praising that you are doing.
* TheDogBitesBack: Several instances occur throughout the series.

* ForcefulKiss: Was on the receive end from Zola, and gave one to Rosalie. However, this is because she's forcefully feeding the spiked laxative water that Rosalie switched out to her water bottle.

* TheGoldenRule: A firm believer in this. Treat her badly, and she will inflict her wrath, or in the case of the [[DirtyCoward masses in the finale of "Distorted World"]], leave you to your fate.

* GoodIsNotSoft: Jill accuses her of going soft when she refuses to follow her vicious methods in "Conclusive Ocean". Ange proves her dead wrong with a knockout.

* HadToComeToPrisonToBeACrook: Before prison: well-composed, dignified princess. After: asocial, pragmatic, willing and needing to do anything to survive. Just ask Misty.

* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Momoka.
* HiddenWeapons: [[spoiler:Kills Embryo with two knives from underneath her dress. Too bad DeathIsCheap for Embryo.]]

* HumblePie: Forced to come to terms with being a Norma in the first few episodes. Unlike other examples of the trope, it also coincides with her hardening as a character due to the circumstances.

* MaddenIntoMisanthropy: Ange's gone from optimistic, friendly princess to a cynical and insouciant survivor. And it's not even for a lack of trying in her hometown; she tried the diplomatic approach with Akiho when sneaking back to the mainland, only for the latter to snitch on her. After nearly getting executed for being a Norma, she really lets her former people have it for their savagery, and later leaves them to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere fend for themselves]] when Embryo [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness severs the mana network]] and begins the world's destruction when they still act hostile towards her after demanding her protection, even though they disowned her in the first place.
** Averted in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV''. By the time things go to hell with her, she's already interacted with so many non-Mana user humans that her MisanthropeSupreme personality never comes to light. She still will never forgive or forget everything the Mana users did to her, but knows that there's no point in continuing her discrimination now that the distinction between them and Norma have disappeared.

* MistakenForMurderer: Sylvia mistakes Ange for killing their parents and Julio. Sylvia realizes the truth after Liza's WhamLine towards the end of the series.
* {{Misblamed}}: In-universe. While it's true technically she had been killing dragons earlier as implicated when she was in their home dimension, she did so mainly because that was her only way of earning her livelihood as a norma. It also applies to the rest of the norma, who were attacked in "Dragon Song" during the dragon siege, when the real target should have been the Column of Dawn.
* MiseryPoker: With Hilda while in confinement over who had it the worst over their failed reunions.
* MsFanservice: The biggest providers of these in the series but definitely not the only one.

* NiceToTheWaiter: To Momoka, who she has valued as a close friend since childhood.

* NotInThisForYourRevolution: Refuses to be part of Jill's Libertas, instead preferring to find where the truth lies for herself, and not be used as an UnwittingPawn. [[spoiler:The script is soon flipped. It is revealed Jill is more intent on killing Embryo than freeing the Norma.]]

* PinPullingTeeth: Does this in both episodes 9 and 10. Her teeth really must be so strong to pull those.

** Does it again to the same people in the finale of "Distorted World" [[DirtyCoward when they demand she save them]]. As well as Sylvia when she reveals Sylvia had been healed by the doctor all along, but was unable to stand on her own two feet.

* RedOniBlueOni: Played straight with her being the Blue to Hilda's Red, and the Red to Jill's Blue. [[spoiler:When she meets Sala however, she's the red towards Sala's blue. This is played around with; while Ange is wearing blue, Sala is wearing red. Where Villkiss's eyes and the beam that she fired in her GoldenSuperMode are red, Sala's Para-mail's eyes and the beam that she fired are blue.]]

** During the finale of "Beyond Time", Ange screams "Burn in hell!" [[spoiler:as she begins to obliterate Hysterica for good]].

* SympathyForTheDevil: Seems to bear a degree of pity for Julio in spite of everything he did.

* ThatManIsDead: Or in her case, "That Princess is Dead." Ange tells Momoka that she would prefer to be referred to as "Ange" rather than her real name "Angelise". Momoka still calls her by her real name regardless.

* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: Tells Jill to "Drop dead, you evil bitch!" after [[spoiler:Jill enumerates the things [[IronicEcho Ange said at the bath]].]]

* TomboyPrincess: Tomboy former princess, but the trope was in play here in "The Fallen Imperial Princess".

* TrueCompanions: Hard to believe now that she used to have a close circle of friends whose friendship she valued over winning. How circumstances change things indeed. [[spoiler:Just look at "Goodbye From the Gallows" and ask her about her "friends" and her "bonds".]] In reality, the only thing that has changed is her level of trust. Anyone who does prove themselves is definitely one of these to her, and she will do anything for them. Use or betray her, and you might as well be dead to her.

