* PutOnABus: Was infamously removed from all mainstream merchandise when the franchise was revived in the 00s. While many believed it was because Play Along didn't want two blue-colored bears and got rid of him in favor of Bed Time Bear, the truth is that he was actually [[SpinOff spun off]] into his own line... which for some reason only consists of clothing that appears to be targeting goths[[note]]Play-Along and American Greetings were GenreSavvy enough to recognize Grumpy's popularity. Unfortunately, they were WrongGenreSavvy and thought his fanbase consists mostly of goths. And to keep it family-friendly, the line was almost never advertised (although one will notice how Grumpy Bear had his own entry at American Greetings' site for several items, ie Wallpaper, at the time- of which the wallpapers also carry the tacky dark goth-style color schemes).[[/note]]. Thankfully, [[TheBusCameBack the mess was straightened out in time for the Adventures in Care-A-Lot revamp]].

* ItsAllAboutMe: Ironically, this was a notable trait of hers in ''Adventures in Care-a-Lot'' and to a lesser extent in ''Welcome to Care-a-Lot''. Apparently she's better at getting others to share things with ''her'' than she is at sharing with ''them.''

* DemotedToExtra: Was one of the most prominent Bears in the DIC cartoon, but when the Nelvada seasons began she had a much smaller role and didn't get as much to do. She got a larger role again in ''AdventuresInCareALot'' as the leader of the Care Bears, but for ''Welcome to Care-A-Lot'' Tenderheart reclaimed the role and Cheer was demoted. She remained one of the major characters on the show, though.

* DemotedToExtra: One of the biggest complaints regarding the 2000s revival and especially ''Adventures in Care-A-Lot'' was that Tenderheart was demoted to pretty much an extra in that series.

'' Most notable in the Star Comics series; in issue #3 a duo of villains are exposing the Forest of Feelings to a depression ray that turns everyone and everything blue and depressed. Cousins and Bears alike, as well as the Forest itself, lose all their energy and are too depressed to gather the strength to fight back. Funshine, however, is totally immune; even though the villains go so far to kidnap him and repeatedly expose him to the ray, he keeps joking and laughing and suggesting fun games to play until they admit defeat.
* ThePrankster
ThePrankster: Not in every incarnation, but sometimes. The movie ''Journey to Joke-A-Lot" heavily features Funshine's fondness for pranks. He even sings a song about it, called "Al I Wanna Do Is Make Them Laugh."
