* {{Mysterious Past}}: [[spoiler:Just about anything regarding Grandis is difficult to determine, especially his actual personality in contrast to the author considering the subtle hints that implies Grandis and the author are not exactly the same as one might think, and that the differences in characterization shown through Grandis are meant to be Grandis showing his true self as much as possible, but ultimately getting subdued by the author's greater authority. Add on to the fact Grandis is allegedly omniscient, he might actually speak the truth when he claims he knows everything because his {{Time Abyss}} nature may have allowed him to have {{Seen It All}}.]]

Added DiffLines:

* {{Puppet King}}: [[spoiler:His role as the King of the Ultimorian Deities amounts to this because Ultima is technically the leader already, they just don't want the title in case somebody is looking for the leader of the Ultimorian Deities who can actually succeed in giving Ultima hell; Grandis can take punishment from just about anyone, so putting him as the role of the King makes it easier for adversaries of the Ultimorian Deities to be dealt with without Ultima having to do the hard work. Grandis apparently is semi-aware of this... [[ExploitedTrope but he knows he can equally boss around Ultima regardless]] [[LoopholeAbuse considering as Ultima themselves put it,]] [[HoistByHisOwnPetard "follow every command, request, and desire]] [[DidntThinkThisThrough of Grandis as the King of the Ultimorian Deities."]]]]
** [[spoiler:As detailed under {{Mysterious Past}}, it's subtly implied that the Grandis we know isn't who he actually truly is; he seems to show signs of being a separate entity from his {{Author Avatar}} incarnation, and his more noteworthy differences between himself and the author are perhaps his actual self trying to force themselves to the surface, but ultimately being subdued mentally by the author's control.]]

Added DiffLines:

* {{Spotlight Stealing Squad}}: Invoked to be this when compared to the other Ultimorian Deities; considering Grandis functions entirely differently from the other 12, Grandis can have much, much greater wiggle room when it comes to major roles than the others ever possibly could, and thus it's more justified as to why Grandis has more appearances than his fellow deities.

* {{Abusive Parents}}: [[spoiler:Well kind of from {{Alcohol Induced Idiocy}}, but his first meeting with Chronicler in person does not go well, as in, he physically beats down Chronicler without holding back without making it clear that he was just testing Chronicler's Phase forms.]]

* {{Ascended Meme}}: He's referred to as an edgelord by some players because of how he dresses and looks.

to:

* {{Ascended Meme}}: He's referred to as an edgelord by some players because of how he dresses and looks.looks, and the fact he tends to be viewed as all talk and no power considering he's first introduced as being Level 60, which is well below the cap of SAO.

* {{Deconstructed Character Archetype}}: Of {{Marty Stu}}s. Chronicler's abilities are justified due to his AI origin, Chronicler's not even trying to attract multiple women so much as [[RealityEnsues they're just naturally attracted to youthful men]], and Chronicler's a complete dork when it comes to trying to be romantic with Suguha. Not only that, but he's also one of the few times the author chooses to ship a canon character with an OC such as Chronicler, and not because he wanted to ship Chronicler with Suguha; he just wanted Suguha to drop the {{Incest Is Relative}} plotline entirely from her canon self, so that she has no romantic attraction to Kazuto here.

* {{Irony}}: Often doesn't get enough to eat even by the beginning half of the second arc. First class he takes at Suguha's school upon his choice? Cooking.
* {{Keet}}: He's cute for an otherwise {{Bishonen}} character, as the girls at Suguha's private school are take a liking to him because of his boyish qualities to him.
* {{Likes Older Women}}: Inverted; older women at Suguha's school are attracted to Chronicler because of how youthful he looks as an 18 year old.

* {{Real Men Cook}}: Though not initially, Chronicler does learn how to begin cooking once he begins attending Suguha's private school. He develops a {{Trademark Favorite Food}} in the form of Coq au vin.

to:

* {{Shown Their Work}}: Both Meta-wise and also regarding Chronicler's abilities being justified in-universe. Much of the game SAO in the fic is based on the MMO called ''{{VideoGame/Mabinogi}}'', which uses a lot of crucial system similarities to it, as well as some from other [=MMOs=]. Before Chronicler's introduction, fights are described as being relatively simplistic, akin to the ''{{VideoGame/Tera}}'' MMO or maybe even ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft''. Chronicler demonstrates a much wider range of control over his abilities, and his transformation states in ''Mabinogi'' demonstrate his more broken abilities easily.
** The dish Chronicler cooks beginning with the second arc, coq au vin, is not only [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coq_au_vin a real dish]], but is also a dish that can be cooked in ''Mabinogi'' made using the same basic recipe as its real-life counterpart. Meanwhile, in real-life and in-game, it does use wine in making it, but in the story and in real-life, Chronicler cooks it with non-alcoholic wine. Not only that, when Chronicler cooks in preparation for a dinner for Kazuto and Asuna's wedding, Keiko notes that it's a French originating dish and is [[{{Foreshadowing}} semi-surprised]] to see it there.
* {{Super Mode}}: Chronicler's Phase 3 and Phase 4 forms differ from most Ultimorian Deities; Phase 3 either uses the Demideity form by itself, or the Paladin armored form by itself. Phase 4 uses both forms in unison. As a result of this, Phase 3 Chronicler is repressed in power by 75%, instead of the usual 50%. Due to this, Phase 4 Chronicler has him running at 150% power; this is half more than most Phase 4 forms, which normally only use 100% of the user's full power. Chronicler shares this trait with Eidolon in this regard.

* {{Deja Vu}}: Two instances of his car getting wrecked while on break at work apparently had the exact same old man responsible for it despite being months apart from each other.
* {{Donut Mess with a Cop}}: He describes two separate times where he wrecked his car while getting donuts to eat at work.

* {{Funny Background Event}}: Surprises Martin with dinner from McDonalds without having realized he just showed up after a very rough play session on Martin's end.
* {{Good Parents}}: Proves to be this with how mundane he punishes his son for during his finishing up Hemlock Path and beginning to play the Marsh; doesn't overdo his punishment for his son for not taking his meds on time, which he does go more in-depth about in the solo commentary that this is actually relatively normal behavior for him to do is to lie about his meds every once in a while.
* {{Growing Up Sucks}}: He mentions how he has noticed both of his sons, not just the one doing the Let's Play with him, have grown up from being relatively innocent children with a sibling rivalry, to both of them becoming social recluses who ended up ditching their rivalry as they got older because the older son only really had his brother to talk to.
** He also describes his own brother who stayed living with his parents and unlike himself and his other brother, this particular brother never got married and continued to live with his parents to this very day.

to:

* {{Shout Out}}: Named his son Martin after Martin Riggs from ''Lethal Weapon''. Apparently Martin had mixed feelings to learning of this until we see Martin himself having accepted this part in his life once Martin on his own time watched ''Lethal Weapon'' for the first time.
* {{The Stoic}}: Doesn't emote very much in comparison to his son. When he does it's always {{OOC Is Serious Business}}.

* {{Crazy Enough To Work}}: While Martin initially believes the game is too old to have a use of it, Martin, while being charged by a bear, fires a warning shot into the air which causes the bear to run away from him as a direct result. Martin is baffled but at the same time is grateful because the game is showing something realistic for once to him.

* {{Funny Background Event}}: Shouts to his dad from across the room while doing chores during the dad's solo play of the first areas of the Marsh, as well as calling his dad's finishing of [[ThatOneLevel Hemlock Path]] without dying completely bullshit.

* {{Named After Somebody Famous}}: Named after the character Martin Riggs from ''Film/LethalWeapon''.
* {{No Good Deed Goes Unpunished}}: Helps his dad catch up to him at the Marsh by playing through his file through the last bits of the Forest, but ultimately ends up not taking his medication for the next 24 hours in the process and ends up having to take a break and sleep until 2 in the afternoon the next day. The dad has him do chores and such before continuing the game, but Martin's commentary can still be heard from across the room.

* {{The Slow Walk}}: Does this at a few times in Hemlock Path and other zones with carnivores in them because of the fact he wants to get through without alerting the dangerous animals of his presence as he sometimes has to get near them to get through a specific part of the map.

to:

* {{Why Did It Have To Be Snakes}}: Bears in general unnerve him when hunting them; the mere indication of having to confront a bear scares him more than any carnivore in the game.

* {{Always Second Best}}: Tends to be average in gameplay when compared to his son.
* {{The Everyman}}: Described as being a relatively ordinary adult on the surface by his son, and he definitely acts the part based off of his commentary and play sessions. He's polite, he's efficient, and he has a plane to bag every animal he needs.
* {{Police Are Useless}}: Sometimes mentions this; goes more in-depth about it in solo sessions while he's waiting on a game animal to show up.