* TurnTheOtherCheek: Forgives Liza for being part of Julio's schemes to kill her, and evidently, the dragon invasion.

* TheWorfEffect: Suffers this trope from Sala outside her Ragna when the latter dropkicks her. Then she suffers this trope again in "Dark Angel of Destruction" [[spoiler:just to highlight the new Ragna-mails piloted by Salia, Chris, and Ersha.]]

** Delivers one towards Salia on why she went to her RoaringRampageOfRevenge in "Arzenal Burns":

* YouShallNotPass: Holds off Embryo's three knights in order to allow Sala and the rest of the dragons to escape through the singularity after they find themselves led into a trap.

* TheCaptain: Takes this position after Zola's death. However, she's still a newbie as she can't get initially her subordinates to cooperate with each other. [[spoiler:Becomes later the (Knight) leader of Embryo's Ragna-mail squad.]]

* ClosetGeek: Keeps her secret hobbies secret and threatens anyone who might expose her.

* CovertPervert: Keeps a PornStash, but can be homicidal if someone else takes a look at it.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: Ends up siding with Embryo due to Jill's disregard for her, which Embryo promptly capitalized on. Getting knocked into the sea by Ange didn't help matters, eather.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Makes an attempt on Ange's life for the crime of [[SheKnowsTooMuch accidentally walking in on]] [[ClosetGeek one of her cosplay sessions]].

* EleventhHourSuperpower: [[spoiler:Activates the Ariel-Mode of Cleopatra in the final battle.]]

* GoodIsNotNice: Tries to be stern, but fair.

* GreenEyedMonster: Is a bit envious of Ange receiving the privilege of riding Villkiss. Gets past this after failing to master it, and witnessing Ange activate its GoldenSuperMode. She remains bitter over losing her spot as Jill's favorite to her and Ange not appreciating it to the point where she enforces Ange to toe the line as ordered by Jill.

* IrrationalHatred: Blames the lack of team unity in "Salia's Gloom" on Ange, even though much of it is on Hilda, Chris and Rosalie trying to shoot down the latter in UnfriendlyFire.

* KnifeNut: Always brings out her knife as her WeaponOfChoice on foot. Probably a result of her imitation of Jill who owns a collection of knives.

* WellDoneSonGuy: Has this relationship with Jill. Her desire to pilot Villkiss stems from Jill's [[ThePromise promise to let her pilot Villkiss]] and her vow to avenge her childhood's hero. Unfortunately for Salia, her attempts to pilot Villkiss doesn't work out.

* YouAreNumberSix: Is assigned a number (Norma #2186-32) after she was captured as a baby.

* DoesNotLikeMen: Was initially antagonistic towards Tusk as a result of the trauma she's endured at the hands of Mana-users (all of whom were men) as well as seeing him as a rival for Ange's affections. She also clashes with the various male characters of ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'' when the ''Cross Ange'' cast crosses paths with the rest of the roster--possibly as a reaction to Chris and Rosalie falling head-over-heels for [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Athrun]]. In both titles, she eventually mellows out enough that she can work with them.

* FieryRedhead: Very hotheaded indeed.

* {{Foil}}: To Vivian. She started out as Ange's bully, while Vivian was the first to befriend her. Both were separated from their mothers from a young age. Her mother disowned her and had a replacement Hilda, Vivian's mother missed her and was happy to meet her again.

* TheWorfEffect: Has had her Para-mail taken out of commission on at least one occasion. Justified, as it's a GlassCannon.

* BetaBitch: Has always had this kind of dynamic regardless of who she's following, though she's become progressively less malicious.

* BuxomIsBetter: Has the second largest bust after Ersha as well as the largest relative to body size.

* TheResenter: What she tells both Hilda and Rosalie on [[spoiler:why she's sided with Embryo was because she's always left out between the three of them.]]

* ShrinkingViolet: Noted to be shy and reserved. {{Deconstructed|Trope}} when it turns out that [[spoiler:she has a lot of issues that she can't spit out for fear of retaliation until she goes to Embryo where she finally gets it off her chest.]]
* ShyBlueHairedGirl: Has elements of this.

* MostCommonSuperpower: Has the second largest rack after Ersha as well as the largest relative to body size.

* ButNotTooGay: In ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'', she and Rosalie have absolute crushes on [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeed Athrun]]. [[ChickMagnet Not that it's any surprise to anyone]].

