* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first time we see Isaku (at the Itto-ryu meeting after [[spoiler: the shogunate turns on them]]) he's almost unrecognisable from his later appearances. He's ''much'' smaller and ganglier, wears his armoured apron even outside of combat but with only one gauntlet on his left arm, and rather than merely coming across as awkward he seems incredibly dim, possibly even mentally handicapped. By his next appearance he's a giant of a man and while he talks awkwardly he doesn't seem especially unintelligent, being the sensible one who keeps Doa out of trouble. Doa was slightly different during that first appearance as well (acting more mature and dressed more provocatively), but nothing like as much as Isaku.
