* VillainousBSOD: Sekra is said to have wept for the first time in uncounted millennia upon hearing just how far her empire had fallen since the end of the Third Age. * VillainForgotToLevelGrind: Downplayed. Sekra was not foolish enough to think after narrowly beating the Council of Friendship the first time that they might not level-grind for the rematch and had also trained and prepared with that expectation. What she did NOT anticipate was just how far and fast they were able to catch up to her, which impressed her to no end when true to her concerns they were able to narrowly defeat her in their second confrontation.

* SillyReasonForWar: An ongoing feud/conflict rages between a Tomb King of Crypta with a Diamond Dog Underhold in Diamondia over an anvil inlet with a coin stolen from Crypta, since the Cryptans absolutely will not allow any of their treasures to leave their lands, while that particular Underhold had a stingy and grudgebearing culture to rival the old Duradin and absolutely will not allow their crafts to be taken by the unworthy. Since the feud/conflict started the anvil had changed sides countless times as their forces had raided and battled each other over it. Even in-universe some like Prince Forging Scales considers this as silly as it sounds.

* TryToFitThatOnABusinessCard: Cryptan culture places a lot of emphasis on glorious deeds, and they record them in various titles which grows in length as they accumulate, a practice known collectively as the "Lists of Glories". Among the Tomb Kings/Queens especially, these lists could grow very elaborate and are divided into further categories. "Naming Glory" are single titles which closely associate with the individual’s identity, known as much as their name and among the earliest granted. Adding onto that are "List of Prized Glories", which concerns the most crowning deeds and accomplishments, and the "List of All Glories" is basically all the Lists combined plus declarations of other things like bloodlines and famous ancestors (and presumably their deeds). It's considered a mark of achievement, maturity and notability if a Tomb King/Queen's "List of Prized Glories" alone takes more than a hour to recite. This is SeriousBusiness enough for the Cryptans that Tomb Kings/Queens will even pause battles to read them out to their foes if they were audacious/stupid enough to call them out on who they think they are - and to their detriment forced to spend hours hearing all of it.

* HundredPercentAdorationRating: The High Queen of Crypta is almost universally beloved by the Cryptans. Sekra the Indomitable's return was met with nothing less than unadulterated jubilation by every Cryptan in the plaza gathered to greet her when she revealed herself to them a week after her resurrection.

* TheDeterminator: She is well-known for being virtually impossible to break psychologically, possessing an indomitable willpower like Overmare does. * DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: On the even of the New Crypta Conquests, Sekra took on the force of nature that is the Eternal Sandstorm, which turned out to have a will of its own, and managed to not only defy its wrath with her power and will, but actually tame it, sending it reeling with her might and authority, then getting its alliegance through sheer force of personality, reminding it of Crypta's past greatness which it, being made from the land, was once part of and promising to restore Crypta and make it even greater if it calms down and let Crypta's armies pass through. It accepts the offer, and as part of the bond and compact between them, lend some of its power for Sekra to use, adding parts of itself remolded by Sekra's power as resplendently-designed enchanted glass to her armour and regalia.

* NeverSmileAtACrocodile: The Petsebeks are a species of crocodiles divinely-modified by the Cryptan pantheon crocodile-headed god Sebek as part of an aborted uplift project. They are distinguished by their larger sizes and greater intelligence, haughty but regal personalities, bejewelled appearances (due to some of their scales being made of crystals) and a pair of horns growing on their heads. Said horns allow them to channel solar energies/magic their bodies absorb into a beam of concentrated sunlight which could blow up bunkers and incinerate whole ranks of soldiers in one sweeping blast. Their status as divinely-modified animals made them a status and religious symbols, while the magical properties of their bodies (from the durability of their scales to the luck-warding and fertility-inducing properties of their flesh) made their body parts highly-valued commodities. During the New Crypta Conquests and likely before in the Third Age, the Cryptans tamed many of them to serve as living weapons against those opposing their conquests, at least until they got more of their long-unused magical weapons and constructs back up and running.

