* HeroAntagonist: In ''VisualNovel/HereForSweethearts''. While she's as unpleasant as ever, she's trying to [[spoiler: stop the pathosphires from eating the negative emotions of the students.]]

* TheSociopath: She's wholly selfish and incredibly manipulative, feels no shame in hurting others for her own gain, and believes she's entitled to get whatever she wants, by any means necessary. This works for her in ''VisualNovel/HereForSweethearts'', as her lack of emotions [[spoiler: makes her immune to Nova's EmotionEater powers.]]

* UncertainDoom: She is last seen running away before Crowven comes after her- when we next see him, he is covered in blood. But Mary made him plead not to kill Twyla and he seemed to agree to it, so it is hard to say what really happened.

* PetTheDog: At her family dinner party, picks up on Mary's nervousness and invites her to sit near her at the table.

The heroine of the story. She is an odd but kind girl with a strange hobby- she likes to visit the local cemetery. She used to live with her parents in the second story of the diner they owned, but ever since their disappearance, she has moved in with Crowven, who she considers a cousin despite not being related by blood. Her only line to her parents is an unknown phone number that contacts her every night. She also has the ability to talk to ghosts.

* BigBadEnsemble: With Twyla, the leader of the Parliament. He is the Blackwood Butcher terrorizing the town, but she is the one who kidnapped Mary's parents.

* KarmaHoudini: In all endings, he either is about to kill Mary or vanishes completely.

* {{Yandere}}: In his route, he reveals that his motive for his murders was that he knew Mary loved to visit strangers' funerals from his prior stalking of her, and so could see her again and again at the funerals, admiring her from afar. Once she discovers the truth, he ties her up while explaining everything.
** In his bad ending, he murders Twyla for making Mary cry at the cemetery, and later cuts Mary's tongue out to keep her from telling (thankfully offscreen).

* [[Goth]]: Complimenting Mary's PerkyGoth vibe, he has a dark fashion sense and decorating style, and is no stranger to hanging out at cemeteries. Though he can actually be pretty chipper himself, like when gushing to Mary about a date he went on.
* HiddenDepths: His singing Mary a lullaby (much to his own embarrassment) reveals that he has a pretty decent singing voice.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Mary tends to interpret other people's actions very charitably. She remains unsuspicious of both the [[TheDon crime boss]] Twyla and SerialKiller Reginald until either becoming victim to their crimes or hearing them confess outright, insisting Twyla is a good person despite her Jerkass tendencies and Reginald is too friendly to be up to anything suspicious.

* NiceGirl: Comforts families at funerals and leaves flowers on strangers' graves to ensure they don't feel lonely or forgotten. Is even nice to [[Jerkass Twyla]], who rarely reciprocates it.

* HotBlooded: At least when he isn't depressed, Crowven is impulsive, enthusiastic, and kind of a loudmouth who gives his all to everything from video games to gang warfare.

* HateSink: Becomes this in her bad end and the game's true ending. While she shows a degree of basic decency and cool traits in other routes,

* RichBitch: Less in-your-face about it than most examples, but her route (and one possible scene on Crowven's) reveals she lives a life of luxury... and is certainly less than pleasant to be around.

* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Has a horde of plushies in both her childhood bedroom and at Crowven's place.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Mary tends to interpret other people's actions very charitably. She remains unsuspicious of both Twyla and Reginald

* NightmareFetishist: Not counting her interest in funerals, which is for entirely non-morbid reasons, she is delighted by Reginald's coffin designs and giddy when he offers to design one for her; she even shows excitement at the prospect of being shut in one to see how it feels. Some of her plushies are also rather CreepyCute.

* BerserkButton: Gets angry at the sight or mention of Twyla... though given she's his gang rival, it's justified.

* Goth: Complimenting Mary's PerkyGoth vibe, he has a dark fashion sense and decorating style, and is no stranger to hanging out at cemeteries. Though he can be pretty chipper himself, like when gushing to Mary about a date he went on.

* PunnyName: ''Corvuson,'' considering his Crow theming, is a play on the genus name Corvus (which includes crows and ravens, among other birds). And considering his late father's [[TheDon identity]], he is quite an important "son."
* RealMenWearPink: Has a deer plushie in his bedroom, which does not detract at all from his tough character.

* BadassBookworm: Manages to catch a murderer more or less through research, snooping, and dogged persistence.

* FauxAffablyEvil: Tries to at least appear polite to others, but her cold demeanor undermines it.

* RichBitch: Less in-your-face about it than most examples, but her route reveals she lives a life of luxury... and is certainly less than pleasant to be around.
* PetTheDog: At her family dinner party, picks up on Mary's nervousness and invites her to sit nearby her at the table.
** In Crowven's route, she runs into Mary at the club and offers her a reprieve from Crowven and his friends.

