The Chick is now a disambiguation, not a trope.

Knife Nut is no longer a trope.

* KnifeNut: As the better mêlée fighter among the Investigators, he'll probably be one once you'll arm him with a Trench Knife.
** Until he receives the [[ShovelStrike Sharp Shovel]].

* KnifeNut: The Cultists who charge the Investigators only armed with a knife.

* ImproperlyPlacedFirearms: German mooks are obviously armed with Lee-Enfield rifles. There actually aren't Mauser rifles in the game.

Removed Sword And Gun. The trope is about dualwielding both in the same time (which is impossible in the game), not \"being apt in both swordfighting and gunfighting\".

* SwordAndGun: Has his highest points (at least in the start) in Pistols and Melee.

* BadassBoast: (Upon encountering the first of the "[[OurZombiesAreDifferent Reanimate]]")
--> ''"The way I see it is; if I can shoot it, then I sure as hell can kill it!"''

* FriendlySniper: Is fairly skilled with the rifle, and is one of the most down to earth of the heroes.

to:

* OhCrap: Understandably is one of the first to panic when the squad first encounters the "[[OurZombiesAreDifferent Reanimate]]", since it's literally his first time encountering Eldritch Horror (even Captain Hill had experience in his DreamingOfThingsToCome level before). Doesn't last long though - see BadassBoast above.

[[folder: Investigators]]

* CombatMedic: Anyone can be this. Note that every party member carries a basic First Aid Kit in his starting inventory.
* FiveManBand
* GasmaskMooks: The gasmask is a standard piece of equipment that can be worn by the squad members, but doesn't shows ingame.

!!Captain Hill
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Subverted, he starts with polyvalent abilities but is not specialized, in opposition of the other teammembers.
* CommissarCap: Wears a British army officer cap.
* DreamingOfThingsToCome : The first undead enemies appear during Hill's nightmare, right before the real mission in which they actually are fought.
* ImproperlyPlacedFirearms: He starts the game equiped with a Mauser C96 instead of the standard Webley revolver. Actually not some ArtisticLicense for balance issue, but an example of ShownTheirWork (see the main page).
* JackOfAllStats: Hill starting stats make him average in everything.
* TheLeader
* PlayerCharacter: In the original campaign.

!! Professor Brightmeer
* BadassBookworm
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: He is stated to specialist in chemistry, biology, psychiatry, and Cthulhu Mythos.
* TheSmartGuy[=/=]TheLeader
* SquishyWizard: His starting level in Cthulhu Mythos skill (the one which determines the spell's efficiency) is the highest of the team and his hitpoints are the lowest.

!! Sidney "Sapper" Brown
* DeathFromAbove: He is the most skilled to request artillery strikes and starts the campaign with a homing pigeon in his inventory.
* TheLancer

!!Carlton Green
* TheBigGuy
* CarryABigStick: The Trench Club is Green's starting mêlée weapon.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: His scarred cheeks.
* InformedAbility: According to the Game Info menu, Green is very skilled in boxing. This is a game which doesn't feature any barehanded combat system...
* KnifeNut: As the better mêlée fighter among the Investigators, he'll probably be one once you'll arm him with a Trench Knife.
** Until he receives the [[ShovelStrike Sharp Shovel]].
* LightningBruiser: He begins the campaign with a quite high level in mêlée combat and also has the highest starting amount of action points.

!!Emma Gold
* BadassBookworm
* TheChick
* FragileSpeedster: She starts with about as much action points as Green, but is much less resilient.
* InsistentTerminology: Gold prefers being called "psychoanalyst" instead of "alienist", as it sounds "much more enlightened".
* ItsPersonal: Gold seeks revenge against Kaul since he killed her twin sister.
* ShortRangeShotgun: Her starting weapon is the weakest of the two shotguns.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She is the only (human) female of the game.
* WarriorTherapist: Gold, literally, although she uses her therapist skills to help her companions instead of psychologically hurting her enemies. As an actual therapist (formed by Sigmung Freud), she starts with the highest Psychoanalysis level and equiped with a Psychoanalysis book. For the "warrior" part, she also is equipped with a shotgun.