* PyramidPower: Given the Egyptian and Mesopotamian inspirations of the franchises the setting and characters of Crypta are based on, pyramids pop up a lot, whether actual bonafide pyramids or pyramid-like structures like ziggurats who were their predecessors.
First introduced in a Drabble, Arken-Yer was born from the fusion between Sekra the Indomitable and Daring Do, the embodiment of all the parts of their souls which had become one. Being the balance between them, Arken-Yer would serve the role as mediator between the two indomitable characters, and later become one of Crypta's ambassadors with the rest of the world.
----
* Ambadassador: Arken-Yer, possessing Daring's knowledge, Sekra's wisdom and perfect understanding between the two, managed to do the unthinkable and mediate the two incorrigible, conflicting characters into a truce, and would later help negotiate the end of the New Crypta Conquests on behalf of Crypta.
* BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil: Maintains this between the Daring Do and Sekra and prevent either from overcoming the other.
* ColdHam: Balanced between Daring Do's low-key inconspicuousness and Sekra's larger-than-life flair, Arken-Yer comes off as dramatic despite her balanced, more neutral and grounded character.
* TheHeart: Arken-Yer is responsible for keeping the peace between Daring Do and Sekra as much as possible, which is fairly impressive considering Daring Do's stubborness and Sekra's pride.
* MentalFusion: She is born from all the parts of Sekra and Daring Do's mind and soul which are similar enough to fuse together into one, becoming the balance between the two in the process.
* MindHive: Shares the same body with Daring Do and Sekra after awakening from their MentalFusion.

* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: Nobody in Crypta likes him, but he is still kept and even rewarded for his service because as a hunter and warden of Crypta's most despicable enemies, he's REALLY good at his job.
* EvilerThanThou: Many of his targets and victims were horrible entities and reprehensible beings themselves. It's a testament to Ahew's depravity when his sadism made him even more terrifying and worse than they are.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: On the side of the Tomb Kings/Queens of Crypta, but that's only because he's very good at his job as hunter, warden and punisher of the Tomb Kings' worst enemies. After all, he was a SoftSpokenSadist SerialKiller who even the Tomb Kings found appalling.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: He was originally an orphaned Anubian of no notability and poor magical skills. Now he's one of the most dreaded undead Cryptans to ever walk Equus.
* HorrifyingTheHorror: Back when he was the warden of a vault of sealed evil beings and artifacts in the magical academy he was in, many of the inmates were quite evil and horrible and made no attempt to hide it. When he gave into his sadism and started torturing them, even they became horrified by him.
* Sadist: Going with his inspiration, this was his defining character trait, desiring to inflict ColdBloodedTorture and feeling or caring for little else. It was always with him, though he only stopped suppressing it and start reveling in it after he got a job as warden of a vault full of imprisoned evil objects and beings where he eventually allowed it to go out of control.
* SealedEvilInACan: When his atrocities were found out and he was defeated by Tomb King Jusesh the Black, he was sentenced to one of the gravest punishments of Old Crypta - the Burial of the Black Sands - whereupon he was mummified alive in black bandages and had his soul bound to his body, then locked away with his own chains to spend his death and undeath in a black sandstone sarcophagus which was sealed away inside the very vault he used to guard alongside all the other horrors. While his suffering is undeniably horrific, he absolutely deserved it, and this actually made him stronger when he busted out at the end of the Third Age/beginning of the Fourth Age as an wraith-like undead horror.
* TheSociopath: Noted to have numbed to non-existent feelings beyond sadistic cruelty, though he actually has enough emotions to feel ashamed of it and try to keep it suppressed until he could no longer keep it in.
* StartOfDarkness: He was a poor skilled but dedicated student in one of Crypta's magical academies who struggled with his lack of social skills and has an inner sadism which he had difficulty suppressing. Then he got himself a job as the lonely warden of an isolated vault of sealed evils, objects and villains, whereupon his self-restraint crumbled when he found that he could vent his sadism with no one being the wiser. This result in him indulging in increasingly depraved cruelty on his inmates (Involving acts that horrified even them), which grew out of control when he got his claws on a new Sun Cat WickedWitch inmate who could not die thanks to dark magic. By the time he was bored with her and reduced her to a broken EmptyShell from his ColdBloodedTorture, his craving for more victims to play with resulted in classmates, teachers and guards disappearing until his atrocities were found out by an investigating Tomb King, who defeated him and sentenced him to a terrible punishment that saw him mummified alive and locked away in his own vault with his soul bound to his corpse. By the time he busted out, he became an accursed, wraith-like undead monster who would had gone on a rampage were he not stopped by Tomb King Necraaiqed, who managed to get him falling in line by making him the hunter and warden of the Tomb Kings' worst enemies in exchange for a pardon and free game to punish those he captured however he likes.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Among the the Tomb Kings/Queens of Crypta - who while antagonistic and villainous with their empire-restoring imperialistic ambitions are not necessarily Evil - Ahew stands out for being depraved and diabolical even by modern standards, and especially by Third Age standards. Because of this, he was kept a SealedEvilInACan for much of the Third Age and only began making his mark in the Fourth.
* TortureTechnician: Thanks to being a sadistic SerialKiller, he's noted to be incredibly creative when it comes to inflicting pain and suffering for his sadistic pleasure. To note, he even figured out how to torture inanimate sapient objects.
* WardensAreEvil: As Evil as one can get. Though in his case he is quite literally an undead heartless monster.