* TheQuietOne: Not fond of making conversation, and tends to be [[BrutalHonesty straight to the point]] about it when she does. She'll thank you for staying quiet if you don't talk to her at the cafe.

* FreakyFashionMildMind: For a goth girl once noted as looking slightly demonic, people who meet her tend to be surprised that "Cemetery Mary" is so nice and normal.

* Goth: Complimenting Mary's PerkyGoth vibe, he has a dark fashion sense and decorating style, and is no stranger to hanging out at cemeteries. Though he can be pretty chipper himself, like when gushing to Mary about his date.

* RealMenWearPink: Has a deer plushie in his bedroom, which does not detract at all from his tough guy character.

* BrutalHonesty: Doesn't mince words in the least for any reason.

* BadassBookworm: If murder counts as badassery, he is this. Mary even meets him in the library.

* BirdsOfAFeather: His feelings for Mary can come down to this. On the surface, at least, both have similarly [[NightmareFetishist morbid interests]] and are generally friendly and cheerful, but also very lonely and isolated, all of which gives them something to connect over. However, this is eventually [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] by later revelations about Reginald's character; Reginald himself says that while Mary is a good person, he is certainly not.

* LoveMakesYouEvil/LoveMakesYouCrazy: He became a murderer specifically to keep seeing Mary at his victims' funerals.

* BrutalHonesty: Doesn't mince words in the least.

* TheQueenpin: She is the true leader of the Parliament, a mafia-like gang.

* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: She is not very good with people and tries to maintain a strictly professional relationship with Mary, only to get hostile if she sees Mary hanging around with Crowven or Reginald. It takes her entire route for her to finally warm up to Mary a little, but it seems like she finally does show a soft side. Then the true route reveals that she had Mary's parents kidnapped and is the true leader of a ruthless rival gang, and she proceeds to try to kill Mary and Crowven.

* AmbiguouslyHuman: While he seems human at first, later revelations imply he might be something else. Even when apprehended by Mary, he is somehow able to vanish from thin air and erase any trace of himself as if he never existed, and in the true endings, he breaks into the Parliament HQ, reappears to Mary, and slips her the key to her cell, then literally vanished, as if he is some kind of spirit.
* AnimalMotifs: A fang's pufferfish, per WordofGod. His yellow sclera, jacket color, and aggressiveness despite his cute appearance do hint at this.

* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Slightly downplayed due to [[GenericCuteness the game's art style]], but he has softer features than Crowven and long hair past his butt.

* AWolfInSheepsClothing: Almost ''too'' nice on first appearance. In Crowven's route especially, when he has little involvement in the main plot, he's nothing but courteous to Mary and is there for her when she needs a place to stay or a shoulder to cry on, despite them interacting three times at the maximum. Other routes go further and show that he's deranged and dangerous, if not sincere in his feelings for Mary.

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Because of her fascination with cemeteries, she was picked on by the other children, who called her "Scary Mary."
* AnimalMotifs: A manta ray, per WordofGod.

* BerserkButton: Don't disrespect the sanctity of a graveyard within Mary's presence. She lets [[spoiler: Theo]] have it in Crowven's route for stashing his weed in a tree there, intending to smoke it.

* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: Has a horde of plushies in her childhood bedroom.
* HornedHairdo: As pointed out by Theo in Crowven's route, two spikes of Mary's red hair stick up like a devil's horns.

* NiceGirl: Comforts families at funerals and leaves flowers on strangers' graves to ensure they don't feel forgotten. Is even nice to [[Jerkass Twyla]], who rarely reciprocates it.
* NightmareFetishist: Not counting her interest in funerals, which is for entirely non-morbid reasons, she is delighted by Reginald's coffin designs and giddy when he offers to design one for her. Some of her plushies are also noticeably darker themed.
* PerkyGoth: Despite her black dress and fascination with cemeteries and funerals, she is otherwise a normal, happy lady.
* ShrinkingViolet: Zig-zagged. Mary does enjoy being around people, but seems to struggle with making friends; Crowven is her OnlyFriend prior to the game's events. While she normally has little issue with talking to strangers, she rarely seems to be the one who starts the conversation, and often seems just as happy to fade into the background at a funeral as be part of it. When visiting a club and meeting Crowven's friends for the first time, she becomes overwhelmed and hides in the bathroom for a portion of the night.

* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Subverted. His light hair is strawberry blonde or caramel-colored, and he is certainly the most affable character in the main cast after Mary herself. But [[LightIsNotGood appearances can be deceiving,]] as the rest of this page demonstrates.

* AWolfInSheepsClothing: Almost ''too'' nice on first appearance. In Crowven's route especially, he's nothing but courteous to Mary and is there for her when she needs a place to stay or a shoulder to cry on, despite them interacting three times at maximum. Other routes make clear that he's deranged and dangerous, if not sincere in his feelings for Mary.
