* ImmuneToFlinching: Krieg is heavier than the other Vault Hunters, giving him less knockback from attacks, which goes good with his melee-centric play-style. This also has the unfortunate side effect of making grenade jumping and certain Badass Challenges impossible to do using him, such as getting a geyser to launch you to the top of the Happy Pig Motel sign. It doesn't launch him nearly high enough.

Gearbox patched said Challenges out of the Psycho's Badass Challenge list, possibly because they couldn't rework Krieg to accomplish them without making his knockback the same as the other characters.

Second line of the trope description: \"Either it revolves around a specific gimmick no other classes has access to...\" This is just vague enough to claim that all 6 vault hunters are a Mechanicaly Unusual Class because of their action skill. You can\'t turn invisible and assassinate enemies like Zer0 with Maya. You can\'t deploy a turret with Salvador. All 6 classes have their own unique properties that nobody else can replicate, making them all mechanicaly unusual classes by it\'s own definition. I\'m just not seeing how this trope can only apply to two characters but not the other four. When it comes right down to it, all 6 characters still play the way they should in a FPS game. None of the game\'s core mechanics are being radically altered. Everyone still shoots at enemies and makes them die.

* MechanicallyUnusualClass: Gaige was designed as a character who can be played by someone inexperienced with shooters (specifically the Best Friends Forever tree) as well as being DifficultButAwesome (the Ordered Chaos tree).

* MechanicallyUnusualClass: As noted below, Krieg was designed as a character who did things you usually avoided as other characters (many of his skills focusing on taking as much damage as he deals) as well as having a higher focus towards melee/close-range combat compared to other characters.