* MotiveRant: A rare anti-heroic example. In episode 7's climax, Hilda admits she never loved Zola and forced herself to befriend two people she couldn't stand, and did everything she could so she could survive, even if it meant screwing over Ange since Ange had a habit of kill stealing (and thus money-draining) from her teammates, including Hilda. She caps it off by declaring she ''will'' see her mom again, and it's enough to convince Ange to rescue her from falling off their ship.
* LingerieScene: After [[spoiler:Ange found out who is the one behind Villkiss's sabotage]], Hilda is shown wearing pink underwear. Has another one in the Aurora when tries goading some info out of Tusk about whether he and Ange had sex.

* AlphaBitch: She hates Ange, possibly for reminding her of how she herself used to be while at Arzenal, and spends just about every waking moment trying to torment her, even sabotaging her vehicle before a fight. But then it's revealed she was mostly acting the part so she could survive, and her only wish is to escape so she can finally reunite with her mother. She keeps the Alpha but drops the Bitch.

* HerHeartWillGoOn: She still longs for Zola but knows she won't be coming back. However, she still tries to avenge her in her own way. [[spoiler:Subverted as of "Bikini Escape". Hilda reveals that she let herself become Zola's plaything because she would do anything to escape. She still did admit however that she did love Zola before tossing Zola's cybernetic eye.]]

* HateSink: Zola Axberg is one of the captains for the First Allies but turns out to be a horrible SerialRapist of the highest order. She first appears molesting Hilda by groping her, commenting that Ange will be her prey. Later in the episode, she [[AttemptedRape attempts to rape Ange]], slapping out her eyeball. Later in the story, several characters state that [[QuestionableConsent they were pretending to be in love with her]] so they can escape Arzenal. When one of the [=DRAGONs=] eats her, [[AssholeVictim no one mourns for her]].

* UsedToBeASweetKid: Even as a little girl, despite her high status, Ange cared deeply about other people (or mana users at least). A flashback during episode 6 showed that when they were kids, Momoka accidentally broke one of Ange's dolls and Ange was more upset that Momoka was injured and hadn't treated her cut, saying that the doll could be replaced but Momoka couldn't.

* BadassGay: A lesbian and one of the best pilots in her squad, [[ButNotTooGay although she does seem to have some mild interest in Tusk]].

* BiTheWay: She has several female lovers, but also [[spoiler:offers to take Tusk's virginity, regardless if she only does so to secure Tusk's cooperation in her planned rescue of Ange. The second intro also shows her coyly flirting with him]].

* DoesNotLikeMen: Initially demonstrated this in ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'' once the ''Cross Ange'' cast crossed paths with the rest of the roster--possibly as a reaction to Chris and Rosalie falling head-over-heels for [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED Athrun]]. She mellows out enough that she can work with the male members of the roster, though.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Of the Diamond Rose Knights. Has the most selfless reason for joining, and is the first to find how badly she has been used by Embryo, and is incredibly upset over it.

* ButNotTooGay: In ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsV'', she and Chris become obsessed with [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeed Athrun]]. Since he's a ChickMagnet, this comes as no surprise to anyone.
* ButtMonkey: She gets the crap kicked out of her when she tries to bully Ange in "Lonely Mutiny". She gets her uniform damaged by Ange, is beaten up while in the canteen, uses the restroom when Ange puts her laxative back in her mouth, and Ersha beats the crap out of her and Chris.

* MauveShirt: Zola dies exactly one episode after being introduced, and serves as the basis of motivation of her posse's grudge against Ange.

* AssholeVictim: With her attempting to do PrisonRape on Ange and is seemingly a SerialRapist, when she gets killed there's no sympathy for her at all, even with her being AMotherToHerMen.

** In addition, when Embryo attacks the DRAGONs and their village, Ange, knowing Vivian is at her home with her mother, flies to her young friend's rescue. The two may not be related, but Ange cares for her well-being a great deal.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Before [[spoiler:her OneWingedAngel reveal]], Vivian could feel that there was something wrong with the situation by smelling and the fact that she feels all tingly when the crew encounters the encounters the "virgin DRAGON" in "Salia's Gloom". At the end of "Dragon Song", during Jill and Maggy's discussion about [[spoiler:Arzenal's plant was destroyed,]] Vivian's face is up close hinting something about her. There's also the fact that Vivian thinks that Ange's song is beautiful in a different way. The only ones who have the same reaction as her are [[spoiler:the [=DRAGONs=] in "Dragon Song".]]

* PurpleIsPowerful: Subverted. She was the then-captain of the First Troop and wore a purple rider suit, but ends up as SacrificialLamb.
