The younger sister of Prince Sparkling Wing, the Alicorn god of Peace, Leadership, and Unity. Rising Sun was born out of a need to secure a successor for her kingdom's throne - Sparkling Wing was the original heir, but because the line of succession was completely matrilineal, Queen Silver Clock faced enormous pressure to give birth to a daughter, and eventually did so despite having high hopes for her son. While Sparkling Wing was saddened that his subjects were quick to dismiss him as a royal because he was born with the wrong sex, he doesn't blame his mother or his sister, and still loves them both like family.\\\

Rising Sun would grow up and succeed her mother, and during her reign, she would develop racism towards non-Pony entities and monsters, something that would make her butt heads with Sparkling Wing. Notably, tensions were rising between her kingdom and its Griffon neighbors, and yet despite her and her brother's diplomacy, the Griffon leaders refused to consider peaceful options due to rising hostilities and political sabotage, leaving Rising Sun no choice but to go to war and put the "disgusting interlopers" in their place. It would be the last time Sparkling Wing would see his sister, as a few days before, he got into an argument with her while trying to make her reconsider waging war, only for Rising Sun to die in battle.\\\

However, Rising Sun did leave behind an heir: Her daughter, Obsidian Star, who would inherit the throne shortly after her mother's death. Despite this devastating loss, Sparkling Wing would serve as a part-time adviser to his niece after she became Queen, until he was assured that she could rule successfully on her own.

* MagicKnight: Much like [[WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil Queen Solaria]], she was both an experienced warrior and a skilled magician in life.
* SanitySlippage: A combination of factors like rising political tensions, mounting frustrations with the hardheaded and incorrigible Griffons who antagonized her kingdom, and political sabotage drove her to wage war with the Griffons. It was during her battles that her preexisting FantasticRacism worsened, something that alienated her diplomatic brother, Sparkling Wing. Her refusal to see reason eventually led to her death.
* TheUnfavourite: According to Sparkling Wing, she secretly felt inadequate compared to him because she had to live with the knowledge that her older brother, who was cast aside by their people for being born a colt, got to become a [[DeityOfHumanOrigin god]] while she lived a mortal Queen.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Much like her character inspiration, she believed that going to war with non-Pony entities, such as the Griffons, was the only option of survival since her and her brother's attempts at diplomacy with the Griffon leaders didn't work. Sparkling Wing tried talking her down, only to fail when she still went through with her decision to wage war with her Griffon neighbors, and died in battle a few days later.
* TheWrongfulHeirToTheThrone: She was considered to be the rightful heir of Queen Silver Clock by virtue of being female and the line of succession being completely matrilineal. Ironically, she turned out to be this as she eventually became a racist warmonger during her reign, which led to her death. Sparkling Wing, who was rejected for being of the wrong sex, proved himself worthy of the throne by Ascending to godhood and becoming a god of Peace, Unity, Leadership, and Weather -- things that are actually desirable in a good King.

* ForWantOfANail: Had Queen Silver Clock not given in to pressure to have a daughter, she wouldn't have existed at all. Lampshaded by Mistletoe Dreamer herself and decides to find out if the Fourth Age would be more fun for her, and resurrects or releases equally as depraved villains from across history.

Shogun Tensenshi, Lord of Tensenshi Castle (His entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Unicornia-Heroes-and-Villains-1-859020613 here]]) is a eccentric overlord from Neighpon who was known for a bizarre love for building great castles and fortresses filled with traps and monsters and daring heroes and adventurers to brave their depths, while broadcasting it magically for his and the world's amusement. More flamboyant and fun-loving in his villainy than actually evil, he is a quintessential example of a 'Third Age' villain who poised a challenge to many heroes during the innocent and compassionate age and ensured it never become too stale and stagnant. With his return in the Fourth Age, the world can look forward to new attempts to brave his maze of obstacles and confront the overlord in the name of heroism or glory.

* StartOfDarkness: For a value of 'Darkness'. Tensenshi is the heir of a Neighponese Daimyo who was absolutely bored with the extremely tranquil and peaceful existence of his homeland, but was forbidden from spicing up his life with parties and pranks, discovered that he was lousy as an adventurer, and passed the time building models and watching relic recordings of game-shows which survived from the Second Age. Then the Empire of Crypta invaded Neighpon during one of their attempts at world conquest, disrupting the peace and filling his life with excitement for a brief moment, and when he saw the heroes and armies of Neighpon besieging the Cryptan stronghold established at their beachhead and found himself enthused imagining himself in the role of the Cryptan lord/royal holding the fort against the invaders, he discovered his calling in life and never looked back.

Immolation by white phosphorous are extremely horrific and agonizing, and those few who survive are often left horrifically scarred and poisoned by its toxicity.