!Chronicler[[spoiler:/Damion Eriksen]]
!! Debut: [[spoiler:''Truth and Ideals'']]
!! Voice Actor: Sarah Natochenny

The lead protagonist of ''Citadel of the Heart'', '''Chronicler''' is a mysterious, human-like entity who doesn't seem to have a proper understanding of the real world. Mainly because, well, he did not originate from the real world. Originally born in virtual reality, Chronicler grew up an isolated, sheltered life until a confrontation with Mirror M forced him out into the open against his prior knowledge, and the event severely traumatized him ever since. Spending the next three months back in virtual reality, Chronicler has attempted to make friends with people on SAO, but he keeps noticing an odd trend whenever he does; often times his friends will "disappear", and never come back, even if they're genuine when they promise they will come back. Chronicler thinks that when someone disappears, they die and are never going to come back; Chronicler cannot process in his mind that they simply log off. After striking a friendship with Kirigaya Suguha, he ends up developing a crush on her due to her pretty appearance, but is too quick with his selflessness to give her valuable early game items. Suguha, determined to be Chronicler's friend after hearing him out, ends up disappearing while Chronicler falls asleep at a lighthouse the two spent some time at together.

A genetically engineered super-soldier based off of the found DNA of an alleged "Mythical Warrior" from Ultimorian legend. Many claim that because the Ultimorian Deities did not exist as a faction until the creation of Grandis, and thus the formation of the Big Three, many claim that Mirror M's ancient ancestor is the first true analog to Grandis himself, and even if it isn't, the DNA shown from Mirror M's battle prowess does not disappoint either way. Having a virtually unbeatable win record among the other Ultimorian Deities, Mirror M was designed as the ultimate result of Project Carthage, in which he was genetically engineered with inhuman only a single percentage of the DNA from his mysterious ancient form.

The Creator Deity of the Ultimorian Multiverse, '''Ultima''' is the first ever Ultimorian Deity as the lore dictates them to be; the youngest son of the {{Top God}}, Invictus Ultrarius, Ultima's closest possible analog would be Zeus... but the comparisons end with the fact Ultima and Zeus are both gods who were born to their pantheon's respective version of Titans. Ultima is a very strict, self-righteous individual who always forces their own beliefs and ideals down everyone's throats in the modern day, and they rarely show up in-person anymore unless it's for the sole reason to spite someone who attempted to be powerful but failed. Typically, however, anybody who has successfully managed to shut up Ultima in an argument earns the respect of the Ultimorian Deity, as it takes absolute courage to stand up to Ultima at all.

[[spoiler:Ultima was not always in this particular form, though; they were once was an ordinary, human-like entity with pale, blue skin and navy blue hair, and striking red eyes. They appeared to be an undead humanoid with very elf-like ears, but nobody really seemed to take notice of this factor of Ultima's appearance. Originally a {{Silent Protagonist}} of an AU based off of ''VideoGame/FantasyLife'', at the end of the original story based off of the fic, Ultima ascends to their Ultimorian Deity form and the Creator Deity of the Ultimorian Deities is reborn into the modern Greater Multiverse.]]

* {{Badass Armfold}}: Introduced making one in a {{Shout Out}} to Omegamon's debut in ''Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth''.
* {{Bara}}: Ultima's a giant, hulking humanoid with wings. They're not a slender fellow like [=LordKnightmon=] is in the slightest.
* {{Camp Gay}}: Speaks in an incredibly {{Badass Baritone}} type of voice despite this, indicating Ultima being more of the {{Bara}} type of guy.
* {{Deconstructed Character Archetype}}: Of {{God Mode Sue}}s. Considering Ultima is a legitimate Creator Deity, and the nature in which Ultimorians behave with the {{Royals Who Actually Do Something}} card, it would be completely {{Out Of Character}} for Ultima to not get involved in certain situations to perform a {{Deus Ex Machina}}. In addition, Ultima does not like the idea of taking suggestions to restrain themselves from a mortal of all people, so any mortal who even remotely tries to tell them to do so will be greeted with the exact opposite in the form of Ultima's wrath. So not only would it be {{Out Of Character}} for Ultima not to showcase their immense power, but any mortal who tried to tell them not to will only be greeted by an incredibly angered Creator Deity.
* {{The Maker}}: The Creator of the Ultimorian Multiverse. It definitely shows with not just their power, [[{{Pride}} but also their attitude.]]
* {{Pride}}: Their {{Fatal Flaw}}; Ultima is a self-righteous prick who wants to be worshiped by everyone and views everyone remotely in the same role as them in deity hierarchy to be inferior to them. {{Its All About Me}}, {{Glory Hound}}, and {{Spotlight Stealing Squad}} don't even begin to summarize the type of attention Ultima wants all for themselves.
* {{Pronoun Trouble}}: Normally not an issue; Ultima doesn't give a damn what pronouns you refer to them as, but usually its the other Ultimorian Deities who tend to panic considering Ultima's a very {{Rated M For Manly}} type of camp.
* {{Shout Out}}: They're voiced by a {{Drag Queen}}, and are a {{Creator Deity}}. [[Anime/PokemonArceusAndTheJewelOfLife Sound familiar?]]
* {{Voice Of The Legion}}: Due to [[DragQueen the choice in voice actor]] for Ultima, their voice is completely unable to be determined between a male or female voice if not even both at once.

