* ComedicLolicon: Her overbearing affections towards Kobato have some serious vibes of this. Her behavior just becomes increasingly creepier as the series goes on, much to poor Kobato's horror. Sena claims she simply wants Kobato to also be her little sister, but then she plays an eroge with a LittleSisterHeroine that looks suspiciously identical to Kobato…

* LoveConfession: [[spoiler:Right after sending Aoi away, Sena openly confesses to Kodaka in front of everyone. He tries to pass it off and ignore it and she does it again. Lacking any way to maintain the status quo, Kodaka runs away.]]

* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: The poor kid is none too amused by Sena's antics.

* SenseiChan: [[spoiler:Turns out she wasn't even a teacher at all, but was placed into such a position by Kate because there was nobody to take care of her at home, resulting in Kate taking Maria to school with her. Then, in a ploy to save the Neighbors Club from Aoi, Sena calls her father to have her officially declared as one.]]

* NoSocialSkills: Yukimura grew up almost without any social interaction, which factors into his inability to adapt to society, or even [[spoiler:act like the girl she really is]].

* RealMenWearPink: According to Yozora. [[spoiler:Inverted, when her gender is revealed, after which she has her dress up in suits.]]

Subverted with Kobato (his little sister, of course), whom he doesn't care about seeing naked ([[InnocentFanserviceGirl and neither does Kobato]]). He also stumbles in on Kate in the shower, but since it was clearly an accident and he apologizes immediately she doesn't care. It got so bad every girl in the Neighbors Club brings up a time when he's seen her naked, except for Rika,[[spoiler: which is not accidental as Rika later makes him look at her body in Volume 9]]. He had also seen the student council members in their undies as he accidentally walked in their clubroom.
* AllMenArePerverts: Inverted -- It's his female clubmates (mainly [[LovableSexManiac Rika]] and [[GamerChick Sena]]) who create the impression among his schoolmates that he is one, like that one time Rika liberally talked about the thrills of '''rape''' in front of him and in the presence of his stunned classmates.

* JapaneseDelinquent: What most of his schoolmates assume him to be, on account of his blond hair which contrasts with his Japanese face (a result of [[ButNotTooForeign mixed-race parentage]]), as well as a very bad first-day-at-school impression, when he comes in looking haggard, barely making it to school in time, then staggering in fatigue towards his teacher with his arms forward and fingers curled ([[NotWhatItLooksLike making his classmates assume he is about to attack their teacher]]) after introducing himself. It doesn't help that he almost always looks like he's pissed off or annoyed.

* DidIJustSayThatOutLoud: In ''NEXT'' Episode 2, Kodaka runs into Rika in the clubroom without her glasses. She tells him her vision is actually perfect, then asks him what he thinks of her. He has a brief ImagineSpot where he says she's like a wildflower blooming on a hill, and right in his strike zone. In the English dub, he frankly states that "As for whether I'd hit that or not, I'd have to say: Hells yeah." Rika's face then [[HighPressureEmotion turns red]], and he earns himself some slight scorn from [[ClingyJealousGirl Yozora, Sena, and Yukimura]].

* {{Dismotivation}}: [[spoiler:His SelectiveObliviousness takes some effort to maintain, preferring the friendly Neighbor's Club to actually getting into any sort of relationship.]]

* ObfuscatingStupidity: [[spoiler:Eventually it turns out he is not so clueless -- he is just pretending that he is.]]

* OnlySaneMan: Kodaka seems like the one sane and normal member of the group, if a bit dense. However, [[spoiler:like Kobato, he actually holds people at arm's length, refusing to get close or acknowledge things he doesn't want to]].

* SelectiveObliviousness: When his failure to recognize the girls around him grows too strong, Rika begins to suspect that he's going out of his way to never, ever notice how they feel. [[spoiler:Further events make it plain that he knows and is deliberately ignoring the issue. This culminated with Rika confronting him at the end of Volume 8, after he made it clear he'd rather ignore their feelings. Rika was willing to pretend it never happened, but warned him that sooner or later some other girl ''will'' take a shot, and he really needed to be ready for that. He wasn't: Sena openly confessed and he ran away.]]

* ShroudedInMyth: Has the unfortunate reputation of being a {{delinquent}} thanks to his blond hair and an intimidating facial expression (especially when angry). Though, to Kodaka's defense, not only was her hair much shorter back then, but he also thought she was a boy. * ChildhoodFriendRomance: A deconstruction. [[spoiler:Perhaps due to her clear social cluelessness, throughout most of the series Yozora simply assumes that being Kodaka's childhood friend means that him loving her is inevitable regardless of anything else that happens. When she realizes that, in real life, this isn't an instant romance button, she has a very bad freak out. (All the more so because the entire time, she's only been able to control her envy of Sena's various merits by constantly telling herself that none of it matters, because she is the childhood friend and thus no amount of beauty, talent, wealth or even genuine love on Sena's part would win her Kodaka. When she discovers that he's actually known and was friends with Sena since long before he ever knew her, she falls into utter despair once again.)]]

** Yozora's main reason for creating the club was [[spoiler:to be reacquainted with Kodaka]], then Sena joined the club. [[SpringtimeForHitler And that's just the beginning.]]
** She had Yukimura wear a [[RealMenWearPink maid's uniform]] [[ItAmusedMe for her own amusement]]. It wasn't so funny for her when [[spoiler:Yukimura was eventually revealed to be a girl]].