* WastelandWarlord: White Phosphorous is a warlord whose wasteland army terrorized the part of Marerope where Burning Brave, the future Courageous Knight of Embers lives in the very early Third Age, mere decades after the official end of the Second Age. Defeating him and his forces was the first thing Burning Brave did as a hero.

* TheAce: A genius architect, brilliant mechanic and master enchanter, many of his works are so well designed and engineered that many of them remain unrivalled in the Fourth Age.

** Mistletoe Dreamer, the evilest being in the Third Age, once rigged one of his castle's booby-traps to become legitimately dangerous and lethal such that it nearly caused actual casualties, all for the sake of wanting to see an actual gory 'wipeout' for once. Tensenshi responded by luring and then trapping her inside one of his castles, the interior of which is a ridiculously complex magical maze filled to the brim with genuine death traps, incredibly dangerous monsters and other unspoken horrors and menaces. It took Mistletoe Dreamer ''fifty years'' to find her way out of it - the fact that she got out of it at all was considered nothing short of miraculous - and [[NothingIsScarier whatever]] she [[YouDoNotWantToKnow experienced]] inside [[HorrifyingTheHorror caused her]] to [[LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain never bother Shogun Tensenshi again]], not even in revenge.

Of course, owing to her AffablyEvil NobleDemon disposition as a Third Age 'Hobby Villain' [[EvenEvilHasStandards she did not intend]] to [[WouldntHurtAChild nor actually do them any harm]], allowing the children to enjoy the spectacle and even playing fun games with them and her subordinates to pass the time while the heroes struggles to reach and rescue them.
* AffablyEvil: Emphasis on 'Affably', as she's mostly playing SuperVillain as a hobby to allieviate her boredom.
* AntagonisticOffspring: Has two in the form of her daughters Abra-Ca-Dabra and Pumpkin Tart, who became heroic witches and moved to Third Age Ponyland to face her. She's ''[[SoProudOfYou very]]'' [[SoProudOfYou proud of them]] for doing so, especially whenever they manage to defeat her.
* BackFromTheDead: With many of her villainous rivals returning to life and activity in the Fourth Age, many speculate it is only a matter of time before she herself do the same. * BalefulPolymorph: A specialty of hers even in her vast talent for all kinds of witchcraft, capable of transforming others harmlessly into other creatures or transform herself into more powerful beings and monsters.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: She became an EvilOverlord (Or rather 'Evil Overlady') for fun, but make no mistake, she is an incredibly powerful and dangerous witch queen whom you do not to get on her bad side. She kept all of her villainous witches in her kingdom in line out of fear of her unbridled wrath, and when she got serious she can inflict a CurbstompBattle on most of her opponents due to her sheer skills, knowledge and power as a witch. She can even take on the likes of rivals like Sekra and Vondur and hold her own.
** To note, she conquered the entirety of Ponyland with her villainous witches as quite literally the first thing she did as a SuperVillain and [[EvilOverlord Evil Overlady]].
* BrokenAce: Her sheer power as a witch and talent as a leader left her with absolutely no challenge, and thus miserable. It isn't until she becomes a supervillain she is happy with her life.
* CameBackStrong: [[spoiler:Having ascended to an Alicorn godling of witchcraft and returned to life in the Fourth Age, she is now capable of posing a threat to even ''Princess Twilight/Amicitia'', the Alicorn princess of Magic and Friendship herself, and [[OneManArmy held her own]] against not only Amicitia but an entire army consisting of both Amicitia and the heroes/demigod inhabitants of Ponyville during the Nightmare Night [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/891883225/4950421398 she returned]] to have fun (in her typical 'contractual supervillainess' ways).]]
* ChallengeSeeker: Hocus-Pocus's entire reason for becoming a supervillain in the first place: Walpurga held absolutely nothing that could meaningfully challenge her, as all its villains were too weak to stand a chance against her and she was a competent, good ruler able to manage it fairly easily. So she became a supervillain order to find something capable of actually challenging her.
* ContractualGenreBlindness: Abides to this like many Third Age villains. She justifies this by saying if she was to become a SuperVillain, she should go all the way in it, up to and including the plot-mandated genre-blindness. This gives heroes a chance to defeat her as she is FAR more dangerous when she gets serious, and the fact that it still takes monumental effort and skill to succeed shows just [[TheAce how mighty and dangerous she is as a witch queen]].
* CurbstompBattle: Her sheer power, knowledge and skills as a prodigy witch queen meant many if not most fights against threats and opponents becomes this. This led to her becoming so bored with her life and reign that she becomes a SuperVillain just to have fun challenging and have a real challenge against her in turn, whereupon she proves herself one of the most dangerous villainous threats to the world (for a value of 'villainy') precisely for the same reason, requiring monumental effort by heroic forces to challenge and defeat her.
** Implied with her and Walpurga's first conflict with Ponyland, as it's mentioned that despite all the heroes and magic there she managed to conquer the whole place in relatively short order.
* EatenAlive: While not the defining part of her forte, owing to some villainous Witches being known to eat people, and Giants, Dragons and other giant creatures and monsters whom she likes to transform into being known to devour those smaller than they are, she [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/859020613/4942194977 felt obliged]] to do the same as a 'Contractual Supervillain' whenever the opportunity presents themselves, sparing not even her children from being swallowed by her. Of course, like Eclaira, she keeps those she devoured alive and safe in her innards and does not make it impossible for them to break out. She also do this to punish genuinely evil witches who does that to innocents in genuinely vile ways, so to 'give them a taste of their own medicine' for their crimes. Given her incredible power and skill, she had done this to whole lands like Eclaira did, eating Ponyland and Unicornia the first time she does so as a Giant before they broke out and restored everything, and getting into an eating competition with Eclaira one time which saw them both consuming several kingdoms.
* EvilOverlord: Classified as an 'Evil Overlady' and classifies herself as much.
* GoodParents: She dotes on her daughters Abra-Ca-Dabra and Pumpkin Tart, and when they decide to move to Ponyland and [[AntagonisticOffspring oppose her as heroic witches]] she gave them her full blessings, even rewarding them for defeating her and visiting them at Halloween to have fun together.
* GracefulLoser: She never took her defeats personally, as being a supervillain was something she did to find things actually capable of challenging her, so the chance of losing is exactly what she ''wants''.

