* SmallNameBigEgo: All of them thought they could take on the Soul Reaper Captains and Lieutenants who spent hundreds of years training simply because they gained a piece of Ichigo's Fullbring. Obviously they are quickly defeated with little difficulty. Thankfully, after [[CurbStompBattle this trainback]], all their arrogance get out of the window.

* DarkIsEvil: He dresses in all black, has black hair, is manipulative, rude and brutal and freely admits he makes a cliched villain. He is eventually revealed to be the true ArcVillain and that Tsukishima is following his orders. His true personality shows him as a malicious and sadistic individual. During the climax of the arc, he becomes clad in black and white skeletal armor.

* EvilCounterpart: He is a darker, more cynical and bitter version of Ichigo. Both are {{BFS}}-wielding Substitute Soul Reapers with SwordBeam techniques. They are both rude people hiding gentler personalities, who will let out an inner BloodKnight if it will help them achieve their goals. They both have Hollow-derived powers and they can both control their sentimentality if it means getting the job done. However, Ginjo struggles to trust people and holds grudges when his trust is broken. Ichigo is better able to understand and empathise with others and therefore doesn't hold grudges. This crucial difference is what defines their reactions to learning about Ukitake's surveillance and kill-switch: Ginjo cannot forgive and becomes an enemy of Soul Society while Ichigo realises Ukitake was being sensible and instigated a method whereby Ichigo could figure out the truth for himself. The post-war novels later reveal that Ginjo's problem wasn't a trust issue, but that Soul Society had tried to assassinate him and in the process killed all his friends. Ginjo is what Ichigo could have become if he had lost all his friends too.

* HerosEvilPredecessor: He was the Substitute Soul Reaper before Ichigo. He turned against Soul Society when his friends were killed by a Soul Reaper and learning the true nature of substitute badge. This would prompt the anti-substitute law in Soul Society. He first appears in the aptly titled Lost Agent arc to manipulate his successor Ichigo Kurosaki into joining his organization in order to help him in getting Fullbring. Ginjo aims at getting Ichigo strong enough so that he can take his power at the appropriate time and use the accumulated power to wage war on Soul Society. To further illustrate this, they both use the Getsuga Tensho at each other during their fight.

* InterimVillain: He's the ArcVillain that is sandwiched between the two major BigBad villains, Aizen and Yhwach. He had neither the longevity or gravitas of the other two, but he was able to [[HeroicBSOD break]] Ichigo so completely that Ichigo ended up sobbing on his knees ''begging'' for his stolen power to be returned. The consequence is the restoration of Ichigo's Soul Reaper powers, allowing Ichigo to come out of his 'retirement' from being a Soul Reaper while also allowing the Gotei 13 to repay their debt to Ichigo for defeating Aizen, by helping him to defeat this interim villain. The villain later returns during the story's final battle to ensure Ichigo has the power required to defeat Yhwach. Because the manga was CutShort due to the creator's failing health, the follow-up light novel ''Can't Fear Your Own World'' expands Ginjo's back story, clarifying the full extent of his importance to the wider plot.

* MysteriousBacker: Tsukishima suddenly begins targeting Ichigo and his friends and Ginjo suddenly starts helping Ichigo and his friends. The only thing they know about X-Cution, Fullbring and Tsukishima comes from Ginjo. Ginjo's reason for wanting Ichigo's help is flimsy at best. He's eventually revealed to be the real villain of the Lost Agent arc who cultivated Ichigo's power to steal for himself.

* PowerDuplication: His enhanced Cross of Scaffold gives him the abilitiy to replicate the powers of others that he has absorbed. He is capable of using Invaders Must Die despite the fact that Yukio was defeated, and can presumbably use the Fullbring of the other members of Xcution. He can use his own version of Ichigo's Fullbring which clads him in skeletal armor. He can also use a Getsuga Tensho as well which is just as powerful as Ichigo's.

* FakeMemories: He has the power to implant memories in those he stabs, making them believe they were always his friends. It's used to agonizing effect to cause Ichigo's friends and family think he is their ally and Ichigo the one acting strange. However the power is not perfect and those it is used against can start to question the plausibility of the fake memories, though he does enjoy forcing this as him directly questioning his victims implanted memories will cause them to breakdown.

* HeelFaceTurn: After being killed he ends up in Soul Society and is taken in by KÅ«kaku Shiba, who starts training him to fight the Vandenreich. When he meets Ichigo again during the final fight, Ichigo is still understandably wary of him, but Tsukishima helps fix Tensa Zangetsu, burrying the hatchet between them.
* TheHeavy: Tsukishima is the central antagonist of the Lost Agent arc. He drove the plot of the arc in just about every way; without him, Ginjo's plan would've never come to fruition, or turned out successful as it did. He stalks and brainwashes Ichigo's friends and family to turn them against him to corner him so that when the time was right, Ginjo could backstab Ichigo and steal his Fullbring. Even after TheReveal, he's manages to share equal ground with his partner on account of being more powerful and not at all subservient.

* ManipulativeBastard: Tsukishima is a cunning individual who enacts Ginjo's plan. He uses his Fullbring's power to insert his presence in the pasts of anyone he cuts in order brainwash all of Ichigo's friends and family. This makes Ichigo appear to be insane in front of them all when Ichigo retaliates. Ichigo would then get bailed by Ginjo, setting up another part of Ginjo's plan where Tsukishima would cut Ginjo again to undo the effects of Book of the End. The two would then break Ichigo and steal his Fullbring from him.

* MultipleChoicePast: A side-effect of his Fullbring is, that whenever he inserts himself into the past, the past will always remain real for him. When he inserts himself into a new past, that past too will be added to his, regardless of how contradictory it is. The end result is that Tsukishima has a plethora of pasts that contradict each other, but are true for him nonetheless. Luckily for Tsukishima, he is able to remember and recognize, which aspects of his past are a result of his Fullbring and which not.

* CharacterDevelopment: Following his humiliating defeat at Hitsugaya's hands, Yukio treats Jackie kindly and suggests he'll reform the group in a couple of years, including her even though she lost her power. In ''Can't Fear Your Own World'', he stays true to his word. He later appears to help Ichigo and co alongside Riruka without hesitation; hesitation. This is the same kid who whined about something minor as helping Ichigos training and openly admitted he despised Riruka and wouldn't have cared if she died.

* NeverMyFault: Its implied that Yukio had been trying to convince himself that his bad relationship with his parents wasn't his fault and he had a justified reason to ruin his parents' life. {{Subverted|Trope}}, because his denying it means he actually know he's guity too and after Hitsugaya gave him a piece of mind he might reconsider his opinion on the whole situation.

* SelfServingMemory: Its implied that Yukio's memories about his parents are exaggerated inconviniences and/or actually a lie Yukio [[BelievingTheirOwnLies created to himself and strongly tries to believe in]]. Partly because [[NeverMyFault he doesn't feel guilty about killing them and thinking its his fault]]. After Hitsugaya gave him a piece of mind, he apparently starts to reconsider his attitude and maybe realise how its actually was.
