** Though she reveals that she actually ''hates'' coffee when it doesn't have milk in episode 5.

* VillainousBreakdown: In episode 2, when Yomi dares to suggest that she move on from the accident.

* UnflinchingWalk: In the finale, she just keeps walking into Insane Black★Rock Shooter's attack so she can fire a [[EverythingIsBetterWithRainbows rainbow]] colored SpiritBomb laser ''at point-blank range''.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Well, Adaptational Antagonism anyways. In the OVA, BRS was actively working toward Mato's intention of saving Yomi, although [[AmbiguousSituation whether or not any of this]] [[AnachronicOrder happens before Mato merges with her]] is uncertain. In the series, her constant slaughter in the Otherworld is something Mato is unaware of for the most part and would rather not happen for the rest.

* DetachmentCombat[=/=]RocketPunch: In the first few minutes, B★GS severely injures the arm IBRS has her {{BFS}}[=/=]{{BFG}}, IBRS's response is to RIP that arm off and throw it.

* PurpleIsPowerful: BRS is strong normally, but as Insane Black★Rock Shooter with a purple motif (red mixed with the blue), she's nearly unstoppable.
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: To BRS and Mato.

* AnArmAndALeg: She's partially responsible for IBRS losing an arm. IBRS then gets revenge.

* LightningBruiser: The fact that she wields a {{BFS}} might not justify it alone as the other characters are also able to wield lofty weapons. She is however the fastest in combination with her strength. It takes both DM and BRS a few seconds to notice her, or [[FlashStep rather where she was just standing.]] In addition, She sends Dead Master down a fissure she created with [[SwordBeam a single swing of her sword]].

* BackFromTheDead [[BackForTheFinale For The Finale]]: She comes back to help Mato defeat IBRS. And of course, her head is intact.

A lonely girl who acts as BRS' counterpart and main ally in the latter half of the game. She is a "Grey", a mass-production clone of "Sing Love" designed to fight the alien invasion. Like all Greys, her memories degenerate over time, which causes her a great deal of distress.

* TheMole: She struck a deal with the aliens to deliver BRS to them in exchange for her freedom.

* AffablyEvil: She's got the same objective as every other boss, but because humans don't use the "neblading" that the aliens do, she gives BRS the time to comfort the dying members of the PSS.
* EnemyMine: She tries to propose this to BRS as she feels there could be a better way of getting information. Unfortunately, one of XNFE's drones attack.

* {{Stripperific}}: She doesn't even get the benefit of a bra like BRS does - she gets this weird cross thing.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Her ultimate fate after being spared by BRS.

* AvengingTheVillain: Having nebladed MEFE, he goes after BRS to kill her in retaliation.

* HumongousMecha: It's not clear if his machine is meant to be this or MiniMecha but it's definitely enough that he outsizes BRS.

A mysterious young woman who appears as an "inverted" version of B★RS, trading black for white and blue eyes for red. She is an alien being who became known as "Sing Love" on Earth. She engineered "The Game" so that she could consume/assimilate a perfect clone of herself. To do this, she staged the alien invasion and then convinced the Earth forces to use her as the base for a clone army to fight against them. However, the resulting clone army lacked the ability to retain their memories over time, delaying her plan until "BRS" (who ''could'' retain memories) appeared.

* AscendedExtra: Before the RPG came out, White Rock Shooter was just a "[[PaletteSwap negative]]" version of BRS that appeared in artwork. In the RPG, she's the ''villain.''

* GenderBlenderName: Here, BRS is called "Rock". She is also the legendary "Black Star".

* SugarAndIcePersonality: She's easily the most emotive BRS, though she has an air of stoicism to her.

* {{Synchronization}}: After merging with Black Rock Shooter, she feels all her pain instead of the other way around.

* WalkingSpoiler: She's introduced as Mato's childhood friend and one who seems to have no connection with the plot of ''Black Rock Shooter'' whatsoever. Then she's revealed to have an Other Self known as Strength, and on top of that, Yuu and Strength actually swapped bodies.

* DetachmentCombat[=/=]RocketPunch: In the first few minutes, BGS severely injures the arm IBRS has her {{BFS}}[=/=]{{BFG}}, IBRS's response is to RIP that arm off and throw it.
* DualWielding: Has her {{BFS}}/{{BFG}} on her right arm, holds a [[BlackSwordsAreBetter much smaller blade]] in the other. Later, she uses the chains attached to her back to use BGS's sword. After she shoots off the arm holding said blade of course.

* EpicFlail: After ripping her arm off, she uses the chain attached to her back to turn the weapon attached to said arm into this. She then uses BGS's sword in the same way.

** This no longer applies after episode 4, where she is able to hold her own in a fight against Black Rock Shooter.

* RedHerring: Initially played out to be the main antagonist of the story, only later is it clear that the real main antagonist is [[VillainProtagonist Black Rock Shooter.]]

* BitchInSheepsClothing: She turns out to be a lot less nice than she initially appeared to be. She initiates Yomi's FreakOut, tries to strangle Mato to death twice and slaps Yuu when she finds out about Mato merging with Black Rock Shooter.

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Black Rock Shooter killing her fledging other self caused her to lose her love for Taku, an attachment that gave her grief.

The other self of Kagari. A wheel-legged Otherself that Black Rock Shooter provokes into fighting for holding Dead Master a hostage.

* ItsAllAboutMe: This is her biggest trait, as the "Game" she's engineered only has her interests in mind while using everyone else. And her goal of comsuming a perfect clone of herself is undeniably narcissistic.

* EvilCounterpart: As the General commanding the Earth-wrecking apostles, contrasting Stella's initials servitude to the UEF.

* RageAgainstTheMentor / BrokenPedestal: To Ram after forced to kill Dead.

* DontYouDarePityMe: Her last words.

* EmotionEater: Grew stronger by feeding off of Yomi's loneliness and jealousy over Mato and Yuu's blooming friendship, to the point where she became strong enough to become the dominant personality of the two.
* TheHeartless: Strongly implied to be one to Yomi.

** GlassCannon: Her ability to hack off limbs with her speed and strength against Insane Black★Rock Shooter is Amazing. Taking dammage, not so amazing.

* ThePromise: Her motivation is to keep one concerning Yuu's safety.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Kagari has this. She gets better... mostly, see NoSocialSkills

** {{Yandere}}: For Yomi in the beginning of the show, thought it's later undone.

* SweetTooth: Not only does she enjoy sweets, but she's good at making them too, like the madelines and chocolate chip cookies she made for Yomi.

* AntiHero: Seems to be completely fine with massacring "other selves" without restraint. This bothers Saya very much, but it concurs with Mato's belief that the Otherworld is wrong.

* LoveMakesYouEvil: Her desire to fulfill Mato's own desire to help others leads to her killing the other Other Selves.
* MadeOfIron: She takes enough damage to kill a human several times over in the first episode alone.
* MoreDakka: See GatlingGood.
* NinetiesAntiHero: BadassLongcoat, {{Stripperiffic}}, talks with her humongous gun and katana, vague ill-defined powers revolving about being MadeOfIron and GoodThingYouCanHeal and she's not afraid in the least to use lethal force.