!! UD-02: DRAGORA GALAXIA
!!! Debut: ''Digimon Re: Adventure''
!!! Voice Actor: Barbara Goodson

A vicious, remorseless Ultimorian Deity who is known as the "Destroyer of Many Galaxies", '''Dragora Galaxia''' is the unconquerable king of the destructive forces in Ultimoria, and is so vast that even the depths of space cannot slay him with their primal forces alone. Dragora Galaxia, the Black Void Entity, is essentially a living black hole contained in place by a mysterious gem called an "Ultima Gem", and takes the form of a very tall, very shiny and radiant humanoid dragon. However, madness takes many forms; this is not Dragora Galaxia's true form, and anybody who remotely attempts to find out what his true form is will be atomized on the spot for succeeding. Cunning and violent all the same, Dragora Galaxia is never to be made a fool, and should always be taken deathly seriously... [[VerbalTic yesss...]]

* {{Badass Boast}}: "Thy name is Dragora, for we are many."
* {{Deconstructed Character Archetype}}: To {{Villain Sue}}s. In fact, Dragora's examples as to why are basically identical to Ultima's for a good reason; not only [[spoiler:are both of them technically siblings due to Dragora being a reincarnation of Ultima's elder brother Kagubot,]] but also the fact Dragora's power is something even he himself has incredible difficulty restraining. As a result, Dragora's sheer prominence as a villain can basically be summed up as the {{Balance Between Good And Evil}} in a sense; Ultima's power is vast, true, but it lacks a proper counterbalance much of the time. As a result, Dragora Galaxia was created to serve as a counterbalance to a {{Creator Deity}} tier character. As a result, almost everywhere Ultima goes, Dragora is somewhere else causing havoc on his own accord, and because of Dragora's shared sense of {{Pride}}, the idea of Dragora being a {{Conflict Killer}} isn't just inevitable; it's guaranteed, lest you force Dragora to be {{Out Of Character}} as a result of not filling his job.
* {{Evil Sounds Deep}}: Much less prone to being understood with his speech when compared to Ultima in this regard.
* {{I Am Legion}}: [[CatchPhrase "Thy name is Dragora, for we are many."]]
* {{Real Men Wear Pink}}: Is colored magenta all over his physical form, unless that body part is pitch black.
* {{Shout Out}}: "Yesss..."
** Hell really it's just Barbara Goodson using her Mother Talzin voice and doing a ''Beast Wars'' Megatron impersonation at the same time.
** His infamous "Aftershock" move is based off of galaxy busting tier version of Tabuu's Off Waves, complete with using the wings for it and usually only for this attack alone. Hell Dragora's wings are a {{Shout Out}} to Tabuu any day.
* {{Shown Their Work}}: Because his black portions of his body are a self-contained void that consumes everything around it, shading is impossible on Dragora's body because he's so immensely dark in coloration on his natural "skin" that light simply gets absorbed into it and never reflects off of him.
* {{Verbal Tic}}: [[WesternAnimation/BeastWars Yesss...]]
* {{Voice Of The Legion}}: Dragora sounds like the bastard fusion of Mother Talzin and ''Beast Wars'' Megatron.

!! UD-03: GRANDIS
!!! Debut: ''Sword Art Online: Special Edition''
!!! Voice Actor: [[AuthorAvatar Martin W. Mollohan]]

'''Grandis'''. The leader of the bunch, who thinks everyone knows him well (at least to be fair, they should). He's noted as being the leader as dictated by Ultima and Dragora Galaxia, because whomever is the King of the Ultimorian Deities is the only known individual who can actually best Ultima and Dragora Galaxia in a fight, and never anyone else unless Grandis either gives up the throne, or somebody takes it from him by force. Grandis is known as "The Enforcer" as to why he's an Ultimorian Deity at all; his job is to intervene in situations in which one or more Ultimorian forces are at odds at each other should they pose too big of a threat for the universe. Originally, this job was to simply mock him, as until the recent era of {{The Multiverse}}, the Ultimorians were unable to leave their own native multiverse, but now that everyone is scattered across space and time, his role has an actual meaning again.

