David. A.K.A blackheart

to:

David. A.K.A blackheartblackheart. The BigBad of the original series and the catalyst of the most confusing plot twist ever seen in a web game.

* EvilFormerFriend: He was a loyal companion of Jake until he murdered his parents.
* PlotHole: Jake was clearly a child when his parents were murdered, yet David (who is revealed to be blackheart) is in the army with him and presumably not much older than he is. Either this is a major retcon, or time is ignored at will in the clear vision universe. Though it's possible Jake and his father share the same name, and the person followed throughout the fourth game was actually Jake's father, meaning didn't die instantly after being shot in the head by David, instead perishing in hospital due to his bullet wounds. While this would fit the timeframe of Jake's father shooting nazis, it also makes no sense that the military somehow became al-maya, as shown by the infamous execution scene, which David is the real mastermind of.

to:

* BigBad: He's general blackheart, apparently.

* EvilFormerFriend: He was a loyal companion of Jake until he murdered his parents.
parents or murdered him in front of his son, depending on which Jake you think was the protagonist of the game.
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: He apparently became evil incarnate after being goaded into executing some prisoners, despite this colliding with canon.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: If these events are canon, David waited almost 70 years to get his comeuppance.
* MindScrew: TheEndingChangesEverything and creates a time paradox in the clear vision universe that would take the greatest geniuses in the world to properly decipher.

While this would fit the timeframe of Jake's father shooting nazis, it also makes no sense that the military somehow became al-maya, as shown by the infamous execution scene, which David is the real mastermind of.of. Never mind that al-maya was implied to be founded in the mid 2000s and the events of the fourth game are implied to have happened in the early 1940s. David is either almost a century old, or the entire fucking plot makes no sense in the slightest.
* {{Retcon}}: The only explanation that would make this twist make any sense is if this canon overrode what had already been established.
* StartOfDarkness: Shooting the hostages, who are implied to be al-maya's defector captives. Even though this would have happened decades after he murdered Jake's parents.

Added DiffLines:

* WritersCannotDoMath: As shown in PlotHole, time is thrown out the window, with events either happening too far apart or overlapping in a way that makes no sense in the slightest. Though, Jake could just be the biggest UnreliableNarrator in the universe.

* HistoryRepeats: They're not the first people to be assassinated in that building.
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: All three of them are killed during a celebration commerorating their "heroic" actions and the fact they lived to tell their tales. Jake abruptly cuts these festivities short with a few bullets as his "party gift."