* CaptainErsatz: An Anubian version of Thresh from 'League of Legends', from his powers down to his sadism.

!!!Character: Neutral
!!!Alignment: Lawful Neutral
!!!Type: Tomb Scorpion, Divine Pet, Ancient Monster, Undead
!!!Faction: Old/New Crypta

----
* BigCreepyCrawlies: At baseline he is already big as a dragon, and since becoming Sekra's divine creature he got as one of his powers an ability to size-shift to Kaiju size.
* ItCanThink: It is also somewhat intelligent thanks to being a divine animal and surprisingly cunning. In fact, [[spoiler:it was Merew who set off the chain of events leading to his master's Sekra's resurrection, getting the SoleSurvivor of a Thracean tomb-raiding group he just slaughtered to spread word of the 'Crown of the Crimson Sun' artifact, knowing full well that Villains and Heroes alike would try and get it, and Tomb King Necraaiqed would make sure at least one of them would eventually make it to the Crown and don it, allowing for Sekra to possess their bodies to return]].
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: During the New Cryptan Conquests he got into a battle with People's Regent Zamrŭznal of the Cloven Empire, with support from troops of Cryptan Bone Giants and Clovenist Giants respectively. Details remain scarce, only that their confrontation was 'epic and terrifying' in equal measures, and though Merew eventually lost, he still managed to decimate his Giant troops and grievously wound People's Regent Zamrŭznal so much that he would be out of commission for much of the conflict.
* PoisonIsCorrosive: His stinger could produce a deadly toxin which he could inject with a sting or spray like a hose, potent enough that it could melt through flesh and is said to be able to burn 'like Wild Fire'. And since he's a Divine Animal, it is strong and enchanted enough to harm even Gods. To note, while People's Regent Zamrŭznal of the Cloven Empire managed to defeat him, it was this that would put him out of commission for much of the 'New Crypta Conquests'.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: Like the other Cryptan Undead, Merew cannot be permanently killed, and any death outside black sands of Crypta would only see him magically reappear and restored within the lands shrouded the Eternal Sandstorm.
* Kaiju: Capable of size-shifting to the size of Dracozilla Jr thanks to being a Divine Creature, much wider at the base if not as tall.
* UndyingLoyalty: Literally, as the physical death of his master and the disaster that fell Crypta at the end of the Third Age also turned him into an Undead creature. Since they were young they were practically inseparable, with Merew fiercely protective of Sekra, serving as her mount in battle and weapon against her enemies, always obeying her orders without question. He spent much of the Fourth Age angry and bitter at the loss of his master, guarding the borders of Crypta and venting his rage at intruders. Suffice to say, he was practically overwhelmed with joy when his master finally returns. The feelings of loyalty are mutual as Sekra loves him as her faithful companion and practically raised him.
