* ImplacableMan: This man will not die! It took getting sliced vertically in half to finally take him down.

* NotSoDifferent: According to Askin she and Yoruichi are both beautiful women with a penchant for pragmatism.

* NotSoDifferent: With Yhwach of all people. As is turns out both Äs Nödt and Yhwach are motivated by a strong fear of death and the desire to escape said fate as much as possible.

* NotSoDifferent: He thought he and Renji have similar tastes in fashion, and even felt Renji's eyebrows are cool. Until Renji insults his Mohawk, that is.

* NotSoDifferent: During his confrontation with Urahara, he claims that Urahara like him would want to see the creation of a new world. While Urahara claims that this is not the case, he later specifies that a scientist like him would rather create things with their own hands. Askin liked the answer.

Sternritter "Z" of "The Zombie". A petite boy with quirky hair that's tied to make it look like he has antennae. He's a tad stranger than his other compatriots, publicly talking about whether or not someone's had sex without a care in the world, and generally acting flighty in the middle of battle. Despite this, he is capable of great sadism and cruelty and will turn upon his allies once they are down.

As "The Zombie", he possesses a powerful HealingFactor, making him very difficult to kill. He can also control anyone who comes into physical contact with his blood, making his victims a type of "zombie". Perhaps to reflect this, he also has a bone-themed bow.

* AllThereInTheManual: According to extra pages detailing some of the Sternritter that were released with Chapter 615 in Shonen Jump, Giselle is biologically male, but the material does not confirm for certain whether Giselle personally identifies as male or female. It is also unknown if those extra pages are accurate or not since they were made by Kubo's editor instead of Kubo himself.
* AmbiguousDisorder: Something is not right with Giselle's mind. Giselle seems to have some disconnection with reality, as he genuinely doesn't seem to realize that performing ColdBloodedTorture and receiving an orgasm while hearing the screams of someone he kills, makes him sadist, as he denies being one. He likewise seems to have no problems with abusing Bambietta, even though he loves her, despite being much more nicer to people he doesn't have the same affection for. It seems Giselle treats Bambietta that way, precisely because he loves her. Giselle can go from bashing Bambietta's head in a fit of rage to gushing and hugging her in extreme joy and proclaiming how much he loves her within mere seconds. And while he looked at what he had done, Giselle had a look of confusion in his face, as if he doesn't realize what he actually just did. He also displays several control and abandonment issues throughout the series and that is without going into his necrophilac tendencies.

* AntagonistAbilities: Giselle's Zombie abilities are triggered via contact with his blood, so he entices his opponents to cut him ensuring they become covered in his blood. If they are alive when this contact happens, they are placed in a state of undeath allowing Giselle to control their minds. If they were dead, they're resurrected under Giselle's complete control. Giselle's HealingFactor is so great he's almost impossible to kill and instantly heals even lethal injuries.
* BadassAdorable: Giselle has the face of cute young girl and likes to engange in funny shenanigans, but he also beat Rukia to the brink of death during the first invasion and according to Liltotto is even stronger than Meninas and Candice.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Giselle is a cheerful person who likes to make silly faces and snark at friends. * Bokukko: Giselle uses the word boku, which is a word normally used by men. It's not associated with people who have the more feminine appearance of Giselle. Both Yumichika and Charlotte separately identify Giselle as being male which enrages Giselle. It's strongly implied that Yumichika and Charlotte are correct about Giselle being male. Regardless of that, the use of "boku" does reflect Giselle's childish personality and behavior and his quite infantile mindset rather well.

* ControlFreak: Giselle seems to have problems, if other people, especially Bambietta, don't listen to his commands. Whenever Bambietta doesn't follow or even talks back, Gisellle immediately resorts to violence and once became very enraged. Giselle mentions that the lack of control is one of the disadvantages of zombifying someone after death. It would also explain his ILoveTheDead preference for the undead, as zombies can't disobey.
* CreepyCrossdresser: Yumichika suggests that Giselle reeks of semen and so must be a man. Charlotte later makes a similar accusation. The accusations anger Giselle, who does not either confirm or deny it.
* CuteAndPsycho: Giselle has the innocent face of a little girl and behaves likes that most of the time, but he also once bashed Bambietta's head against the ground in sheer rage, only to gleefully embrace and declare his love for Bambietta a few seconds later.

** Giselle is very gentle and calm when offering to help Bambietta, but the blind panic this offer causes Bambietta makes Giselle's serenity appear creepy. It's later revealed Giselle's idea of helping was to murder Bambietta and inject the corpse with his blood, effectively creating an immortal and loyal zombie with Vollsterndich and The Explode completely intact.
** After revealing that his blood effectively brainwashes them if it comes into contact, Giselle cheerfully orders the RedShirts to commit suicide.
* FaceFramedInShadow: Giselle's confession that he doesn't want Bambietta to die is accompanied by a face covered in dark silhouette. It makes Giselle look sinister, and for good reason: Giselle kills Bambietta to convert her into a zombie that will do whatever Giselle wants her to do.

