Not only that, but his lingering presence causes Kawaki to become paranoid enough to try and kill Boruto, which spirals into a series of events that results in Boruto becoming a fugitive]].

* CharacterDevelopment: [[spoiler:After his death and having possessed Boruto's body, Momoshiki learns to be far more pragmatic given that he's nowhere near as powerful as he was when he was alive. Previously, he simply relied on absorbing attacks sent at him before using his sheer power to overwhelm anything in his way. Now he chooses to play the long game, biding his time before taking control over Boruto's body when the time is right.]]

The major difference is Boruto learns to appreciate the nature and benefits of hard work and abandons this mindset, ultimately becoming a better person in the end; Momoshiki sticks with his mindset and it ultimately gets him killed. [[spoiler:Reinforced more when we learn that Momoshiki plans to take over Boruto's body through the Karma]].

* CurbstompCushion: He defeats Naruto and Sasuke handily, but exhausts himself to such a degree in the process that he opts to not kill Naruto as it would cost too much of his remaining strength. He is still left in such a drained state that even after resting for days he is still weakened so much (barely at 10% of his usual strength) that Amado and Koji are able to put their own plan into action.

* CurbStompBattle: He can dominate ''both'' Naruto and Sasuke going all out on him, though not without serious costs.
** He's on the receiving end of one by [[spoiler:Naruto in his Baryon mode. Naruto effortlessly counters all of Isshiki's attacks while dishing out even harder ones. Isshiki is left in fury at his inability to defeat Naruto, and that was before he realises that Naruto was shaving off his already short lifespan. The only reason why Isshiki was able to gain the upper hand at the last moment was due to Baryon mode starting to give in and Isshiki's quick thinking.]]

* DimensionalTraveler: He can access Kaguya's dimension and other worlds, presumably with his Rinnegan.

* EyeScream: The Rinnegan in Momoshiki's palm that can absorb techniques is gauged out in the final battle with him, leaving him vulnerable to the Boruto's final Rasengan.

Additionally, Eida's Senrigan is derived from his DNA, indicating he possessed it as well.

* InvincibleVillain: While not on Kaguya’s level of power, Isshiki is capable of beating down Naruto and Sasuke (the two strongest shinobi in the world) without breaking a sweat, and notably, with his Sukunahikona and Daikokuten abilities, he's able to shrink and store away literally anything thrown at him that isn't organic and living, effectively neutralizing almost every possible attack that may be used against him. It's quite telling how much of an invincible figure he is, if [[spoiler: Naruto’s Baryon Mode was the only thing that was able to turn the tables, which allowed Naruto to beat him up like a rag doll. And even then, the reason it worked wasn't because of the hits Naruto inflicted him, but because of the fact the Baryon Mode reduced his lifespan enough that his body started falling apart, due to resurrecting in Jigen's body, before he could ensure his revival in Kawaki.]].

* MaleMightFemaleFinesse: Played with and inverted with his partner [[spoiler:Kaguya. For while they are both extremely powerful and capable of ending the world, Isshiki does not appear to possess the casual apocalypse-level power Kaguya wielded after devouring the whole Chakra Fruit of Earth's Divine Tree on her own, and everything we see him do, while being tremendously impressive against any other character, is still on a smaller scale than the things Kaguya accomplished. On the other hand, Isshiki displays much greater skill and technique when fighting, allowing him to be just as difficult to handle for Naruto and Sasuke (if not even more) without any need for instant kill moves or world-ending jutsu. Kaguya infamously seemed to lack much knowledge of tactics or skill, relying on sheer power and advice from Black Zetsu.]]

* HumanResources: His corpse was used to transplant several of his powers onto other people, Eida's Senrigan, Daemon's strength and attack reflection, and Code's claw mark powers. Collectively, his abilities are referred to as Shinjutsu.

* AdaptationalCurves: After absorbing Kinshiki in the movie, he becomes a muscle-bound oni-like creature who towers over Naruto and Sasuke. In the manga and anime, he retains his small and sleek appearance.

* MyDeathIsJustTheBeginning: [[spoiler:The Karma that Momoshiki gives to Boruto just before his death has the same function as the Karma that Isshiki gave to Jigen (and Jigen to Kawaki) many years ago. Namely, that it will eventually allow Momoshiki to come back to life through Boruto.]]
* OneWingedAngel:
** Turns into a red demonic ogre after absorbing Kinshiki, vastly increasing his raw power and gains the ability to generate [[EnergyWeapon weapons]] for himself. Even Naruto and Sasuke working together barely slowed him down.

* SuperpoweredEvilSide: [[spoiler:Through the Karma, he eventually becomes one to Boruto. When the seal briefly overrides his body, Boruto becomes Momoshiki both in power and personality, such that his teammates don't recognize him.]]

* InvincibleVillain: While not on Kaguya’s level of power, he was still able to deliver one hell of a beating to both Naruto and Sasuke (since they lacked several of the powers they had during their battle with Kaguya) and [[spoiler: Naruto’s Baryon Mode was the only thing that was able to turn the tables which allowed Naruto to beat him up like a rag doll and reduce his lifespan]].

* MysteriousPast: While we do know about what he was doing when he arrived on Earth, just what he's been doing for most of the past [[spoiler:thousand years has as yet not been touched upon. We know nothing about if he was aware of Black Zetsu and Kaguya's plans or what he thought of them, what, if any, role he's played in shinobi history, etc. The Kara organization itself seems to only be a couple decades old at most, and the technology Isshiki uses to help him gain a perfect host is mostly recently invented as well, making it all the more unclear what he may have been doing all those centuries. All the more confusing given how powerful he is even in Jigen's body, yet he's seemingly done nothing with all that power until recently.]]

* {{Sizeshifter}}: Not only is he the source of Jigen's sizeshifting abilities, he shrank himself in order to enter Jigen's ear and directly control his brain. [[spoiler: He is capable of shrinking everything that is in his sight, as long as it is inorganic, and to retrieve it when he wants it.]]

* ExtraEyes: Notably, he's to date the only !Ōtsutsuki who has an eye embedded on both his palms. Thanks tothem, he's capable of absorbing jutsus and shoot them amplified.

* StarterVillain: Of the ''Manga/{{Boruto}}'' movie and manga. Played with because on the SortingAlgorithmOfEvil he is one of the most powerful entities in the the verse. [[spoiler:Not so much later on, when we learn that Boruto's Karma seal is actually a failsafe for Momoshiki to continue living, because he wants to be reincarnated into Boruto. And once Isshiki is defeated, the prospect of his resurrection becomes a threat that Boruto has to deal with]].

A mysterious race of so-called celestial beings who have been involved in mankind's affairs since the dawn of the Age of Ninja. Kaguya's defeat and imprisonment has only drawn the attention of more Otsutsuki, who are now descending upon the world with the intention of doing what she could not.

* EvilIsPetty: In chapter 67 [[spoiler:he saves Boruto's life at the expense of his own resurrection, apparently also for the sake of wanting to watch something spectacular and terrible that is going to happen in the near future (Boruto dying would have severed his soul's connection to the living world, so by keeping Boruto alive, even if Momoshiki now can't resurrect, he can still watch what is going to unfold). Simply put, he saved Boruto's life in order to ultimely save his own exsistence, but also for his own twisted amusement and wanting to see the boy suffer later]].