[[spoiler:On the surface, he appears to be using the name of the author himself; '''Martin W. Mollohan''', but this appears to be because Grandis, despite his usual impressions he gives, is often seen as a {{Puppet King}} in more ways than one; it is briefly implied in ''Sword Art Online: Special Edition'' that Grandis has a mind separate from the author himself, but it's constantly being pushed to the sidelines in favor of Grandis serving as a lab rat for everyone else. Regardless, he's stated by the author to be a more idealistic, albeit incredibly exaggerated, take on his more aggressive personality; while some friends have compared him to Odin, the author instead feels "Bowser as a good guy" better sums up the nature of his character, especially considering Grandis' physical abilities.]]

!!! Tropes that apply to Grandis

* [[spoiler:{{Alcohol Induced Idiocy}}:]] [[spoiler:See {{Could Have Avoided This Plot}}.]]
* {{Author Avatar}}: Flat out confirmed by the author without any real attempts to hide it, but the behavior Grandis is known for is more of a heavily [[{{Flanderization}} Flanderized]] version of himself who behaves more violently, is a {{Large Ham}} who can most definitely speak for himself directly, and doesn't have any medical issues holding him down for the most part. [[spoiler:He appears to even be a much more ''[[PeoplePuppets literal]]'' version of this as implied by Chapter 18 of ''Sword Art Online: Special Edition''.]]
* {{Badass Grandpa}}: Is no less than 100 years old, and clearly acts like a much, much older version of his namesake.
* {{Could Have Avoided This Plot}}: [[spoiler:His permanent injury to his respiratory system, as well as the hugely strained relationship he gave everyone, could've possibly been avoided had he not been half drunk.]]
* [[CrazyCatLady Crazy Ferret Man]]: Keeps a bunch of ferrets in his run down shack. [[spoiler:Later adds a beagle into all of it.]]
* {{Deconstructed Character Archetype}}: Of [[SelfInsertFic Self Inserts]]. He's first shown as being less than his powerful state than what he's known for, he's currently a washout who relies too much on his inherent raw power to get by, and even then he's clearly very out of practice [[spoiler:as Damion cripples him for years, and Kirito nearly kills him had he not been stopped from landing the fatal blow.]]
* {{Deity Of Human Origin}}: Of the {{Human Aliens}} and {{Ambiguously Human}} origins.
* [[spoiler:{{Delayed Narrator Introduction}}:]] [[spoiler:Based off of certain lines from other characters, as well as one from himself, he's implied to have appeared in every fic in the continuity by virtue of being the narrator for all of them.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: [[VideoGame/TeamFortress2 "I know everything! I feel everything!"]][[note]][[spoiler:Referring to his role as the narrator of each of the fics.]][[/note]]
* {{Irony}}: His debut in a nutshell is one from a meta-perspective.[[labelnote:Explanation]]The author has an immense hatred for Sugou Nobuyuki, and has made his hatred of him rather clear and to the point, such as [[https://chronicle-king.deviantart.com/art/FINISH-HIM-480627296 an outdated pic]] of Grandis giving his Nobuyuki's Oberon avatar the "[[Film/Godzilla2014 kiss of death]]" and [[https://chronicle-king.deviantart.com/art/Death-of-the-Fairy-King-605199888 a more recent pic]] of [[spoiler:an {{Eldritch Abomination}} version of Grandis killing Oberon (and his whole verse)]]. Naturally you would think Grandis would go in for the kill upon first setting sights on Nobuyuki in ''Sword Art Online: Special Edition'', but instead, he doesn't and simply tolerates the {{Jerkass}} as he proceeds to scare the living shit out of him in the remainder of the chapter.[[/labelnote]]
* {{Shout Out}}: To numerous different things, most especially Kiryu from ''[=Godzilla against Mechagodzilla=]''.
** His "I know everything! I feel everything!" line is based off of some dialogue from the Demoman from ''Team Fortress 2''.
* {{Take That Us}}: He's taking virtually every negative flaw of the author and exaggerating them/bringing them to the forefront.
* {{Troll}}: He's clearly having a blast tormenting Nobuyuki in his debut.