* HealingFactor: Despite being sliced from shoulder to stomach, Giselle just pushes the two pieces back together and is instantly healed. When Giselle's neck is broken by Ichigo, it is instantly reset as if simply cricking a joint. Being stabbed through a vital point, however, is quite the work to heal from; Giselle heals himself by sucking the blood from Bambietta's zombiefied body.

Giselle can control any flesh that has touched his blood, living or not, with the exception of Quincy flesh, which must be dead first, giving the impression of creating zombies. But because of his abilities it is unknown whether he is actually dead, simply knocked out or just playing possum. * VoodooZombie: Everything about Giselle is a based on the bokor from Voudon beliefs. Giselle is able to create zombies by spreading his blood and like in the original myth, Giselle's zombies can both be undead and reanimated through his blood or living and Brainwashed into slavery. Bambietta's pleads for something...unspecific is reminiscent of the addictitve effects of zombie powder. Like in the original myth Giselle is capable of both healing others and creating zombies. Even Giselle's AmbiguousGenderIdentity is a reference to the two hands of the bokor, the male right hand that uses white magic to heal and the female left hand that uses black magic to create zombies.
* WhyDidYouMakeMeHitYou: Giselle has a tendency to hit or otherwise abuse Bambietta and every time he tells Bambietta that it is her own fault.
* Yandere: Giselle has an... extreme liking towards Bambietta, particularly as a zombie. Giselle becomes enraged after hearing Bambietta's plea to not take so much of her blood and repeatedly bashes her head into the pavement until it cracks open and knocks her out. When Giselle realizes what happened, he glomps Bambietta happily, and gushes over over how much he loves her.

As "The Zombie", she possesses a powerful HealingFactor, making her very difficult to kill. She can also control anyone who comes into physical contact with her blood, making her victims a type of "zombie". Perhaps to reflect this, she also has a bone-themed bow.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Something is not right with Giselle's mind. Giselle seems to have some disconnection with reality, as she genuiely doesn't seem to realize that performing ColdBloodedTorture and receiving an orgasm while hearing the screams of someone she kills, makes her sadist, as she denies being one. She likewise seems to have no problems with abusing Bambietta, even though she loves her, despite being much more nicer to people she doesn't have the same affection for. It seems Giselle treats Bambietta that way, precicely because she loves her. Giselle can go from bashing Bambietta's head in a fit of rage to gushing and hugging her in extreme joy and proclaming how much she loves her within mere seconds. And while she looked at what she had done, Giselle had a look of confusion in her face, as if she doesn't realize what she actually just did. She also displays several control and abandonment issues throughout the series and that is without going into her necrophilac tendencies.

* AntagonistAbilities: Giselle's Zombie abilities are triggered via contact with her blood, so she entices her opponents to cut her ensuring they become covered in her blood. If they are alive when this contact happens, they are placed in a state of undeath allowing Giselle to control their minds. If they were dead, they're resurrected under Giselle's complete control. Giselle's HealingFactor is so great she's almost impossible to kill and instantly heals even lethal injuries.
* BadassAdorable: Giselle has the face of cute young girl and likes to engange in funny shenanigans, but she also beat Rukia to the brink of death during the first invasion and according to Liltotto is even stronger than Meninas and Candice.

Regardless of that, the use of "boku" does reflect Giselle's childish personality and behavior and her quite infantile mindset rather well.

* ControlFreak: Giselle seems to have problems, if other people, especially Bambietta, don't listen to her commands. Whenever Bambietta doesn't follow or even talks back, Gisellle immediately resorts to violence and once became very enraged. Giselle mentions that the lack of control is one of the disadvantages of zombifying someone after death. It would also explain her ILoveTheDead preference for the undead, as zombies can't disobey.
* CreepyCrossdresser: Yumichika suggests that Giselle reeks of semen and so must be a man. Charlotte later makes a similar accusation. The accusations anger Giselle, who does not either confirm or deny it. Giselle continues to present as female regardless.
* CuteAndPsycho: Giselle has the innocent face of a little girl and behaves likes that most of the time, but she also once bashed Bambietta's head against the ground in sheer rage, only to gleefully embrace and declare her love for Bambietta a few seconds later. She is more than just a bit unstable.

