* EverythingsBetterWithSpinning: Upon his defeat Ratatosk twirls dramatically and falls to the ground, with an explosion of his boa feathers drifting slowly to the ground.

* ArchEnemy: He's Django's longest lasting opponent and responsible for much of the tragedy in his life.

* ClassicalMovieVampire: He's the most traditional of all the vampires in the series. He's aristocratic, wears a high collared black suit with a cape, stays in a dark castle filled with undead minions, used blood and bats for attacks, drains blood by biting his victim's necks, and is one of the only humanoid Immortals that does change into a monstrous form for battle. In a world full of [[OurVampiresAreDifferent extremely strange "vampires"]], he stands out for being so classic, yet still always being powerful to be one of the main threats every time he appears.

* WeakenedByTheLight: It burns him, as you may expect. By the time of his last battle in the third game he absorbed enough power to [[RemovedWeakness walk in sunlight unharmed]]. Django only defeated him by unlocking his [[SuperMode full potential]] to overwhelm him.

* BossAreanaIdiocy: For reasons unknown, in the first game he decides to fight in a room with an open skylight, which can be exploited to damage and stun him.

* TheMole: He was orginaly supposed to spy on Hel, but he developed a crush on her instead.

* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler:His final fate is being burned in the Pile Driver in vampire Ringo’s body while Ringo’s spirit restrains from escaping into another body]]

* ElementalPowers: Django can channel his inherent magic into the four classic elements as well as his natural affinity to [[LightEmUp Sol]] and [[CastingAShadow Dark]] using the lenses of the Gun Del Sol.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Becomes Ratatosk's puppet in the third game.

* YinYangBomb: Like his brother, he has a natural inclination to this. Unfortunately, Aunty Hel’s experiments all but destroyed his ability to use the Solar potion of heritage.
* WeakenedByTheLight: As his body is imbued by the power of Dark Matter, Sabata takes continuous damage from exposure to sunlight. He neary dies in the second game when he tries to use the Piledriver to purify Django.

* ClassicalMovieVampire: Well, he certainly looks the part, being an {{Expy}} of Dracula and all.

* DishingOutDirt: He is the Immortal of Earth, after all. One of his attacks involves raising bloody spikes from the ground below to impale his opponents.

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: You can blast his floating swords back at him, and his charge attack can be used to burn him with the skylights.

* RedOniBlueOni: Carmilla wears red and is sad and withdrawn, while friendly and outgoing Lita wears blue.

* BossArenaIdiocy: Yes, the mirrors can reflect her blasts into you, but they also let Django reflect her attacks back at her. Of course, given she can rotate the mirrors and break them at will, this is definitely a lesser example.

* GorgeousGorgon: In her boss fight, Carmilla turns into an immense {{Lamia}} with slithering locks of hair and a [[SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains sexed-up]] [[EvilCostumeSwitch new cut for her red dress]] and attacks with orb of magic that turn whatever they hit [[TakenForGranite to stone]]. This form is called [[SadlyMythtaken Banshee]] the Deathbringer.

* CainAndAble: The cruel and greedy elder sister of the benevolent Moon Beauty, Mani. She was the one who killed her sister in attempt to steal her power for her plans to transform the world into her own undead kingdom.

* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler: She returns in the third game as an ally.]]

* SealedEvilInADuel: [[spoiler: She willingly decides to remain sealed with Vangardr to prevent the beast from ever awakening again.]]

* OneWingedAngel: Transforms into a gigantic horned beast after being hit with a solar-charged Otenko.

* FeatherFlechettes: Attacks with sharp feather projectiles

* OxymornicBeing: She’s an undead Immortal that channels the power of the Sun, which is bane to all undead in this setting. Her plant-growing powers give her an association with life, in contrast to her fellow Earth Immortal, the Count who prefers more death-related bloody stone spires. Ironically, her unique powers made her the one Immortal weak to the power of darkness, when all others thrive on it.

A powerful Immortal and the one who killed Django's father, [[spoiler: or so Django thinks]]. No matter how many times he is beaten, he always seems to find a way to return.

The Queen of Darkness, who acts as the main antagonist in the first game.

* MakingASplash: Despite her [[AnIcePerson Frost]] alignment, she is actually the Water Immortal.

A member of the Demon Clan of Immortals and the main antagonist of Boktai 3. His plan is to conquer the earth using the Eternal Vanargand, who resides on the moon. Unlike most Immortals, he chooses not to follow the Will of the Galaxy, instead working for his own goals. He appears in the timelines of both Boktai 3 and Lunar Knights. In Boktai 3, [[spoiler: he is defeated by Django and Otenko in the Dark Castle]]. However in the Lunar Knights timeline, [[spoiler: Django is already dead at that point, and so his plan is successful. He gains the title "Lord of Destruction" and conquers the earth. Later on, he is greatly wounded in a battle against Trinity, and is eventually killed with Trinity by Dumas.]]