* IRegretNothing: How Hocus-Pocus views her defeats, as win or lose she is having the time of her life.
* NoChallengeEqualsNoSatisfaction: Her villainy is entirely motivated by this problem, since she is so talented, powerful and skilled as a witch queen she faces virtually no challenges, and thus is bored out of her skull.
* NobleDemon: Officially she's a 'Lawful Evil' witch queen seeking to TakeOverTheWorld alongside other villainous factions, but is like many Third Age villains doing it less for malice and more for fun, challenge or honourable goals, and keeps her more villainous witches in line from going too far even as they work their villainous plans.
* OneManArmy: One MARE/WITCH army, on account of being an ungodly powerful and skilled witch queen who could literally one-shot whole armies of witches by herself, leaving her so bored with her life that she eventually turned to (AffablyEvil NobleDemon) supervillainy just to find a worthwhile challenge in the heroes of the Third Age.
* PhysicalGod: Hocus-Pocus' power and skill as a witch queen is so great, she could match with heroic deities with her magic and could legit be considered one were it not for her mortality. * EvilGenius: An accomplished DiabolicalMastermind and psychopath extraordinaire who despite remaining mortal and widely opposed by Third Age heroes [[EvenEvilHasStandards and villains alike]] had managed to pose a major threat to even the noble gods of the time. She is also an accomplished necromancer and later witch through self-study and proper tuition under other evil beings such as Grand Matron Hydia.
* ForTheEvulz: With a complete lack of an identifiable StartOfDarkness and DarkAndTroubledPast, her entire motivation is essentially this. When ask why she does anything, her answer is invariably something along the lines of this:

* LegionOfDoom: Forms one called the Dark Ages Alliance by resurrecting or freeing villains from across all four Ages of known history.
* MultipleChoicePast: She apparently gives multiple, mutually contridictory origin stories, and no one knows her real one.

* DoomedHometown: Invoked this on Burning Brave's home settlement, forcing her and her family and neighbours to flee.
* MeaningfulName: White Phosphorous is a VERY volatile and dangerous compound used by military forces, officially to serve as flares but often as an incendiary weapon of remarkable proficiency, capable of burning through metal and stone as well as flesh and bone. Immolation by white phosphorous are extremely horrific and agonizing, and those few who survive are often left horrifically scarred and poisoned by its toxicity.
* MoreDakka: White Phosphorous' power stems from a large store of Second Age firearms which they had been able to scavenge. Burning Brave destroying much of their irreplacable store was crucial in his and his army's defeat.
* TankGoodness: White Phosphorous brought out a scavenged and re-cobbled Second Age Main Battle Tank against Burning Brave in the climax of their confrontation. It didn't help him in the end, since she's wearing an advanced mantle of military-grade PoweredArmor.
* WastelandWarlord: White Phosphorous is a warlord whose wasteland army terrorized the part of Marerope where Burning Brave, the future Courageous Knight of Embers lives in the very early Third Age, mere decades after the official end of the Second Age. Defeating him and his forces was the first thing Burning Brave did as a hero.
