A sleek silver knight beautiful doll who happens to be Pepper’s rival. He’s graceful, calm, serves as Toyland’s princess. At the stroke of midnight, she emerges from the music clock on the wall and professional–everything sings a magical song that awakens all the toys. She’s loved by all her subjects, most notably Sir Pepper, who desperately wishes to marry her. One night, she’s mysteriously captured by an evil stranger, leading Pepper isn’t, and manages his crew to best him at everything. Ginger is also after the heart of Princess Chelsea, and competes with the golden knight for her love. After she is kidnapped, he and Pepper set off to and rescue her. * BlushSticker: Has some blushy cheeks indeed.
* DamselInDistress: Chelsea’s this to a T!
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: A blonde princess who is very gentle and kind.
* HappilyMarried: Chelsea and Pepper finally tie the knot in the Hard Mode ending of ''Clockwork Knight 2'', with all of Toyland spectating the ceremony.
* HiddenDepths: While not shown in the game because of how little time we get with her, her character entry in Japanese materials mentions that she can be more stubborn than her appearance would suggest, and that she dislikes people who are late.
* LoveInterest: She’s the object of desire of both Pepper and Ginger.
* TrueBlueFemininity: Wears a frilly blue dress, one that happens to be the reason why Ginger likes her so much.
* UnknownRival: The RelationshipChart in ''Clockwork Knight 2''’s Japanese manual has an arrow going from Soltia to Chelsea, with “Rival” written over it. The arrow from Chelsea to Soltia? “Good friend.”

* CoolHelmet: Wears a helmet reminiscent of ones the ancient Romans wore.
* CoolSword: He wields a key-shaped sword identical to Pepper’s except for its blue coloration. It also has a much greater reach and can wind up things faster.
* GagNose: Not to the extent of Pepper and his family, but there’s no denying how pointy Ginger’s schnoz is.
* GracefulLoser: In ''2''’s Hard Mode ending, there’s an extra scene where Pepper and Chelsea are getting married. Ginger (who was also after this goal before the whole brother-sister reveal) is pretty chill about it, and sweetly surprises the couple with a bouquet of flowers.
* KnightInShiningArmor: Definitely qualified to call himself one if he ever wanted to.
* MrViceGuy: While he can be a bit of a showoff and is into Chelsea for pretty shallow reasons[[note]]Specifically, the reason he's into Chelsea in the first place is because of the dress she's wearing.[[/note]], he’s by no means a bad guy. He works well with his rival Pepper, praises his skills for finding him through the secret level exits, and even leaves health keys in the boss rooms afterwards.
* TheRival: He serves as one to Pepper, as the two are both after the princess’ love, though he’s fairly amicable when working with Pepper all things considered.
* RedOniBlueOni: Being a cool and collected knight, he’s the blue to Pepper’s red. Like Pepper, his sword happens to be colored according to this temperament scheme (that being blue).
* SecretCharacter: A secret code[[note]]On the mode select screen, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, L, R, L, R. A chime will play once completed![[/note]]enables Ginger to be used in ''Pepperouchau no Fukubukuro'' and the US release of ''Clockwork Knight 2''.
* SurpriseIncest: While the two never really had a serious relationship going on, in the ending to ''Clockwork Knight 2'', Garluch reveals that Ginger and Chelsea are brother and sister, much to the silver knight’s shock.
* WindUpKey: Has a special golden butterfly-styled key on his back. The ending of ''Clockwork Knight 2'' reveals it can break the dark power keeping Chelsea asleep.

* GagNose: Pepper has a long hexagonal nose, a trait he shares with the rest of his family. An [[https://shmuplations.com/clockwork/ official interview]] claims the shape was chosen as it wouldn't roll off the table while he was being constructed.

* WindUpKey: Naturally, being a clockwork toy, Pepper has one of these on his back. It seems to function as his life force, as Prunchau is seen winding it up in one cutscene in Clockwork Knight 2 (with Pepper sitting unmoving until he's done), and in stages with water as a hazard, characters will comment that if it gets wet and rusts, it’ll be lights out for him.

Wrote Tongara de Pepperouchau's entry.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tongara_9.png]]
Sir Tongara de Pepperouchau III, often referred to only as Pepper, is the main protagonist of the series. A brave and good-natured knight with a [[TheKlutz clumsy streak]], he serves (and has a massive crush on) the beautiful [[LoveInterest Princess Chelsea]], desperately longing for her adoration. After the princess is mysteriously kidnapped one night, Pepper leads the charge on a mission to rescue his beloved, along with his friends and rival Ginger.
----
* CoolSword: Pepper carries around a key-shaped sword which serves as his primary offensive method. It can also wind up things and can even grab items.
* TheKlutz: Definitely not the most graceful knight around. Indeed, a few cinemas and promo arts show him losing his balance or falling, and his jumping and falling animations have him flailing his arms around in the air.
* KnightInShiningArmor: A rather klutzy one at that.
* LastNameBasis: He’s sometimes referred to only as Pepperouchau, shortened to "Pepper" in western versions. In the case of the former, it’s likely due to it standing out compared to “Tongara”, and for the latter, the shortening makes for a name that’s much more familiar and easier to pronounce.
* NiceGuy: Despite often sporting an angry or serious expression, Pepper is a reasonably kind person. He dearly loves his friends and Chelsea, and always sets out to do right.
* NoPronunciationGuide: You’d be forgiven for thinking his last name is pronounced “Pepper-oh-chow”, but going by the katakana reading, it’s pronounced “Pepper-ooh-cho.”
* RedOniBlueOni: Pepper is the red to Ginger’s blue, as he's much more rash and zealous than his level-headed rival. Funnily enough, the crossguard and pommel of his sword happen to be colored red.