** Giselle is very gentle and calm when offering to help Bambietta, but the blind panic this offer causes Bambietta makes Giselle's serenity appear creepy. It's later revealed Giselle's idea of helping was to murder Bambietta and inject the corpse with her blood, effectively creating an immortal and loyal zombie with Vollsterndich and The Explode completely intact.
** After revealing that her blood effectively brainwashes them if it comes into contact, Giselle cheerfully orders the RedShirts to commit suicide.
* FaceFramedInShadow: Giselle's confession that she doesn't want Bambietta to die is accompanied by a face covered in dark silhouette. It makes Giselle look sinister, and for good reason: Giselle kills Bambietta to convert her into a zombie that will do whatever Giselle wants her to do.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Giselle looks cute and innocent, but she is one of the most depraved characters in the entire series.
* FakingTheDead: After Zombie Kensei stabbed her, Giselle was able to convince Mayuri that she was truly dead. Giselle would later taunt him for that mistake.

When Giselle's neck is broken by Ichigo, it is instantly reset as if simply cricking a joint. Being stabbed through a vital point, however, is quite the work to heal from; Giselle heals herself by sucking the blood from Bambietta's zombiefied body.

She also notes that Bambietta is rather crazy, despite not being a paragon of sanity herself.
* ILoveTheDead: Giselle is very, very enthusiastic about not only the creation and acquisition of new zombie thralls, but there are heavy sexual undertones regarding the treatment of personal "favorites", such as Bambietta's reanimated corpse. Her character poem outright states that she loves the dead.
* IShallTauntYou: When Giselle appears alive and well in front of Mayuri and Kyoraku after being seemingly destroyed by the former's zombies, Mayuri condescendingly comments on her durability. Giselle's response is to make a childish face at him.

In general it seems that Giselle is the only one, who actually likes her. Unfortunately for Bambietta, Giselle feelings are a bit Yandere extreme.

This is how she forces the Squad 11 members to commit suicide and is even able to transfer flesh to her comrades to heal wounds and restore limbs.

Giselle is able to create zombies by spreading her blood and like in the original myth, Giselle's zombies can both be undead and reanimated through her blood or living and Brainwashed into slavery.
* WhyDidYouMakeMeHitYou: Giselle has a tendency to hit or otherwise abuse Bambietta and everytime she tells Bambietta that it is her own fault.
* Yandere: Giselle has an... extreme liking towards Bambietta, particularly as a zombie. When Giselle realizes what happened, she glomps Bambietta happily, and gushes over over how much she loves her.

* AmbiguousSituation: The exact circumstances surrounding his demise are quite iffy. While he was hit by the lights of the Auswahlen, he avoided the same fate as Robert and Gerard. But unlike Bazz-B and [=NaNaNa=], who suffered no ill effects beyond the loss of Vollsterndich, Haschwalth stated that he would die soon. Given how several of his statements contradict what actually happened, it is unknown if he actually lied to Uryuu or not. It is thus unknown whether he died because of the Auswahlen, him swapping his wounds with Uryuu or a combination of the two. Complicated further since the only similiar case was Katagiri, who slipped into a coma until she died three months later. So even whether he died or not can be put into question.

After Yhwach's Auschwalen power-up, he easily defeats Nimaiya, a member of the Royal Guard, and later defeats Captain-Commander Kyouraku, even after Kyouraku enters Bankai. It gets even further pushed once he goes all out with his Jilliel - nothing less than a weapon specifically designed to kill Gods can do him in.

** His Intangibility Vollsterndich forces Kyouraku to use his last resort tactic - Bankai. He explains to Kyouraku that he is the first Quincy to have been given power by Yhwach and therefore a being AGodIAm closer to a god than a man. He then blasts Kyouraku before he can react. When he then survives Kyouraku beheading him, he declares that he is an immortal, invincible Messenger of God that cannot be defeated by Bankai.

* OurAngelsAreDifferent: He claims that, as the first person to have been bestowed a Schrift upon by Yhwach, he's the latter's best creation, and refers to himself as the messenger of God, with Yhwach being his god. When he is revived by Auswahlen, he resembles the popular depiction of an angel, an attractive human dressed in white complete with feathery wings. However, his Vollsterndich, while retaining some of the Hollywood-angel traits like the wings and halo, is more inspired by the Bible's abstract depictions of God's messengers, creating an alien, inhuman form.

It is also unknown if those extra pages are accurate or not since they were made by Kubo's editor instead of Kubo himself.

* FauxAffablyEvil: Giselle always carries a cheerful, pleasant smile, speaks sweetly, and offers to help others and treat them well. It. Is. A. LIE. You don't want Giselle's kind of help - smiles and affectionate behaviour means Giselle is thinking of turning you into a zombie... and by the time Giselle starts smiling, it's too late to run away.