!!Generic British soldier
* MightyGlacier: The generic British soldier starts with a quite low amount of action points and average hit points, while being potent in mêlée and rifle fighting. He can become this after spending some experience points and wearing the heaviest armours.
* RedShirt: Subverted. He doesn't have any characterization, any lines, and is not supposed to survive any mission (and if killed he can be replaced by another generic Tommy between two missions), but he is as competent as the other Investigators and can survive the whole campaign if the player is careful enough.
* SixthRanger
* TheVoiceless: Never intervenes in cutscenes or dialogs.

[[folder: The Germans]]

* ApocalypseCult: The German "Cult of the Awakened", who plan to create an undead army from corpses of victims of the war.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: German officers and Cult Adepts are more resilient and have more action points than their regular counterparts.
* EvilCounterpart: The generic British soldiers have more or less the same unit portrait as the basic German mooks (half hidden face covered by the helmet, with only the mouth and the chin exposed), with different helmets and uniforms.
* EyepatchOfPower: Appears of the unit portrait (above the stats) of the Cult Adepts (officers for the Cultists).
* GasmaskMooks: Part of the mandatory outfit of the German {{Heavily Armored Mook}}s.
* ImproperlyPlacedFirearms: German mooks are obviously armed with Lee-Enfield rifles. There actually aren't Mauser rifles in the game.
* KnifeNut: The Cultists who charge the Investigators only armed with a knife.
* SelectiveHistoricalArmoury: Germans are only equiped with Mauser C96 as sidearm, while the more common P08 Luger is totally absent from the game.
* TaintedVeins: Appears of the unit portrait of the Cult Adepts.

!! Docktor Kaul
* BaldOfEvil
* BigBad
* LightningBruiser: He has more action points than Green and slightly less hitpoints (his starting stats make him still is more resilient than the rest of the Investigators).
* MadScientist
* PlayerCharacter: In ''Kaul's Diary''.
* VillainProtagonist: You play as him in ''Kaul's Diary''.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Monsters]]

* ArtificialZombie: The Reanimates, soldiers of an undead army risen from fallen soldiers, thanks to an improved version of Herbert West's researches.
* BodyHorror: Some Reanimates just look like rotten corpses. Some other look more twisted or deformed.
* {{Cthulhumanoid}}: [[spoiler: The Cthulhoids (hybrids of human and Star Spawns; Star Spawns are basically miniature Cthulhus), which are green humanoids slightly taller than normal humans with a Cthulhu face.]]
* CombatTentacles: Tentacles appear in the last levels, as unmoving enemies. They stand on some sorts of organic nods and attack Investigators who walk to close.
* EldritchAbomination: Shub-Niggurath's Dark Youngs, Flying Polyps, [[spoiler: Cthuloids.]]
* GasmaskMooks: Some of the Reanimates wear some.
* GiantSpider: Leng Spiders.
* HeavilyArmoredMook: The Iron Cultists, who are cultists wearing armour, gasmasks, and machine guns or shotguns. There are also the Storm Soldiers, who are armoured variants of the basic German mooks.
* LightningBruiser: [[spoiler: The Cthulhoids. Lot of armour, average to high action points, hit hard.]]
* NightOfTheLivingMooks: The Reanimates.
* NotUsingTheZWord: The Reanimates are an obvious variant of zombies, but they are never called zombies.

!! [[spoiler: The Star Spawn of Cthulhu]]
* {{Cthulhumanoid}}: [[spoiler: It's basically a smaller and weaker kin of Cthulhu.]]
* TheDragon: Future Dragon, anyway. [[spoiler: The Star-Spawn is being summoned by Kaul in order to be the general of his army.]]
* TheDreaded: Brightmeer seems to have identified which creature is involved in Kaul's plan long some times before actually meeting it, but refuses to say its name until it is already standing in front of the Investigators and Hill asks Brightmeer what the hell is this monster.
** It is literally dreaded, as it is the monster which causes the most Sanity losses when you fight it.
* EldritchAbomination
* FinalBoss
